This is from an ancient topic that kinda just stopped before the answer was discovered: (url="http://"http://www.AmbrosiaSW.com/webboard/Forum26/HTML/003014.html")http://www.AmbrosiaS...TML/003014.html(/url)

That seems to imply there's a way to put a planet in a system but not as a nav default. Ie, a planet can exist in a system but AI won't see it, won't be on radar, player can't select it, but it's there. But nowhere else in the bible did I see how to do this...**

Within that thread, or any other that I tried searching for, could I find any explanation to place decorative spobs that are not selectable within a system. (all nav defaults 1~16 are selectable using the mouse or by having nothing preselected and pressing "L" when close enough)
This question has been puzzling me for over a year, though I thought the issue was answered and I simply forgot the answer. It's only when I looked it up again today that I realize no one ever addressed the question (to the best of my comprehension).
Enlightenment would be greately appreciated.

The pobs 1-4 are all selectable with the hotkeys, and these are the nav defaults that mission ships can be told to respond to. The other 8 spobs allowed in a syst will show up on radar and are possible to land on, but cannot be selected with hotkeys. I haer that some developers have actually had dudes interact with these spobs, and, if inhabited, you can of course land on them. If uninhabited, they become useless eye candy.

From the Bible: **If you don't set a planet as a nav default, the AIs won't "see" it, it won't show up on the radar, and you can't select it. **
I not sure, but I believe this is a left over statement form the Overide bible. The nova bible is simply the overide bible with the new stuff added. However, there were a few things removed from the game that were left in the bible. In overide, the spob resource had a system field in it and the syst resource had spob fields in it. By declaring in a spob resource that it was in a certain system but not declaring the spob in the system resource, you could put it there as unselectable eye candy. The system field in the spob resource isn't there in nova and so I think it's just leftover text.
And the AI will go to any of the 16 planets(assuming they're inhabited) but in a mission you can only tell ships to appear over planets 1-4.
I apologize if this post is hard to follow. It's a little hard for me to follow but I'm pretty sure I've dumbed it down as much as I can without spending hours on it.

Russell: If your interpretation was indeed correct, then all Tim Woozie meant was that "While EV and EVO also have unlandable spobs as eye candy, Nova made an improvement where it is possible to make players unable to use hotkeys to select eye candy now". (Those eye candies can still be selected via mouse and pressing "L" when nearby).
I'm doubting Tim Woozie's statement was that trivial...
Ernimtir: If TomWoozie didn't make that statement, I'd totally believe in what you said (that's what I almost believed in originally).

Not entirely true. As I stated in (url="http://"http://www.AmbrosiaSW.com/webboard/Forum9/HTML/003770.html")this thread,(/url) in my TC I have one system (Sol, as a matter of fact) which has 8 spöbs. Of those eight, #3 is uninhabitable. The A.I. ships will go to spöbs 1, 2, 4, 5, 7, and 8. I have no idea why they don't go to #6.

Yeah, I remembered that thread right after I posted. I'm pretty sure that's some sort of bug or glich though. I'd bet that AI is supposed to go to all inhabited planets. Only thing I can think of, is that the planet might be too far out. I remember that AI used to come out of far off wormholes and that was changed in 1.0.3 so perhaps planet 6 is too far out far the AI to recognize it.
And Pan Sola, I think that maybe TomWoozle's statement was one of those were it was a planned feature of the game but it got cut sometime during developement for one reason or another.

You are probably correct. I kinda skipped EVO (didn't like it) and so I have always interpreted the Bible in terms of EV and EVN only, having never read the EVO one.
Public Service Announcment: My name has two "L"s in it.
This question is so simple I'm surprised no one has provided the correct answer yet. In the spöb resource editor, there is a flag marked "can land/dock here." check it to make the planet landable. If left unchecked, the planet cannot be landed on, the AI will ignore it, it can not be selected with hotkeys, but it can be selected with the cursor.

That answer has been considered, and in one of my older posts in this thread I explained why I thought this wouldn't be the right answer:
...then all Tim Woozie meant was that "While EV and EVO also have unlandable spobs as eye candy, Nova made an improvement where it is possible to make players unable to use hotkeys to select eye candy now". (Those eye candies can still be selected via mouse and pressing "L" when nearby).
I'll take Ernimtir's idea of "removed feature" until someone from Ambrosia tells us what's going on.
All you have to do is put a planet in the system in the syst resource Nav field, but make sure the flag in the spob resource is set to zero (I think it is the rightmost position in the spob flag) so that you cannot land there.

That's pretty much the gist of what Neon Soldier said. Again, in the fourth post in this thread (me reponding to Russell and Ernimtir, I've already addressed the possibility of your right answer as being the right one. Thank you anyways for posting though.
