There's a new plugin on the add-ons page which has me stumped.

I downloaded this in hopes of finding out what it would do. There is no read-me with it to say which key to press. I dropped it in my plugins folder and opened a game. I tried every key on the keyboard and nothing happened.
Mr. Gowan-Day, If you frequent this forum, please give a clue to what this plugin is supposed to do.

I saw that too. I didn't bother downloading it. Just a guess, maybe you need to press more than one key simultaneously. :rolleyes:

Hi Lt Cmdr Data. Welcome to the PoG forum. I have (obviously) worked with Coldstone a bit and I do not believe that a keydown event can be tied to two keys. And even if it could, there is no clue as to which two keys to use.
Since the author of the plugin has not responded in a week, I ask anyone who has gotten this plugin to work to please post here.
I, for one, do not like to see the add-ons page cluttered with plugins which do not function. They serve no purpose but to waste people's time when they could be using that time to waste playing the game. ~RD

You can use the shift key and (I think) the option key in addition to the number and letter keys. Try using the shift key on the letters and numbers, and see if that does anything. I will download the plugin and check it out.

Except that the shift key only works on a Mac if I remember correctly. That would mean the PC users can't use this plugin.

I downloaded Ultra Cheat and checked it out: The plugin does absolutly nothing. I pressed every key on the keyboard, then tried it with the shift and option keys, and did not notice any change in stats, health, gold, or items. The only thing that I could see the plugin doing is adding a "plugin debuginfos" event to the menu and "d" key. When compiled and stuffed, this event is about 5k, the size of the Ultra Cheat. Probably the maker of the plugin thought that this was a cool cheat and decided to make a plugin for it, when most of the other small plugins out there leave it in the menu.

I don't think the maker put much thought into it at all. He certainly didn't check it out or have it tested. The debuginfos is in a plugin when you start it and you are supposed to remove it before you publish. I think you meant "most of the other small plugins out there don't leave it in the menu." If any of you who don't have Coldstone want a de-bug key, here's how to get one real cheap. All it does is tell you where you are (x & y co-ordinates and the name of the map.)

Which can be handy for using the relocate spell. Oh, there is some other plugin that has this kept in. I think that it's either Sapphire, Mushroom Lady, or Reginify. But I don't really feel like testing to figure it out.

Alright, I'm removing the plug-in until it does something.
Normally I only check to make sure that the plug-in contains all the correct parts to be useable, and that it isn't a virus or other such nastiness.
Ah well, no biggie. Plug-in go bye bye.
