Graphics converter

Can anyone suggest a good (and hopefully free) program that will convert gif and jpg formats to those usable for a program such as EV-Edit?

Another question (now that I think about it) is/does anyone know someone artistically inclined enough to donate some ship graphics for a plugin I'm working on in my spare time? Due credit will be given to the creator (and permission sought if the donator is not the creator).

Check Onyx's site out. EVO ships, but still, the level of detail is great. A lot better than a lot of Nova ships being put out for plugs I'd say. No banking, smaller, and green target images, but well worth a look. Check it out at:
