Today's crash log....

I cleared a square of the Plains of EndlessWind, popped over to the next square, went back to the previous square. Then I cast the "reveal enemies" spell. It gave me the map, and when I clicked on the map to dismiss it, kaboom. Whom should I send the crash logs to -- help@AmbrosiaSW.com? And will the tech support crew forward it to engineering?? (I sent them three crash logs yesterday, but have not seen a response yet.) Or is there a Beenox addres I should send them to?

All bugs/crash reports should be sent to help@ambrosiasw.com. Please include an informative subject heading on your emails(ie. PoG bug - crashes with "reveal enemies" spell). Include your name, OS, memory allocated to PoG, machine chip and speed, PoG version, which plug-ins are loaded if any, and a synopsis of what happened. Include anything you think might aid them in tracking the bug down. If the bug is reproduceable please copy a saved game and leave it around in case they would like to look at it(also mention that this bug is reproduceable).

Ambrosia will forward all bug reports on to the correct people. Your email may or may not be replied to, but they will receive it/handle it.

Thanks... some companies' tech support people don't know what to do with crash reports, nor realize how useful they can be to the people doing the programming.

Include your name, OS, memory allocated to PoG, ...

FYI for anyone reading this later: memory allocated to PoG is applicable for OS 8.x and 9.x, not OS X, which allocates memory dynamically. In OS 8.x and 9.x, select the PoG app and use cmd-i to find out how much memory is allocated.

Most of the rest of the OS X machine info is available by clicking on the Apple menu and selecting "About This Mac".

Also, the Ambrosia contact page requested you include the serial number/key for PoG, or at least the name of the person it's registered to.

The serial number is a bit overkill; your name and the version of PoG will suffice nicely.

Hello-
Have you gotten a reply from me as of yet?

I recieved two emails within the past two days regarding crashes in the Plains of the Endless Winds - I replied to both.

Is the problem reproduceable?

Does it only happen in the Plains of the Endless Winds? Each time you enter that section of that map?

I was just about to post here regarding same -- thanks for the responses. One crash report was from my husband; one was mine.

Is the problem reproduceable?
(slaps own wrist) I haven't given it the usual rigorous testing for that, but will try with the current plugin-free character.

It happens there most frequently... and not each time we enter that map section. Then again, we've both gotten into the habit of saving before we move to the next map section in the Plains.

Hey! Come back here with my experience points!

Just got a crash-on-death in the plains... and that one's an intermittent bug, too. Those are the worst to try to fix. :frown: I fired off the crash log.

Does anyone else run into the crash-on-death or crash when switching map boards in the Plains? 'Cause more data would help determine if this is a code bug or sound file problem or a conflict with the OS X 10.2.4 sound card drivers or something else.

(BTW, if you're on OS X... go to Applications>Utilities and open Console. That will create and keep the logs when you crash programs in OS X.)

Also, go to Console's preferences and turn on "Enable crash reporting". Depending on your own tolerance for annoyance, you may want to also turn on "Automatically display crash logs".

Oh no, here comes another learning experience.
