Is Your TC Plug-In Still Alive?

The Upcoming Plug-ins Directory on the EV-Nova.net web site lists tens of ambitious Total Conversions that seem to defy the limits of imagination and reason. Many new ships! Many new missions! Many new systs, spobs, outfits, fleets, ranks, junks, roids, etc. ad nauseum.

HOWEVER...

Many of those plug-in projects seem to have been abandoned. There are many places where the last update took place months, or even years ago. Disappeared without a trace.

SO...

If you are working on a TC, feel free to post here. I'm sure many people are wondering whether certain TCs are dead or alive, and your comments will go a long way to allay their fears.

Thanks for bearing with me and reading through this. Looking forwards to hearing about these still-alive projects ;).

Gundam - in limbo. Time is tight, and I haven't gotten any major work done, besides concepts. I was planning on doing graphics first, but I can not get the designs exactly right, and so have remodelled various things (Gundam about 4 times, Zaku twice, Gouf three times, etc...) quite a bit. On top of this, I have gotten bored with it, which is always bad for development... I will likely pick it up again once I become more inspired.

If it's a secret, how would you know? I've heard some stuff around the EVula forums. There's some hush stuff going on, I for one would really like to know what's going on. All they say is "we can't tell you." There was a friend of mine who was my link to it, but he quit, I guess, so know he's shrouded in mystery, too.

Anyway, there's a secret plug out there, and from what I've heard, it's a doozy. Watch out.

And by the way, if any of you follow the EV Chronicles, there's stories over there that are definite teasers for something.

You never know.

Well, my TC is still on track and should be entering alpha testing early next year. It's been quite a while since I updated the progress log on the Upcoming Plug-ins directory, not to mention the fact that the name of the project has changed. Hmm Seems like a project for this weekend. Check out the link in my signature for details. Website needs updating too hmm gonna be a busy weekend.

I'm still working on my TC, now 1 year and 3 months into development. For the most part, I finished the human section of the galaxy, which although to me seems like a major accomplishment, it only represents about 1/9th of the galaxy.

Progress: 2929 resources, spread over 5 files

Systems: 543 completed, 800 expected**
Planets: 148 completed, 1000 expected**
Ships: 106 completed, 400 expected***
Governments: 25 completed
Outfits: 134 completed, 300 expected*
Weapons: 58 completed
= after variants are added
** = after mission-changed systems have been added
*** = after non-purchasable variants have been added

I've also been working on a new (url="http://"http://homepage.mac.com/captainz/omega_ss/warpgate_preview.jpg")hypergate(/url), which will be an intricate part of a bunch of core missions.

Not exactly leaping forward, but not completely dead. Tried to keep the secret a long time. Tried to keep the ambition level down, too. The plan was a small number of ships and spobs but fresh resources for EVERYTHING I could reach through resEdit -- new sounds, new splash, etc. Did enough of the graphics to get a sense of what it would all look like but, boy, graphics do take some time. And, unfortunately, my modelling skills are now just good enough to earn a little extra cash with. Not good enough to generate the kinds of ships I wanted, or to do them swiftly and efficiently.

The Resurgence is getting nowhere fast at the moment. My Mac is on it's last legs and I'm leaving home to go to uni soon anyway, taking with me my Windows laptop. Hence, getting much meaningful development done is getting rather difficult.

Not to sound like an old fart or anything, but do you have any idea how many TCs I've heard about and seen die since joining the community? A lot. The ones on (url="http://"http://www.ev-nova.net/")EV-Nova.net(/url) are just a drop in the bucket.

Now, that said, my own TC died a long time ago. Then again, I never told anyone about it, so no one got disappointed.
