Here's one that actually happened to me. You are playing so late into the night, that the birds outside are singing for an hour before you realize it is not the game's ambient sounds.
You cut yourself and wonder why the apple you ate didn't heal it.
You play a plug-in start to finish in one day that took the developer ten months to make. (Don't feel too guilty if this is you. Some films are in production for 3 years, but it still only takes 2 hours in the theater to watch them.)

I've gotten close to that before.
You know you've played DiD for a while when... When you find 3 sword pieces and 202 toadstools in a few hours with no effort. When you can recongnize a part of the map the RD added because of the layout. When you realize that it would be easier to play if you started a new file so that you can have an easier time finding toadstools.
