This might be a foolish question, but has there been a resivion of the Nova Bible since the 3/3/02?
------------------ PCs have users, Macs have fanatics.
Not that I'm aware of. There better have not been. Really.
------------------ Those who have experienced love have experienced hate. How strange it is that that does not work the other way.
Those were pretty much my thoughts, but I just wanted to make sure...
Actually I think there was another revision with EVNova update 1.0.2. The text bible that came with the update says "Last Revision: 6/9/02 by mcb"
------------------ "Dreams are as portals, flat visions of mysty places, Fragments bound bellow my surface, but I can write dreams, They flow from me, inscribed yet now unbound, I touch them, and they are real, and they are real " - real MYST
Ah... I didn't even notice there was a copy of the Bible with the updater. Thanks
So the next question is does anyone know what, if any, changes were made?

Mainly a few mistakes, like some definitions were probably mixed up.
Could someone out there convert the .txt Bible to .pdf with bookmarks like the 3/3 version was.
I'd much appreciate it :).

I would... ...but I don't have the time or means to do so. However, I'll eventually make a more-printer-friendly version or it in Appleworks. For instance, I'll get rid of all the extra space, and stick in some abreviations to get lines shorter. It will hopefully be about 41 pages like my last version, instead of the uncompressed 90-something pages I started with. Sometimes you just can't beat paper.

Sometimes you just can't beat paper.
I agree. As soon as a new flavour of EV bible became available, I spent about an hour stream lining the document before printing it out (double sided, two pages per side). I can't imagine working on a plugin using an electronic copy of the bible (well, anything that was fairly complex at least).
That's why I was worried if there had been any changes - I didn't fancy the idea of re-doing the Nova bible and printing it all out again.
Thanks for the information everyone!

I don't have an exhaustive list, but I do know of one or two things that changed.
In the section on Combat Ratings, earlier versions mentioned using the strength factor of shďp ID 128 as a scaling factor for the kill count. This was changed in the 1.0.2 version to simply state that an internal factor is now used. I don't know if this was just a correction of the Nova Bible or if the engine was actually changed to the new 1.0.2 version.
Oh, and the levels at which the various Combat Rating titles are given was changed as well (everything above 'little ability' was cut in half).

Tree killer! (j/k)
Well, I personally managed to print the 3/3/02 version on 4 pages. I edited a lot of blank spaces away, used triple-columns (you know how some lines are so short and there are so much space after it), pushed out the margin to print on as much area as possible,
and I used Courier size 3 font.
That's right, size 3. Do not try this at home if you are over the age of 30, it'll kill your eyes. It's actually perfectly readable if I hold it 20 cm from my face. Yeah, used a laser printer to print it.
d-:
This means I technically could've just used 2 pieces of paper to print it (front and back). I didn't cuz it's not my printer and I couldn't meddle with it. Anyways, using more than 8 pieces of paper to print the EVN Bible should be considered a major offense, and should result in reducing your legal record with all governments by 200.

It has killed your eyes. This is the Microsoft support forum.

Wow, and I thought I was dedicated to keeping a printed version on as few pages as possible. I managed to get it down to 18 printed pages! Althought the last page has only the info on how to generate a pilot log and a debug log (I miss counted - I thought it was going to be exactly 17).
On the plus side, it's perfectly readable...
2 pages per page, double sided, courier 9pt (I think...), most of the white space removed.

Hmm... so my computer running WinXP randomly reboots itself at random intervals, usually between 10 and 30 hours. Sometimes when I'm using it, sometimes when I'm not (luckily it has never rebooted when I play EV:N off an emulator). So how can it be fixed?
And while this is a MS support forum, I'd like to go off topic and talk about EVN Bible.
At courier 3, with enough lighting, it's perfectly readable without hurting my eyes. d-: I think I'm going to grab that newest version that came with the 1.0.2 update and shrink it now d-:

I've got to sympathise with your WinXP problem - as well as this Mac, I have a WinXP PC next to it - it's OS has an assortment of mysterious problems, like sometimes disconnecting from the internet, then reconnecting immediately, then disconnecting immediately, then reconnecting and being fine. There are evidently some rather strange bugs in XP.
What have the trees ever done for me? Oh yeah, the oxygen thing... Anyway, I did mine in a nice, easily readable font. The key reason being so that I could read it. My next version might use a slightly smaller font, but I'll have to weigh the benefits and anti-benefits (I forgot the right word).

cons is the only word that comes to my mind
I noticed recently that Windows XP has an ammusing smilie... check it out!

I was thinking "drawbacks", but I kind of like "anti-benefits"...
You guys asked for it, and now you guys are gonna get it!
( It would have come sooner, but it took me a day or two to get it done)
A formatted and PDF version of the Nova Resource Bible has been released by Carbon Entertainment. Included within is the latest resource bible v.6.9.02 and bookmarked for your convenience.
It should be listed in the EVN add-ons page soon, as its just been uploaded.
Please report any problems or errors, also, it states the website incorrectly as a .com but should be .net
