Congratulations. I hope you liked it, too. Nah, placing the toadstools was not too bad. What took ages was opening the PoG forest tile by tile to get access to the hidden spots where green mushrooms can grow.

"Return to Surface" would be a teleportation to a pre-determined location on another map. Gatestones do this. Hard Cider does this. Portal does this. It would be impossible to have one item which works in every cave which would send the player to the map which had that specific cave in it. In other words, a teleportation has to have a specific destination. You cannot have the same item, spell, whatever which will selectively send you from the Mindhunter cave to the square north of Fantrima and also send you from the depths of the Order of Crystal to the square with the skull cave, and then again, from Mesera to the square with Fungus.
The conditional/global structure required to do that would be horrendous. I'm not even sure if you could dig your way to the tunnel system as the Ranger can do because the tunnel "map" is not a map in the true sense. You could, however, have one item which sends you "home" to one location of your choice.
As you have indicated, you have to de-activate this ability in the Guardian's chamber and room with the Pillar's toes or the player will be in trouble later.
I'm prepared to do whatever it takes to make that spell work, regardless of how you try to put me off the idea, RD.
someone should make a blacksmith a Dernath. It could sell new types of weapons there. But there could also be a quest for it. Like the blacksmiths hammer was stolen by theives to make Dernath easier to rob because when the gaurds need new weapons, they couldn't get it. The hammer could also be magical, which makes all the weapons made by it more powerful, which is another reason that the theives wanted it. It could have been the hammer of the Karax the OldDwarf and the Karax had given it to the blacksmith of Dernath a long time ago because he save his life, or got him special materials for the sheild that awakes the giants or something like that.

