# sprite groups to rle8s and 36 frames?

Yes I know I have alrady posted about them but this is different. I have a group of 32 pictures of my ship but evn bible says you need 36. Can I change this so my sprite group will work. Also, what software do I need to change this group to rle8s, I have already used p2, if I remember correctly.

32 frames?

You don't need 36 frames, just an even amount such as 4, 8, 16, 24, 36, 60. With each frame being a certian number of ş of rotation diffrent from the last frame. eg: at 24 frames, you rotate the ship graphic 15 degrees every frame. To get the degrees of rotation, take 360 and divide it by the number of frames you want. (If you come up with a decimal, ie:37.3, then you need to find anouther number of frames.)

Don't even bother converting to rle#8 untill you've figured the above out.

Dude, what the heck are you talking about? I'm pretty sure that Nova requires a sprite with a set of frames that's divisible by 6.

if i remember, 6 is not a factor of 32. haha... its basic math man, if you cant do basic math, dont make plugs...you'll be stumpted at adding/subtracting ID #s hahah.

Hmm, i never tried 4 and 8 but i thought that they would work because 4 is in even 90 degree incraments and 8 is even 45 degree incraments. I gues i should go off and try them.

Skyfox, I apologize for my remarks in my first post. After re-reading it, I realized that I came off sounding pretty condescending. I wanted to say that having an even number of frames isn't enough, I'm pretty sure that it has to be a multiple of 6, but I'm not entirely sure of that fact.

You know, descswxaqz, the best thing to do would be to try it out. I'm not really sure if it absolutely has to be divisible by 6, but it is the convention that most of us live by. What you do is put your sprite into a blank file, and then you create a shän and a ship for it (just pretty much go by the Nova Bible for that), and then run it through Sprites which you can get from (url="http://"http://homepage.mac.com/dr_ralph/")w00tware(/url). Make sure that after you do that, you either change your file to being a Nova plug, or paste your resources into a blank Nova plug. Wish you the best of luck, and if you find out whether or not 32 frames works, be sure to tell us.

Thank you matrix. You are the only one to answer my second question. By the way, Nova Bible doesn't mention the number of sprites having to be divisble by 6 or whatever. I will try and tell you later how it goes. Thanks for the help everyone.

4 and 8 frames work. It does Not have to be a multiple of 6.

I know. It took me ages to create a ship class that worked but finally did it. And guess what. All you people who say it has to divide by 6 apart from 4 and 8. 32 WORKS. Yes it does. I will try to upload it to my site later for you.
