Anyone know of easy, free or cheap PC 3d apps/tutorials?

I have played with OpenFX, but i cant for the life of me figure out how to work with it. If anyone knows of any tutorials for it, i would be very grateful. I am just trying to start out making a few graphics, and any help would be appreciated.
Thanks

Well, I know of 3 completely free 3D applications:
1. (url="http://"http://www.povray.org")POV-Ray(/url), a bit hard to learn but a fairly good rendering engine.
2. (url="http://"http://www.wings3d.com")Wings 3D(/url), fairly easy to learn, but no real rendering engine to speak of.
3. (url="http://"http://www.blender.org")Blender(/url), very difficult to learn, but apparently very powerful once you know it. There are some tutorials for this if you look around their site too.

I've seen good stuff come out of all three, but with Wings, the renders are usually done in another program. It's more of a mesh editor. Hope that all helps!

(url="http://"http://www.gamedev.net/reference/business/features/gcotc")This article(/url)'s got links to loads of free or cheap 2D graphics, 3D graphics, and sound programs (and compilers and IDEs but you probably don't care about that).

I just got a "full version" of Cinema 4D CE 6 with my MacAddict mag. That doesn't help you directly, but you might want to go to a large bookstore or newsstand and check out what's being offered on the CDs with the PC and cross-platform magazines. "Trial," "tryout," and "demo" apps are either crippled or set to expire after a while, but "full apps" are yours forever for the price of a magazine (and your email address -- you usually end up on a mailing list). You usually get something a couple years out of date this way, but big deal -- apps were plenty powerful in 2001! Be sure to check the foreign magazines, since their offerings often differ.
