How can I make RLE's on hated and despised windows? (or basilisk for that matter)
I won't be able to convince my father to release to me his old (3 years) g3 powerbook for months at the least.
As en EV/O/N user who's been around since EV 1.0.1, i think you understand why I really don't wanna wait that long! I converted Cold Fusion (great graphics btw!) to Nova yesterday evening as a "learning experience with shans and stuff". And as a result, I'm a little bit put off with the fact that since I'm not rich enough to affor a mac unless it's a family member's throwout, I can't actually play with those nucely rendered ships.
Also, I'd like to finally get around to playing Frozen Heart/Femme Fatale

Get your self a version of EVONE. It is the best and only windows editor available. I dont know if they have the windows version releaced or not..

I myself do not have any plans to port it for the simple reason that I have no clue how to program Windows. I am, however, open to all negotiation if someone wants to port it.
i belive in order for someone do port it, a person would have to have a windows computer and a Macintosh computer, and both be connected to each other. I don't think windows users can really change things macrelated all to well, and i know mac users have the same problems with windows item. granted, there are programs for each system to allow each system on each other's system, but those are like 80-200 dollars. and even then, they can't provide full quilities of each system.
shoot, i have to stop typing this. anymore, and i'm afraid i'm going to comfuse my self.
in summery: No one is willing to go the exrta million miles it takes to port a plug like this, simply because they do not have a windows, and a Mac, connected. if they did, it would probly shorten it down to 50 miles.
i'm sure there are plenty of people here that have both a Mac and a windows(not me), but do they also have knowlage or programing? maybe, and maybe those that do, just don't don't about other people's problems, and maybe some of those people do. but maybe some of those people who do care, are just plain lazy, and maybe some arn't lazy. then again, maybe the tiny amount left who arn't lazy, do care, have the knowlage, and both computers, just wont do it for free.
well, i don't know. its all theoretical. i'm probly wrong. then again, maybe.... maybe i'm right(probly not though(but....)). blah blah blah

Basically, you are right, one would have to have both a Mac and a PC to make it feasible. I don't, so it is not. I am just putting the offer out there in case someone had the setup, the knowledge, and the desire, to do the port. Since EVONE is shareware the effort would not be nothing, but even then, its difficulty is almost tangible compared to the meager reimbursement.
Edit: I am going to reply to my last sentence of the above: Of course, I am in the identical position, so maybe there is someone out there like me

i'm right? cool. i figured i got somthing mixed up in there though. when i start to think to fast, my typing can't keep up, so i tend to miss words, not here apparently, but i do rarly miss sentances, and even mix them about, or just plain start typing about other things i'm thinking about.

lol, ya. i got on a fast thought track there. i could have come up with about 4 more variables, but i thought i was being abit to detailed. i mean,some of the capable people could just be sadistic, by saying they'll do it, and not do it. that was going to be my last one, but, like i said, i was being abit too detailed. alot of people tend to just large, time consuming paragraphs. i'm really glad there are those like you who take the time to read them. i should stop typing befor i get carpel tunnels syndrom.

Unreal Centipede: Yeah, my 8500/150AV was a great machine. If I tell you that I'm running my mom's old portable (a P3 1Ghz) and that I'm hoping to convince my father to hand over his G3 Powerbook when his OSX teething troubles with his DUAL PROCESSOR G4! - what's the most powerful one? he just went for that... and all he does is use office, write e-mails, and play Battlefront II -, well, when I moved from Italy to the UK, the poor old, but still valiant 8500 got cannibalized by the rest of my extended family. It still has a chip, but has no screen, no HD, and ram... it's sitting sad on my desk in milan, catching dust.
AriosSW: Looking at your site - which I did before I started this post - made me wish I had a mac all the more. I hope some kind soul takes up your offer. I am a programmer - I'm a Software Engineering/AI student - but I wouln't like to try myself on the task. Maybe at the end of the year.

I haven't seen Vamnou in a while, but last I heard, he was making a full-featured editor for windows, which will include his EnRLE program. If you email him, he may send you a copy, but as I said, I haven't seen him in some time.
