I'm Zach Arnold, snowboarder extraordinaire, film star, and 3-time winner of People's Best Guy In The Universe And Beyond award.
Well, not really. I'm really just this guy working on Caribbean, a TC for EVN. I'm fifteen years old, and am homeschooled. I aspire in 3D work, but don't have the patience to do anything excelling in sexiness. Oh well.
Oh, and I play a mean game of Tekken.
That's all, I suppose.

Alright...well, I'm Weepul 884 (or Weepul, or Weep for short...), which is all people I know on the internet who don't know me in real life know me as. I am a habitual user/abuser of parentheses () , ellipses ... , and the tongue smiley.
You'll usually find me on the EV Image Gallery, as my main field of interest is computer graphics, particularly 3D. I also check the Dev. Corner and B&B;, and occasionally the Nova board, but I haven't been checking it nearly as often as I used to since it was overrun with cough uninteresting posts.
I've got a few TC ideas in the works, but I don't want to commit to anything since that leads to vaporware. I'll just say that the names The Storm and Origins are taken.
I've been playing the EV series since Escape Velocity 1.0.1 and I've been on the boards since well before Override came out, so I know a good deal about how things work...unfortunately, most of that knowledge is in EV and EV:O, so I'm rather entrenched in a way of thinking about the engine's story capabilities along the lines of what EV and EV:O could do. I'll have to change that...I may also, sometime along the line, look for someone more familiar with Nova's NCB capabilities as a sort of creative consultant or something.
I guess that's it. I know I'm forgetting something...personal stuff not included.

Ugh, that sentence you quoted was poorly worded anyway.
Hi. My name is Marcos Chavez, 19, and I've been working construction (carpenter) since 7th grade (we needed money, teachers don't make awhole lot of money). I live in Denver, Colorado.
I've been playing the EV's since the 1.0.1 days. I got it on the first MacAddict I ever bought. I was a ghost on the EVN boards for a year before the release, I posted as PunditPunk, or some such, and only because SD was a huge dick. I don't have much experience making plugs, but alot playing them (that counts for something. Right?) I was on the first Star Trek dev team, but the lead on that was an ******* and left without a word. Right now I'm lead on the Star Wars EV:N, and we are rocking along, and offer what help I can to the Great Mistical Unearthly Uncle Twitchy.
Outside of EV:N, I am lead singer/guitarist in my band, the Pundits, (url="http://"http://www.pundits.cjb.net")www.pundits.cjb.net(/url). If you download any MP3s, don't judge, that recording was done last summer, before we got our a new guitarist. My band is a huge part of my life. I've been making art lately, for my new apartment (read: to poor to buy stuff). I've setting up shows for the last 3 years, and love rocking out at shows. "Rock Star: energy drink" in my new favorite drink. I like it when girls dance and sing along at my shows, and I like it even more when I get their numbers. I like getting my dance on at our dance parties. I love hockey. I can't think of anythink else right now.

My name is Peter Farago. I've been working with EV since EV Classic 1.0.1 came out in 1996, when I was in fifth grade, and as such often tend to sound like an old curmudgeon. I've never compelted a large plugin, although I created a set of graphic enhancers to improve scaling on ship sprites and add some larger planet views to the game. I participated in the Final Battle II/Xenocide/Project Epsilon development group, before it imploded, although I don't bear that distinction with much honor. I also had a number of exceptionally neat ideas for an EV Prequel called "Future's End" that I never actually got around to implementing.
Prior to the release of EV Nova, my speciality was coming up with extremely convoluted workarounds to and tricks to kludge new features into the EVO engine, but Nova essentially obviated the need for that. I'm currently hanging around mostly out of inertia, but EV's always something I enjoyed working on.
IRL, I'm now 18 years old, and about to head off to Sarah Lawrence college, where I will probably not be majoring in EV plug-ins, but the Developer's Corner is a tough place to leave behind. So there you go.

/me blinks.
You're the same age as me, and a grade lower (if you're starting college next school year)? Wow...I always thought you were somewhat older...like, already in college back when I first started visiting the boards... Not quite "old curmudgeon" but...yeah.
I remember thinking FB2:Xenocide/Epsilon looked neat. Too bad it dissolved, eh?

I'm Captain Z
Age: 20 Job: Student, Suffolk Community College Location: Long Island, NY, USA Computer: B&W; G4/500 (704MB RAM, 175GB HD, CD-RW, Radeon ME)
Background: I started playing EV around v1.0.4, on my first computer, my Quadra 800. Early on, I tried to develop plugs and cool things for EV, but I never was very good. Years later, I finally had the spare time at college to start a small project for EV. This project later became the Cygnus Alliance, and was released May 2002.
Currently I am working on a multitude of large and small projects, ranging from my TC for EVN in development, EVN Omega, to a plug fragment made to help developers with a premade universe, called Constellations. I always strongly try to stay the sole developer on my projects, to retain full creative control, even at the expense of speed. Expected release for EVN Omega is late 2005.
In the mean time, I also do a bit of beta testing, currently helping beta test the latest version of David Arthur's MissionComputer. I occasionally pass through these parts, but don't post often, unless I have a question or something useful to add.

