How does the date system work in Nova? I mean, what are the specifics of it? Things I need to know include: How many days in a month, or does it vary? How many days in a year?
I just want to be sure- I could play the game a bunch and make notes, but that takes a lot of time.

It is the same like normal date system, and you add in the NC.

It just has always seemed like a shortcut or two was taken in the date system. But I guess not. Oh well, just have to deal.
I'm not 100% sure but I think Nova uses the standard calendar except that each month has the full 31 days.

Hah! I knew it wasn't totally simple! I'm trying to make a realistic Tax season, and it has to come every year- so do I need a post-holdoff of 365 or 372? If each month has 31 days, then I need 372- and I need to recalculate the orbit velocities... Anyone know for absolute sure?
Why not just use the first/last day/month fields, to constrain the tax event to only one day during a year, then use a Post HoldOff of something >1. That way, you don't need to worry about just how long a year is, and you can pick which day of what month you want to use exactly.

DIdn't think of doing it that way, with the last day/month set- I was just using a first day/month, and a post holdoff of the number of days in a year. Let me check it and see.
Record a starting date and then take 365 hyperjumps and see if it comes back to the same thing.

Um, that's what I'm trying to avoid....

And be sure to note how many times you land for fuel, too. Or make sure you have enough for 365 jumps.

Or get a big ship (3 day jump) and take 122 jumps. It should end on the day after you started.

or just start on the 1st of a 30-day month and see if it lasts 31.
