DiD: Finding the pieces of the sacred Blade Diabolus

I have rescued 3 princesses, made it past the trap door in Troll Sentril, and taken the gift to Jimmy. Now I return to the Hag and she tells me to find the Sacred Blade Diabolus. I get the dialogue box where the Hag asks me what I have and I open my inventory sack to show her what I have. But nothing happens after that. I have the sword hilt and the sword shank with the inscription de Diabolus. I have the quest 'pay the ransom' and find the sword parts, but it says 'record the parts you need in your journal.' How do I do that? Where do I start looking for the parts? Am I missing a dialogue or a quest?

Thanks,
Welshgirl

You need to find another part after you get the quest to find the parts before she will tell you where they are (this is a bug). The easiest to find is probably the pommel stone. Search for a secret path in the forest behind Gewin the Herbalist, and there is a small clearing in which the gem sits.

The author of this plugin has done a fix for this problem which you can get by clicking on (url="http://"http://www.evula.org/rduck/damselsV1.1.1.sit")damselsV1.1.1(/url). As mentioned in an earlier thread, if you had some other combination of parts you would have gotten the dialogue. LifeKnight has given you a good clue and if you find that part the Hag will tell you what else is needed. I'm sorry for your inconvenience. ~RD

Yay, I found the pommel jewel and I'm off to find the other two pieces the hag has now told me about. Thanks, guys!

This is where I write the clever bit, right?

I think that the hilt is the easiest find. You get a quest to get into the room where it is! Of course, you can reach the shank from the start of the game without running into any monsters, so it's the easiest to get.

A man who's out to save Gidolan Keep, flies an Auroran ship, and hacks into computers to keep the bricks from falling past the line of destiny? Yep, that's me!

The hilt may be the easiest to FIND, but it is the hardest to get. Look how many people started topics asking for help because of those two annoying guards.

True, but some of us (like me) started a topic about it because of the first time refusal bug.
