I have just started to code a plug-in/ major scenario for Escape Velocity Nova. I am using a PC and EVNEW (Latest Version - I think).
After reading the EVN Bible and printing all 65 pages I checked that my project was feasible and read various guides including Bomb's and others. Then I created my first system.
The problem is that I would like to add a message when you jump into a system. I know that I need to create a STR resource but I dont know the number.
Could anyone help me?

To quote the Bible:

Add a new entry in STR# 1000, and put that number in the Message box in your SYST resource.

The next (field) tells Nova which string, if any, to display as the message buoy's message when you enter a system:
Message Which message buoy string to display -1 Ignored (no special message) 1 and up Use this entry in STR# resource 1000 as the text of the message buoy
I can't give you more specific directions for EVNEW, since I've never used it.

Now its the morning i realised that I still have a problem.
I want to add a STR resource as I want to keep the current messages...
