I was wondering if there is any place that I could email/send a drawing of a ship and all the info so that they could make it. The reason I ask this is because I don't know how to make 3D models and my 233 imac doesnt have the power to make good models. I can do all the other stuff needed to make a ship except model it. My drawings would show all angles that the modeler would need. Any place like that?

It's not hard to find someone who has the ability. Finding someone who has the time is another matter entirely, however.

My iMac 233 was fine with Strata, but lacking in Infini-D, so I didn't buy it. TerraGen was SLOW... Oh well. I was making models with 5K objects in strata...
I'd be willing to give it a try...

Yeah, but you'll probably have to convince us in some way. Most people who can design are either engaged in making plug graphics for other people or themselves, or they're engaged in their own projects. Also we're a cynical lot, so it will take some damn good reasons.

I don't agree... most artists here will do things for free, but you have to convince them. Jules for example is working on a plug (I believe) for free, I'm working free with two other artists for The Decline (He struck it lucky, getting three).

You are correct sir Actually I dont know of any of the artists here that are getting payed for their work. Even the big guns like weepul, Oynx, Zombat and co. Most artists just need to be sure that their hard work wont go to waste and therefore only work on projects which they know will hae a future... many projects dont

All of us work for free, which means that you'll have to tell us why we should spend our limited time working on your project, rather than our own. In other words, show us what you want, and we'll tell you whether we're interested or not. If we are, you're in luck, if we're not, that's probably par for the course, and you should probably try to learn 3D yourself.

Don't be afraid to post sketches any time you want on the Image Gallery - a lot of the time we're looking for new designs or ship setups, and someone might attempt to mimic you're design, sometimes putting it up for free ...

Thanks guys. I'll download Strata 3D and try making a ship that I have been drawing. I'll have to scan the picture at one of my friends house because I don't have a scanner. My Grandfather has Bryce 3(it may be 4) and I was wondering if it is easy to use.
from an engineers stand point using those 3d programs is unbelievably hard since im used to having size references scale messurments and making objects out of whatever i feal like.
i can make models no problem with the engineering software i have but i cant convert em to use in game but on the other hand given enough time i could make a production blueprint in 3d of any model.
i guess you could say my problem isnt programs out there are to hard its that they are to simple in how the objects are made

Actually, when we have something as detailed as a blueprint to give a look at, youd be amazed how easily it can be done.
i have to be honast, this is a bit irratating. when i first became a member, its was payment this, and not for free that. now it turns out almost all of you work for free? "sigh"
well, how about this then, i made a topic, earlier today. i am looking for a Escape pod bay ouffit graphic for my old plugin i am updating. its needs to have the origanal escape pod in it, but maybe have a small hanger for it, like just a small room.
The plug i am updating never had any oufits graphics for it, mainly becuase i am graphic making ileterate. well, its says ever in my topic out in the main Developer's section.

When you first became a member? All that time ago? One whole month? Man things have changed. Just messin' about.
Well, you probably asked in a way that wasn't respectfull enough. 3D artist here tend to react fairly badly unless stuff is worded correctly. People saying "hi i need this done now, thank u... someone do this," will get "Hey, pay us and we will." Just be polite about it.
I ain't saying you weren't polite, but you might not have been, I don't remember.
Also, we're more likely to work on a tc, than giving someone one graphic for personal use.
Yea, because we're not being paid (no matter how much we'd like to be), people who want graphics will have to give us a reason why their small project is more important to us than the projects we're working on, or the projects that we want to start. But as Zombat said, if the project is interesting enough, someone might decide to take a pass at it.
i have a ship model i made a while ago in that program before my computor had to be reformatted but i dont know how to post it. its compressed in .rar format can stuffit open that?

I'd actually be interested. I'm terrible at coming up with designs so it'd be a good chance to do some modeling. Just as long as you provide all the angles and details are well illustrated; Top, side, front, rear, (bottom if necessary). Feel free to email it to me.

Hmmmm... Quite a perdicament I am in, yes. I have a PC. Actually, several PC's. I have 3D Studio Max r4 and 3D Studio Viz r3i. But I have a PC. And guess what that means? I cannot make the plugins, atleast, not easily.
So, here's the situation:
I would love to add some new starships to EV: Nova, but I cant, so if you(silver_wind) or someone could put some of my starships in or show me how to go around the stupid Mac problem, I would be more than happy to model your ships.