Great. More power to you. I am not trying to put you off the idea, I am only trying to present the reality of the problem as I see it. I certainly do not know all that there is to know about Coldstone and welcome any improvements/additions to the game that you can come up with.
What you will need to know is the name of every map which has a cave in it. That information is available. Then you will need to construct a system which determines which cave map the player is presently in. There are (if I counted correctly) fifty underground maps not counting the final two. Add to that seven (I think) underground areas for SE, WoC, and DiD if you want this to be compatable with the existing plugins. Now set up your conditional checks so that if player is in location "Cyclops Cave" a teleport to World_R11 occurs, etc.
A few questions: What happens when the next plugin is released? What happens if this spell is called up when the player is not underground? What about the caves which can exit to two different topside maps? Is the effort worth the result?
A few questions: What happens when the next plugin is released? -I upgrade the plugin
What happens if this spell is called up when the player is not underground? -The player loses magic and feels a right idiot
What about the caves which can exit to two different topside maps? -Picks one at random
Is the effort worth the result? -Yes
Here's a few more Ideas: CONJURER: level 1- Bless: Causes you to do maximum damage for short period of time. Level 2- Paralize: Paralizes everything around you. level 3-Time Slice: slows down everything around you (not including you)like RD did at the end of DiD. level 4- Shade: Makes you temporarily invisible. level 5- Chain Lightning: calls a lightning bolt to hit you (no damage to you)and then shoot out 5-8 bolts from you to hit all nearby enemys. Level 5- Fissure: Summons a couple demons out of a hole in the ground. RANGER: Pretty much covered. Can't think of anything right now. SWORDSMAN: (SEE RANGER)
------------------ some who did not know would ask "what is this way that gives him so much power?" and they were told "It is the way of Mrs. Marietta Cosmopilite, 3 quirm street, Ankh-Morpork, rooms to rent, very reasonable. No, we don't understand it, either. Some subsendential rubbish, apparently."
For all your Nova needs! (url="http://"http://www.ev-nova.net/walkthrough/") The Nova Walkthrough(/url) For all your Nova Walkthroughy Needs!
All are good ideas except Fissure and Shade. They are unworkable. The 'summon earth elemental' spell does not summon an earth elemental to fight for you. Shade is just unworkable. Period.
So far here's what we got:
CONJUROR:
WEAPON - Staff of the Archers (if you have enough magic, shoots magical arrows that deal 10-20, 25-50 or 50-100(depends on how much it costs, or how hard to finish the quest that gives it to you) at all nearby opponents. it should only cost like 1-10 magic cause every single time you attack you lose magic.) LEVEL 1 - Dissipate (Causes an enemy to become dumb, and hit you less often) LEVEL 1- Bless: Causes you to do maximum damage for short period of time LEVEL 1 - Mystic Blast (Small, basic offensive spell, basically an alternative to magic arrow) LEVEL 2- Paralize: Paralizes everything around you LEVEL 2 - Phantom Merchant (Summons a shop where you can get a few basic food items, and sell your stuff) LEVEL 2 - Curse (Temp, Take away speed, dexterity, and perception) LEVEL 3 - View (Equivilent of Eagle Eye) LEVEL 3 - Sever Seal (Essential spell, used in some quests) LEVEL 3 - Time Slice: slows down everything around you (not including you)like RD did at the end of DiD LEVEL 4 - Blast (First relocate/blink to a blocked tile, then cause it to become accessible (may not work very well)) LEVEL 4 - Block (Locks an enemy within a small radius) LEVEL 5 - Summon Ice Elemental LEVEL 5 - Summon Earth Elemental (CLASSIFIED) LEVEL 5 - Chain Lightning: calls a lightning bolt to hit you (no damage to you)and then shoot out 5-8 bolts from you to hit all nearby enemies LEVEL 5 - Cold Fire (VERY VERY VERY CLASSIFIED) LEVEL 6 - Ice Storm (Throw a massive amount of IceBolts at your enemy; I may be able to pull this one off...) LEVEL 7 - Andromeda (CLASSIFIED-TOP SECRET COLDSTONE PRIORITY) LEVEL 7 - Armageddon (CLASSIFIED FOR NOW)
RANGER:
LEVEL 1 - Plant Seeds (Plants a seed. Stick around long enough and it grows to a random plant of ingredients) LEVEL 2 - Absorbent Powder (Creates a powder equivalent to a conjuror's SEVER SEAL) LEVEL 3 - Fenellys Brew (Hinders your enemy's dexterity) LEVEL 3 - ยPotion of Power" (It make all your stats go up by 10-20 for a period of time, but to make it you need a special book(sort of like the minotaur book) and one of the ingredients is SUPER expensive. you'll need to make the new ingredient cause the others don't cost too much, and it can go with other good potions.) LEVEL 4 - Earthdust (VERY VERY VERY CLASSIFIED) - Equivalent of Cold Fire
SWORDSMAN:
WEAPON - Gidolan Sabre: Just a sword. Good one though. WEAPON - Intrepid (Short Sword, Slows enemies down) WEAPON - A weapon for swordsman that goes in the shield slot, but gives you extra attack. Cause your guys should be able to hold two swords at a time don't you think WEAPON - Glass Sword: Check Blue Mushroom Pub. Okay, I'll tell you. This one comes from the RPG series Ultima. A glass sword will break when a hit is scored, how ever it will kill most creatures in one blow (HINT-useful at the end of DiD, carry a lot) ARMOR - Vrianar Helm (Very strong) ARMOR - Spiked Helm: Little Protection, but adds damage ARMOR - Fire Shield (Powerful Shield) SPELL - Phial of Llon'goek (Swordsman version of Sever Seal) SPELL - Glowing Crystal (Swordsman version of Cold Fire) SPELL - Gem of Farsight - Equivalent of View/Eagle Eye SPELL - Flaming Oil: Held in hand, then throw bolt at enemy. One use per flask. SPELL - Earthquake pellets: Homemade earthquakes, works on rabbits. SPELL - Moonstone: When planted in the ground, this summons a portal. It will stay in that spot, so you can suommon the portal whenever you are there, or you can pick the stone up.
QUESTS:
If someone makes a plugin that needs map space, there is a ton of room on the screen of the Fantrima Tunnel Entrance. Only 1/3 of the space on the map is used, and you could fit a goblin town that you destroy for Fantrima, with a cave north of it where you can find a long lost mine, where gold is everywhere, but Molespiders have made a home there, so you destroy them. Also you could get a weapon from the Goblin cause, lets say, they have the Mayor of Fantrima's daughter as a hostage.
Another idea for a plugin would be a theif hidout in the woods north of Berglum(not Upper Berglum from DiD). And the Theives own one of the weapons that we have already thought up, and their leader drops it. The quest could be that theives had been robbing the blacksmith in berglum and he gives you quest, telling you that the owner of the inn at Berglum knew where their hideout was.
Conjourer's Spells=19 Ranger's Potions =5 Swordman's Weapons=4 Swordman's Armor =3 Swordman's Spells =6 Quests =3
Edit; grammer, and the count. ------------------ PoG,Starcraft, WarcraftIII and EVNova are awsome games. I M A Kid that is very Krayz. I am also very awesome, while u r not. so haha!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

