Our team hasn't lost the 3rd place to the New Zealand this morning (note: from a stupid Frenchie angle, they happen to take place in the morning), it isn't possible! We did everything, including having one of us in the back of the classroom sneak a radio and regularly put the score on the blackboad behind him (yes, in our classroom we have a blackboard in the back for some uses) for us to see (note: our teacher did not care, as long as we weren't talking)!
NOTE: I'm absolutely sure that, given the experience of the board mechanics of Martin, he wanted people to talk rugby while not seemingly having started it. We could continue on Banther&Brawl;, but without me.
P.S.: I'm with Aussies, not only because of blind revenge against the bloody English tram but also because I honestly think they are the best (flame me if you want).

Dude! What an awesopme Idea, you could have bowlers whose secondary weapons are things like 'leg-cutter, off-cutter, outswinger, googly, topsinner' etc. And batters could have a point defence system that can attack those with a 50-50 chance of working and if it does it blasts it back at the bowler (firing ship)

Thats hilarious, and so true. This board has been getting so full of "I'm making a TC. I'm useless. I need people to do all the work" sort of thing and its really annoying. Lets hope they read this and get the point.

That probably wasn't directed at me (at least, I assume it wasn't) but...
Basically, I don't want to directly involve others as long as I'm not quite sure where I'll be going myself - and I'm not nearly halfway yet. And I am trying to advertise a bit more this time - quod erat demonstrandum - because I figure that should create some extra pressure, thus forcing me to actually get something done.
Anyway, is it possible to make this thread a sticky?

That is not a bad idea, and I think that is an excellent formula for everyone to follow unless it was a TC about a popular TV Show like Star Trek, or Star Wars.
What I would like to see is the ability to have missions play a sound track. For example, when Michaleen dies in the WG story, on the way back, EV could play some sad music, during the wedding or some other joyous event, EV could play happy music. You could really set moods well like that, 'cause some people don't read the text, they just fly, shoot, kill, fly, land, get next mission, repeat. No mood there. They won't be able to miss the mood if it is also portrayed by audio. Only the highest weighted mission should play, otherwise you've got a bunch of competing sound.

Which raises issues of legality. Do you compose your own music? The effort that is required to make good, compelling music that will make people want to cry is usually not worth expending for a product that will be free (unless this is something you are very passionate about). Or can you use other people's music? The Final Fantasy orchestral soundtracks come into mind as a particularly tempting example; generally, words in music detract people from the actual game itself, and these songs are pretty generic and (mostly) lack lyrics. But most of the music belonging to other people is copyrighted...but then, again, you're making something free and they might not care...or they might.
(A notable exception to the comment about music with lyrics I believe to be the usage of Agnus Dei in Homeworld, when the planet is burning, and again when the game is over. However, the music was not composed expressly for the game (it also shows up in Platoon), and the words are not in English. Very few of us would be able to gain access to acceptable vocal talent either...I just don't find video game music recorded with nothing but guitar and keyboard very compelling, anyways.)
With all the controversy over music piracy, I wouldn't be surprised if the label companies did care about music in plugins. The formats could easily be hi-jacked as swapping formats. I'm sure a surge of compressed .rez in fileswapping accompanied by an equal reduction in .mp3 would raise more than a few questions.
