I didn't know about tabs, but I discovered the cursor problem on my own. The thing is, Safari will allow you to make an <a> around an entire table, a cool feature, but Netscape doesn't. So I guess I'll have to use an <a> for each number.

I was going to see if Google's code worked, but apparently they've either ditched that code, or they detected that I use Safari and didn't display it.

Orca, just fyi, my include scheme is a bit... odd... for my personal benefit. Below is the format for a new document:

<html><head><title>Plugin Developer's Guide - Report Site Errors</title>
<!--#include file="_hstart.html"-->

<p><b>F</b>ind a broken link? Help keep this site clean by reporting it. Email any links you find that do not work, or any content that is not showing properly, or any suggestions in general to <i><a href=mailto:hypermike@adelphia.net>hyper.mike.@adel.phia.net</a></i>.</p><br>
<p><b>T</b>hanks for your support!</p>

<!--#include file="_hend.html"--></body></html>

The method above shows the ssi include method, but you could as easily use a php <? include "_hstart.html" ?> I could give you more examples if you need them.

Hope that clears things up for you a bit.

By the way, I'm doing the waatermarking, no worries. I'm using 60% opacity because 50% was too dark and 75% was too bright. The sprites are still very much visible, though.

Appendix 2, part C. Aside from that, and the fact that I don't use <h?>'s anywhere else in the 'guides, it all looks great. I'll mess with the css file to make those <h?>'s fit in a bit better.

Looks great, though there are some things to fix:
Firstly, is the plural of appendix: appendixes or appendices? if the latter, I wrote appendixes in 2, the third bullet, and at the beginning of 6.

At the end of 2, after TC, insert "(Total Conversion, that replaces the default scenario, as opposed to a plug-in that bases on it)"

In 3, after "The Bible should not", there is a br> leftover

In 4, after spöb, put "(stands for SPace OBject)" and after shÀn, "(stands for SHip ANimation)"

In the beginning of 5, there is an odd ": From theory to practice" you should remove

in 5 remove "like we did" (after "so if you want to replace the shuttle with a better version" around one third of the first paragraph), it was meant for a mod of light blaster originally, which is the thing done in the introduction

in Appendix II, A, "LinkSyst field in the flëgövtt resource", remove that "gövt"!

in B, I should have precised: "in Nova data 5, check the last dësc resources by ID"

in C, I see the hex additions in black (in Safari), not very clear on that background...

in D, instead of "-to be filled-", put "I'm trying to explain these in this guide (will be put soon!)", same "will be put soon" for E, you will upload it soon won't you SP? The contrib/req/scanmask will be made soon, I swear. I did the ScanMask already.

in F, the list does not seem to be very coherent: the first ones (PICT, STR#, rlë ) are not list items.

Append at the end: ", and editors usually can't edit them."

The "PICT can't replace rlë" issue is indeed important enough to be mentioned, especially as PICT can be considered for just trying before enrle-ing, but that can't be done for existing ships (happened to me, actually...); thanks for reminding me about that. So he're what should be added at the end of the rlë subsection:
"However, there is one case you can't stick to PICT. If you're trying to change the appearance of an existing rlë with a plug, and you put the new appearance with a PICT and his mask, there won't be any in-game change. That's because the original rlë's are still considered (the PICT has same ID than the rlë, but not the same resource type, so the overriding rule does not apply), and if the engine has both PICT and rlë's available, it will always load the rlë's over the PICT, even if the PICT is in a plug and the rlë is not. Therefore, either rlë-ise your images from the start, or add the relevant(s) shÀn(s)/spïn(s) to your plug as well, and modify it (them) so that it (they) references an ID unused by either a PICT or rlë, and change the IDs of your PICT and mask to match. It should now work."

Other than that, great work, I hope it will be able to help new plug devers real soon. Thanks all for your cooperation; soon I'll start a new topic for the contrib/req/scanmask guide.

SP, the frames are because of the orca.ma.cx. Technically, that page is (url="http://"http://www.freepgs.com/orcaloverbri9/bfd/bfd.shtml")here(/url), but I use orca.ma.cx because it's easier to type. 🙂

It's appendices. I'll fix any "appendixes" I find.

That's not my fault, it's SP's stylesheet. 😛 Seriously, though, I have nothing to do with that. It really is SP's stylesheet doing that.

Good-lookin' page!

He's another idea for you to take or leave, depending in part on whether you think you'll ever want to revise your guide:

At the bottom of the page, you could include a link to a TBETD Suggestions & Revisions web forum topic so that readers would have an obvious place to deposit and read comments about any errors or omissions in your document. This could help you out if you later decided to rewrite.

EV-Nova.net might be the right place to post the topic, since (1) the thread would probably be very slow-moving but (2) going with a board that sees more traffic than one you set up yourselves would increase the chance that you'd get a few other fairly knowledgable people chiming in with comments on the comments on your guide.

You might not get any posts at all, but having the link there would be a sort of equivalent of one of those "How's My Driving?" phone-number bumper stickers. If no one calls, you can just assume your driving is fine. 🙂

I wouldn't actually count on it for my driving (odd bumper sticker idea, btw). But maybe I can make SP plugdev space grow so large and important that we could get EVula to open a whole new EV-Nova.net board for it (of which we would be mods! yay!). In the meantime, there are enough links to this place that people will make new topics about it (yeah, a single topic would be better, but I don't expect ~that~ much feedback. Neat! Though, how does one access to it? And remember it makes sense with the previous beginning tutorial I mailed you before. But take your time to organise that, I know that finding a way to organise content can be harder than putting content (or even sometimes writing content).

By the way, I like to keep my webspace clean, it's no problem to remove the examples JPEGs that I linked to in a previous post, right?
