I'm making a plugin for EV (not EVO or EVN) and can't seem to figure out what size certain images should be. My main problem is the target pict for when you select a ship with the tab key. Can someone just post the size in pixels? Thanks!

Two of five search results for "Target Graphics": Target, shipyard, comm, icon pict? Target Graphics?

Another good way to find out the dimensions of an image is to copy and paste it into whatever graphics program you use. If it's worth a grain of salt, it'll have a way for you to get the image's dimensions.

Most, if not all of the images in EV/O/N are what I call binary numbers: 1, 2, 4, 8, 16, 32, 64, 128, 256, etc., so you could do what I do sometimes and estimate at the sizes. I believe the EV developer's bible mentions the demensions of the images somewhere... probably in the shďp chapter.

In case you can't figure it out, target pics are 128x64 pixels. Ship/outfit thumbs are 32x32, ship/outfit larger thumbs are 100x100, sprites must be in multiples of 8 (except 80 and 88, which EV has problems with).
The one oddly-sized set of pictures in the EV graphics collection is the landscape shots when you land on a planet. Those dimensions--and I forget what they are--seem completely arbitrary.

I think it's 333x271, which was probably chosen in order to fit an already set up dialog layout.

Actually, it might be the default KPT Bryce document size. Who knows.
Just a note that was mentioned earlier in the chapter.
You can simply open the EV/EVO/EVN Graphics file in ResEdit. If you really don't know how anybody can tell you, then copy an image of the type you want. Paste that into ANY IMAGE EDITOR THAT CAN SAVE FILES, then save it as a pict or similar. Do this and then open it in Quicktime Player (yes, that works) open movie info (command - I) and it will display the dimensions. That is the lowest-tech solution I can think of, just copying it into Photoshop also does it, if you have the app.
