(Because technology can't increase very well in a colony ship.) So whats the deal with the Sol pirates, or do we realy need them at all?

The tech for FTL comm was developed by the Sirus pirates...all the pirates have been sharing the tech from their systems with each other so actually they're the most advanced faction out of all the factions. So all the NFFT factions(1/system) have most of the advances made by scientists in Sol, Sirus, Centauri, and Proxima all combined. Also the story does say the pirate leader is at Sirus(see Barbarian campaign)

So the pirates are more of an intersteller orginasation then roving pirate bands? Ok thats fine. And that would explane how the pirates poped up in every system. Though i'm not sure pirates would be a proper classifacation for that, maybe raiders would be a more apropriat title. Now i made two pirate stations, a normal kind, and a large kind. I placed the normal ones in all systems (2 in each) and the large station i put in proxima. Should i move the large one to sirus instead?

You know, I think it would make sense to build the station placements around the missions, not the other way(building missions around predone station placements). No point in constraining the missions when we don't have to do it.

Well, since all the action is all going to be centered in the same system mainly, i think it would make sense for the placement to remain the same. Or people go "Wait, i thought that stations was on that side of Planet" But maybe have a setup where you can eliminate the uneeded planets, and then multiply the distance between remaining.
About the Comm system, i gues that could fit, They send it in two parts, because its a very large system, the first mission, the ship carrying half of the comm system sneaks through, the second mission the second part is captured.
If they hadn't shipped the second part of the comm system, they wouldn't have been able to communicate with the other systems.
Also for the missions-a far smaller scale with only the VERY local objects will be better. so if you're defending a planet, all you see is that planet, maybe with the moons really far out. if you're in a section of the Asteriod Belt, all you see is that section, not even the whole belt. This allows for more flexibility in mission design and also lets us explain why the warp drive doesn't allow interstellar travel for CF2.

I dunno, that just upsets two big missions. I was hoping that some part of vital pirate data showing plans for a pirate übership, however, they only capture half the plans, the other half the piates have, so each is trying to get at the others throuts. And so spinoff into nice story.
Maybe a P station capture, they capture one of the minor stations, and pick up some of the plans for the pirate übership, and then the pirates find out that they part of the plans in the station and try to go back and reclaim it.
Suppose you can handle the CF2 missions how you wish - they don't affect anything outside of Proxima so we don't have to worry about plot discontinuites I guess...
When are these "Vegeta's Idea" plug going to be released? I haven't seen the first and second one yet.
------------------ Prepare to be annihilated, evil scum! ------------------ Upcoming Plugins: Black Inferno, SOS
well they're certainly not going to be released yet with only 3 of the 7 factions coded in, 3 of the 7 shipsets rendered and no missions coded
Besides, a single release with the whole plugin and all 5 campaigns will be easier to download(all sprites/pics/sounds etc can be moved from plugins to a new Ares Data file saving tons of space)
I think we can look at a release somewhere around X-Mas 2002...now to get back to the Syna'iara shipset
hi all, im back from wales (humm i never told you i was going).....
------------------ BANG....hehehehehe
I've been away for a while, due to lacking insperation.
Is anyone working on this?
I shure hope this project hasn't gone dead...

I'm working on enhancing the story right now, check the chronicles if you want to see. Other than that it's kinda stopped.

Interesting, i'm going to have to try to try my hand at a chronicle sometime. I had a nice story written up on a CF2vsPirate action...
I'm waiting for someone to tell me this project isn't as dead as it sounds so i can have hope in this project. Patrick:Can you just send the MU outpost station over now? Come any farther on the HQ style station? I made a CF2 freighter, waiting for a sign of life in this project before continuing onto the pirate ships. (Mag where are you??)
I'll get copies of what I've done on the web either tonight or tomorrow for you. Having troubles with the SF and barbarian ship models due to an acute lack of talent and imagination. I'll try and put the HQ together sometime soon.

I am here, but didn't Patrick finish off the ship designs?
------------------ "Typical Americanism. Somebody else does it so we have to do it wrong."
no, not really. mycenians need specs and Skyfox wanted drawings of the NFFT ships from yout I believe...
I see. So what did we decide for these Mycenians ships to be like, and who's the NFFT, and stuff like that?

The NFFT is the quaint little name for the pirates. The mycenians should have older CF3 tech, upgraded with a little of their own zealous style.
I'm going to start formulating the CF2 missions again...
Originally posted by Patrick: ...the pirates are using a probe when they're supposed to have FTL comm systems to communicate. Probes were only used to carry specs for the comm system to the other pirates. Also the main pirate base is in Sirus not Earth so thats where transmissions would come from...I suggest changing the probe into a pirate ship carrying the data and one of the FTL comms to a main pirate station...they destroy the comm system before capture and the FWJ doesn't realise it(the comm) exists.
Would it be alright if the pirates first started sending probes, then discovered the FTL comm system later? Right around the beginning of the story?
That would explane why the pirates had the time to build the SuperCruiser enough to where it comes out in mission 6 and the new weapon that comes up in that mission as well.