No I haven't, but if it's what I think it is, well... it why I want for combat, not cuss I a war monger, but because I give back to my great country, and if I do then someone else who may not be able to handle it won't have too.

Around here I do two things. Firstly I do graphics, and I'm not to bad. Decline can back me up there. My second talent is getting into big stupid arguments, getting really pissed off at people I don't even know well enough to judge, and occasionally lose a little respect for it. Registered here as Adzara (note spelling) away back on 14th of feb, 2000. I had my first argument with Mikee J (Soviet Mikee) on feb 15th, 2000.
I like this place... It's cathartic.
Currently I'm working with Decline and Lomax on 3114, which should be good.

I am the dreaded, the totally evil, the insane, and the extremley tired Evil Spoonman. Poor me, I've been up till about midnight for the last week at WWDC, which is totally no fun. The place is cool, but the hours are tiring. As for myself, in my usual state:

I am Joe, I have been playing arround with EV since the verry begining, I am not really arround that much, though I do keep up with the boards. I am most intrested in 3D modeling/animation, and have been known to post to the image gallery on occasion (though it has been quite a while). I have a working knolidge of EVN mechanics, and of various 3D software (Most notably Lightwave and to some extent Maya). I am not involved in any projects, time constraints being rather stringent. Not much else to say, I do all my graphics work on x86 boxes, not that it really matters. Joe

Well, I'm Kyle, but I called myself Buddy Holly for some reason. I don't even know why myself. I'm 16 and just got into Escape Velocity with Nova. I make little plug ins for myself, but nothing too major. I just like to check in and see what other people are working on, because chances are I'll leave impressed.
My name is Martin Turner. I live in Birmingham, UK. I play guitar in a band called Str&nded.; I fence for Birmingham and Sutton Coldfield. I do politics sometimes. In my spare time I go to work in a town called Walsall.
I once developed a couple of plugins for EVO.
That's all.

Who: Sean Hammond
What (real): Plant Bio PhD student at Cornell University
What (ev): most of the EV related things I've been doing relate to working with pilot files. The original goal (before EVN) was to write an application that ran in the background and would generate plugins de novo based on what mission bits were set/cleared in a pilot's file to give the illusion that the universe evolved changed over time (the best example would be that as pers were killed, the application would resurect them with new combinations of ship+weapons based on the pers that were still alive). In woking to understand the pilot file structures, I became side tracked and ended up making a pilot file editor for EVO, a utility that makes a plug in of per based on pilot files dropped onto it, and some EV-->EVO-->EVNmac<-->EVNwin pilot file converters. Most of what I've done can be seen at (url="http://"http://www.hellskitchen.org/~seant/EV")http://www.hellskitchen.org/~seant/EV(/url) .
When: I discovered EV in 1998 totally by accident and was immediately hooked by the idea of the plugins.

This thread really does sound like an EV Anonymous meeting.
Hello, my name here is Jim. It was Jim on all of the old boards, too (in cyan). Strangely, my name in the real world is.... Jim, but lately I've been hanging out more on investment and other boards as 'Jim is Jim' but only because some other slugs beat me to Jim
If you don't know me, don't worry, I am not active around here, only visiting 3-4 times a year just out of nostalgia because I wasted so much of my life on EV and EVO addiction.
Once upon a time I whined a lot about not enough good plugs actually being released so I started a long list/digest following plug developments and helped (very, very little -- mostly whining, editing and beta testing) several popular plugs for the real workhorses like Martin, Bomb and Blazer.
But as I always said, first and foremost I am a player not a developer. Any time I spent on development was an effort to get more good plugs out there for me -- completely selfish motivation.
BTW, Martin and Bomb: either of you going to need me for anything this summer or fall?
Jim
My friends call me "Mike" and the rest of the web calls me "nomuse" -- here I'm stuck with a name from an unpublished SF novel 'cause I didn't realize that was going to be my handle when I registered.
I'd call myself a theater person with way too many art-related hobbies. Been making a living at theater since 1988; freelance and staff positions, carpentry, backstage, and for the last six years electrics and design work in lights and sound. I compose a little when I can (and am working on a deliciously complicated and modern piece now for Renyard's N'gandan Chronicles).
Stumbled backwards into plug-building when I realized Bryce3D could render a sprite. Been messing around with game design ever since (Coldstone, TnT, even DOOM) but haven't managed to finish anything yet. My ambitious TC for EVO was mostly about work-arounds for stuff the Nova engine handles....now I don't know whether to save it or junk it or expand it. I have a small 3D gallery elsewhere but my focus lately has been modelling and rigging stuff for Poser, of which I've sold a hundred bucks worth so far.
Tangentially, I read a lot of history and astronomy, I know about guns from both ends and served a hitch in the 82d Airborne, have finally started travelling and am looking at fares to Hong Kong right now, and my writing has been reduced to an ambitious fan-fic and similar on-line works. 'Nuff said?
