An "All Ships" EVO EV Nova Plug

Way back in the day, I had a plugin for EVO which was called "EV-OR Cheater", which basically made it so you could purchase any equipment or ship, regardless of where you were or tech level. I've been able to create a new EVO plugin for Nova which successfully does the equipment part, but I'm not having any luck with the ships. Would someone be up to the task of trying to create this, or letting me know what settings I would need to change? I've uploaded the original plugin with this post. It's in a zip.

No NCB stings, require bits and availability to 100. That should work.

Sorry forgive my relative "dumbness", but what is NCB strings? If someone could just create a plugin which edits one of the ships to be made available everywhere, I could just open it out in MissionComputer, figure out what they did, and go from there.

At first glance I thought you were making a plug that puts the EV, EVO and Nova ships into one fat Nova plug-in.

Wait.

Holy ######, that would be so cool.

😮

Okay it looks like I found out how to make them buyable anywhere.

Unfortunately, this brings up another small problem. What I like to do back in EVO, was create a fleet of non-paid (captured) ships from around the Galaxy, the Izzy, the Adzara Warship, the Zidra, and the Dreadnought. Back in EVO, I would simply buy one of those ships I wanted, hire a paid shuttle escort, release it from service, capture it, and then switch ships. Rinse, wash, repeat. Now it seems however, when you disable a paid escort, it says "You cannot board this type of ship". Any reason why this changed, and how I could fix it. (yes, I know I am a little cheater, but it's what I enjoy, riding around with the"best of" ships)

If you can buy all the ships... Then buy the ship you want as escort then using that ship kill a smaller ship and when you board and try to capture the smaller ship it should say would you like to "switch ships" or "keep your one". Just hit "switch ships" then as you put it, Rinse, wash, repeat.

Nevermind...

???

NCBs (Nova control bits) are more commonly known as "mission bits." They can be set to on and of or toggled and can be evaluated as true or false. The Nova Bible has more detailed information on them.

Basically what he meant is "have nothing in the 'availability (test)' box." If you wanted the ships only to be available if bit 1 were set, you'd put in "b1" in that box. But because you want them to be available at any time (right?), you'll just leave that blank.

As for the escort-disable-board trick, it was one of the balance changes made in the Nova engine for the intent of preventing people from doing what you just described. I know, it's a bitch isn't it? 😛

Heh, sorry I replied to a previous post but you had figured stuff out by the time I posted so I deleted it. Maybe my new post will be of use. The one before this one that is...

.......so there's no way I can change that, for example with a plugin? I know it's cheating, but having all the ships was really interesting, especially now with this new EVO Facelift. Or perhaps is there a way to edit capture odds?

Nope, because that needs an engine change. And you know what that is in terms of being done...

The way to edit capture odds is to make an outfit that increases your capture percent with 100%. You cannot go higher than 75%, however, but it is handy to be on the safe side. And there is a chance that the ship will go boom even after a successful capture.

I actually found a way, somehow, to just make the paid escort cost per day $0, which works okay as well. Timmy, that capture outfit is interesting, I might try that as well. What's this about the ship exploding though? Do you mean it could still explode after capture in that one system, or wherever you take the escort?

Immediately after you've captured it.

You don't get a fail, but still it explodes.

Edit: According to the Nova Bible, if you want the percent modifier, ModType is 25 and ModVal is -(percentage extra capture). Positive is extra crew.

My way wasn't all that different from what you used to do... Capturing a shuttle or something to that effect shouldn't be hard in one of those super ships anyways...

We'll, I've been able to get these ships fixed so you can just buy an escort and they will work for you free. I've also redone some other old school EVO plugs I used back in the day to make them Nova Native. I'll start posting them this weekend for people to enjoy.
