I´m trying to make some ships, and i wonder if anyone knows how the ships in NOVA have been lighted? And if someone has the exact way for Cinema 4D that would be nice.

I tend to like to put my key light 45 degrees to the left, and 30 degrees up.

I use (url="http://"http://www.evula.org/artanis/ImageGallery/ShipTemplate.xml")this(/url) setup for ships. I saved it as xml to avoid cross platform issues. Just download it and use Open from C4D to import it.
It has two distant lights. One at 100% brightness, the key light, and a second, opposite light at 25%-33% brightness, to make the shadows not-black.

Thanks. is the camera setup ok in the XML file, or is it just the light...?
checks file
Um... no.
Change view it to isometric and zoom out if you need to. Just remember that in isometric, your ship needs an H rotation of 135 to be oriented correctly. That is why the animation is on a null object.
Lights should be fine. Animation should be fine as well, if you want to use that.
thanks, the lights are nice, what´s the problem with rendering in perspective view..? Things in front get bigger or..?
Yeah. In perspective view, parallel lines don't appear parallel. Instead, they appear to converge at a distant point.
In isometric, this does not happen.