More stuff to add to the pile:
Witch's dagger (This weapon is cursed, so it takes the form of a random weapon when equipped) Whip (Like a sword but it can do damge from 3-6 tiles away) Scourge Whip (Like a whip but goes farther, is more damaging, and requires greater dexterity/vitality/etc to equip)
(No levels this time): Recipe for Earthquake pellets Ability to create Gatestones (tough to do)
Also, we should get more ingredients for the Ranger. Toadstools anyone? ^^
CONJURER:
Level 4 - Smite Foe (This only works when standing right on top of your foe, but the damage can be devastating, about powerful enough to kill an Earth Elemental in one blow) Level 4 - Shockwave (Okay, I stole this idea from The Four Mages. So sue me. But since I know that Cafall pulled it off, it IS possible to do. When the spell is cast, a circular wave of damage forms around the player and spreads outward, but the damage decreases as it spreads. Stops after covering about 50 tiles) Level 5 - Delver (Equivelent of Earth Mole, reaches tunnel system) Icewand - Not a spell, but a weapon. This sends bolts of ice out in front of you, but the enemy must be at least 3 tiles away.
NEW ENEMIES:
Ghoul Master (check Stark's walkthrough) Semenon Master (check Stark's walkthrough) Wisp (floating ball of light, this should be easy since we already have some graphics in PoG) Firesprite (like the Ignae in Cythera, nasties made out of fire)
AgentVast: Ouch, nasty. I'd need the SE code. I wonder where Stark is?
We don't need the SE code. The PoG dev code has the same engine. We just need to redo the portal graphics.
This looks really, REALLY good. Maybe we can make it as good as TFM was supposed to be.

I'm not sure how to quote, but LifeKnight said "As good as TFM was supposed to be." Does that mean that Cafall has stopped making it. Or was that just a typo? PLEASE! any info about tfm would be welcomed.

Are you sure you are not confusing this with Shock Sphere which is a spell available in World of CHa0s? The Four Mages has never been released to the public. Cafall quit working on it a long time ago. Whether or not he will get back to it is anybody's guess.
No, Shock Sphere is a projectile based spell. Cafall talked about Shockwave a long time ago on the Coldstone board. The spell was supposed to work just the way I have described it.
No KrazyKid, that was not a typo. looks at TFM site

That is TFM's website. It hasn't been updated in over a year. Check the logs. Okay, we don't know for sure if he is still working on it, but guessing from the logs and Cafall's last post date, we can only guess that he has stopped. He has not responded to any emails either.

I always thought that there were too many spells for conjurors already. So I have some ranger potion ideas. I haven't specified any levels though. Perhaps there needs to be a new ingredient though, like an Earth Stone or something, since most of these aren't quite potions, but are more abilities.
Camouflage- Turns you green and lowers all enemies' distance they can see you (don't know if this is possible). Summon Spirit of the Forest- A spirit-like thing appears and acts as a magic mirror Ride the Wind- Relocate Summon Eagle- Portal (an animation would be cool here, if you can pull one off). Meditate- Healing spell Summon storm- A powerful spell
And more that I can't think of this late of night.
Perhaps you can also have a miniquest at a certain area for rangers only. You would be tasked to capture a rabbit or some other animal. It would have a lot of speed, but no courage, so it would just run away from you. You job is to "kill it" in other words, catch it. After you do, then it is added to your inventory or something happens. Later in the game, it would get even tougher, perhaps even making you have to go through mazes.
------------------ Motion is impossible: If an archer fired an arrow at a target, it would have to travel halfway before reaching the target. To reach that distance, the arrow would first need to travel halfway. To reach that distance, the arrow would first need to travel halfway. To reach that distance, the arrow would first need to travel halfway. To reach that distance, the arrow would first need to travel halfway. To reach that distance, the arrow would first need to travel halfway...
