I remembered seeing a TC plug that totally changed Nova as we know it. The developer made it in to a high seas RPG. The star background was replaced by blue water and planets and spacestations were replaced by sea ports. I only saw one screenshot. Any news on development or is this another vaporware plug?

Yea, I'm still here, and in fact - contrary to opinion - am still working on (url="http://"http://www20.brinkster.com/greenmonster/Plugins/c.html")Caribbean(/url). Progress is going slow, but I have gotten a few things done. I'll post some screenshots when a few more ships is finished.

Mmm, like my idea for the WWII based plug...systs would be locations around the world, one big nebu (world map) would be the map background...land systems would ahve varied terrain, water systems an ocean background, planes ships and land vehicles...It'd be yummy. We had something like this going pretty well for EVO (but without the cool features), its a shame it died.

In the s˙st resource, there is a field called "BkgndColor", this, obviously, changes the background colour.

I think Ssi-Ruuk7 was talking about the Star Wars New Jedi Order plug when he made the "too ambitious" remark.
And let's not forget that Denb is doing the ship graphics, but Admiral Benden is the actual plug designer for the current Star Wars: Nova plug.

Correct. The explanation next to the link to the site said "CD size is the current estimate." Wow, that is the size of full games that are developed by corprate companies. Unreal Tourament 2003 I think is CD size.
