Black Tron was by far the best. I still remember that x-wing type ship that's front pod could pop off. And the M-Tron helicopter type ship, and the Space police...oh wow. But I have moved on to making far superior things out of their old pieces. Once i get my digi-camera I will post some pictures of those badboys. Matrix

i liked lego, they were fun, when i started rendering my own ships, i used lego as the models
wish i had a scanner, i'd take a picture of the originals.
i use black and grey, or whatever color i feel the fleet should be.

IcePlanet 2002 rocked! They had those bright orange chainsaws and visors, had magnets that attached to rockets, and skis as well. I got all of the sets except the base (The was the most expensive and I didn't really like bases that much.) I haven't used legos for models but the space legos certainly helped in my like of spaceships and such.

I still wont even talk to my mother. She sold ALL my lego's when I was 10, she said that I was becoming a big boy and that men dont play with lego's. After that, my grades went down and so did my creativeness.

True, but I wish there was more basic pieces in today's sets. Ice Planet and Space Police II were the last space sets I collected... they had the perfect balance of mostly normal pieces with very few/any special pieces. Oh, and you guys have inspired me: I'm organizing my Legos. There goes a few days. -david-

That sucks.
Blacktron sets were by far the best sci-fi legos in existence. I had the big 6 wheeled monster truck thingumee. It broke, so after that I decided to save the instructions. Heh.
Ice Planet was cool, but Sirius was neat too, with their androids and ships that could split in half. I say lego should bring back the old old sets they used to make. If they're so keen on making money, a lot of us old fogeys'll fork over the cash to buy 'em.
The problem is they won't listen to feedback. It turns out that there's another lego company that does all the idea thinking, called Lego Futura or something like that. If you want lego to change it's ways you have to target them.
Maybe I'll start my own company to make lego like toys that are actually original, instead of copying movies and such.

OMG! I forgot completely about the space police! Both the origional and the new were totally sweet. I eventually began combining the pieces for Space Police I and the original blacktron, giving the space police black visors... those rocked. I used to spend days with my legos on the floor looking for all the little pieces... Should have kept them in a baggie.

My oh My,
Me and My Buddies Designed a Lego RPG Game.
You had individual guys that you could upgrade, buy weapons, armor and misc items, as well as horses, sharks, etc.
It was really awesome, Each type of sword or gun would do x amount of damage.
I think I lost the instructions though...Damn shame.
Yeah my little brother has almost all those Bionicles..one has a cool puncher thing...But otherwise... :frown:
Good god David. How many legos do you have? Wait, don't tell me. It will just scare me more.

Antihero, those are absolutely beautiful! They should be put into a plug! You've probably got enuff bricks to build yourself your own personal shuttle, Meowx! I have some of the second series BlackTron lying about, but does anyone remember Futuron and the original Blacktron (with the black and yellow pieces)?
Ah.. Nostalgia. I wish that I had gotten some of those sets.

Very nice. I don't have enough MTron pieces sitting around anymore. They're too mixed up with all my other stuff. After thinking about it, does anyone else remember the two versions of Space Police? I thought that version 1 was much better (SP Striker, baby!)
(quote)Originally posted by EVula: **Amen. The original Blacktron was better than the second generation; gotta dig completely black space suits.
The Space Police were also pretty cool (first and second gen). I had the big cruiser, that split into three pieces... I had lots of fun with that. :frown:

Yet another post by me, but hey, this is a long thread, and I tend to reply as I go down the list. Legos are really great for making ships. I mean, that's 3D modeling for you right there. They're tangible, they're visible, they're flexible, and they're great for figuring out how stuff fits together. Again, I wish that I had time to actually play with them. I wanted a lot of the older Technics, but they phased them out and the new ones aren't that good. I really wanted that "Super Car." The black car with the 8 cylinders and gear shift and stuff. Of course, I also wanted the futuron monorail, and I didn't get that either.
Gah! What happened to all the Monorails? At least the new trains look cool. They're probably the best sets out right now.

If the thought of owning more than $500.00 worth scares you, you obviously don't have very much experience with this subject (I've lost count of how much my brother owes my mom :)).

That and not enough "good" ideas, all their old stuff spurred the imagination.
<begin Nostalgia> Me and a friend combined our Legos(if you think Meowx's got a lot of legos think double that). We built 2 armies of mech's that required a couple tables to display. All color coordinated, multiples of each class of mech, and all our own original ideas... <end Nostalgia> those were the days.......
.....oh and M-trons could kick those foolish Blacktron's collective asses.....

Interesting, but unfortunately no. I've got the whole problem of not having a job, and keep finding myself spending money, so I can't afford it :frown:.
I'd post a picture of all my legos, but it would scare most of you I'm sure. My legos were amassed over more years than I've been alive (older siblings are wonderful for that), and I stopped buying new ones not very long ago. I have more boxes/whatevers to store legos than I have not storing legos :).
In any case, I went back and took out a number of my old ships and they ended up being more in quantity and diversity than I originally thought. Some are fairly cool. I've been somewhat inspired to not only dig through and find the rest but also use them as models for ships for EV ships (eventually). Thanks to all of you.
