The ChronoKinetic Cannon (Images)

I've Worked on the physics of this monstrosity and it makes sense. The only downside is it would take millions of yars for us to get the energy just to charge the bloody thing. I've made a few images of it in action.

Basically it uses energy to create a singularity so dense, time slows down to a crawl (relatively speaking). It projects the singularity right onto the target pretty much ripping it apart.

You can post now?

The images look good.

Anyway, your weapon does make sense, and the PICTs are great too. After all, couldn't you just fire a singularity at a vessel? I've actually thought about a field that, when hit by a weapon, would create a tiny singularity at the point of impact a split second before the weapon actually hit. The weapon would then get sucker up by the small singularity, and then the singularity would collapse. No weapon, except for shockwave weapons, could get through it, theoretically.

I've been working out some superweapons for a plug too, but I haven't got any pics yet.
FYI, it's a long, long way off.

In the future, in addition to conventional shields, the spaceships of the Ares universe might need specialized exotic defenses to protect them from exotic superweapons.

Also, isn't the Chronokinetic cannon fixed firing forward? The Cantharan ship was below and a little to the side.

Hey, your right! I just noticed that.

And what kind of ship was that Cantharan ship?

Never mind, I just saw it in the EV Image Gallery. Looks better from above. Is it your creation or Nathan Lamont's? And what are its stats?

What is the really big ship with the ChronoKinetic Cannon?

That is the StarLance. Except for people with gravity-based transportation systems who know what they're doing, nobody can do much to hurt it.

What would be the point of having a weapon mounted dead ahead on a large capitol class ship? Why on Earth(or anywhere else, for that matter) would you mount the main guns of a battle ship facing straight forward? Even with large thrusters and good computers, aiming it would be near impossible.

Just an interesting thought about the Chronokinetic cannon, If a ship were to be in the process of exceeding C at the same time that you fired that beast of a cannon, wouldn't relativity put them in the same frame of reference as the chronokinetic blast? then they could do all sorts of fun stuff! (unless of course the warp field that ftl engines make cheats too much)

It's fixed forward because it's too big to turret - it's the whole front of the ship. Why they have it at all, I'm not sure. Of course, (not to offend Slug) the rest of the StarLance's design has some problems of similar magnitude, as I mentioned to him on GR.

It's probably there to destroy other fricking large ships.

The CK-Cannon is not the StarLance's main weapon. It's main weapons are it's three gigantic disruptor nacelles housed at the ends of each of the StarLance's fins towards the rear. In the "trenches" that run down the sides are an assortment of exotic turreted weaponry designed to take out small and medium-sized ships.

The CK-Cannon is designed to take out the fecking Huge ships and everything in their paths.

I would think it'd have a LOT more point defence weapons all over(they could be too small to see, the thing IS huge) I mean we wouldn't want a lone starfighter finding a reactor vent at the end of a long trench and putting two proton torpedoes in it now, would we?

Doesn't the StarLance look a lot like the Juggernaught though... 😉
