Possible PC Nova Bug - Needs Testing

Hey all, I've found a problem in PC Nova where I can't use the keyboard to set check boxes in the preferences. I was trying to talk someone through how to set Nova to windowed mode without being able to see anything on the screen, and I found that when I pushed "space" to set the check box, the box set and unset in rapid successon, leaving the box unset. The other person tried the procedure, and it was ultimately unsuccessful, but I don't know if it was caused by the same problem.

Now, I don't know if this is a problem on my machine only, which is why it needs testing. So someone out there with PC Nova, could you try selecting options in the Preferences using only the keyboard?

I just tried it ,and wasn't able to do anything using only the keyboard in Preferences. Are you supposed to be able to navigate with the arrow keys? Hitting the space bar in Preferences actually closed the window in my case.

Isn't there a key to open the prefs at launch before anything happens, for use in such cases? I know for sure there is one on the Mac versions of Nova and Deimos Rising (be it shift, command, option, or control, I don't remember right now).

As I recall it, it was option on the mac... Perhaps Alt on the PC?

It was one of those modifier keys...

You use the tab key (and shift-tab) to navigate through the preferences. Pushing the spacebar closed the preferences because you still had the "OK" button selected when you pushed it.

Alt-open doesn't work, I already tried. It just brings up the Properties. Ctrl-open does nothing - it merely opens Nova as normal. But even if it did work, that's still just a work-around. The same possible problem remains.

Belthazar, rather than a bug, it's probably a holdover from the fact that Nova has never (for any platform) supported keyboard accessing of dialogs.

Matt custom-wrote some of the dialog handling stuff, and I'm pretty sure that the PC version is a straight port.

.... oh

Edit: But it's still a problem that the PC Nova preferences can't be opened without loading the program itself. I checked the Documentation, but there wasn't anything there. (Oh, and the preferences can be selected using only the keyboard, by using the tab key, but other than pushing the "OK" and "Set Keys" button, the spacebar doesn't work, although it does actually work for the two buttons.)
