I NEED a better 3D program besides Strata 3D 3.0.2 (the free version.) I saw Cinema 4D GO in a Mac magazine for $150 and I am saving up for it but I was wondering if it is worth the money. Does anyone have this and could tell me if it's good? Thanx in advanced.

Why not just save up a little longer and go for the academic version of C4D XL? I tried the demos of both, and XL just seemed easier. go to the site and get the demo, and decide for yourself.

The OS X demo is avaliable via iDisk too, if you're lucky enough to have X.
Anyway, I would most definately recommend getting the XL R7 version, it's $300 and far superior to GO, for example it contains BodyPaint 3D (allows you to paint directly onto your models), NURBS modeling (allows you to create dynamically adjustable lathes/lofts etc) and comes with Smells Like Almonds dynamic shaders (Really, really cool )
So, just save that little bit longer... I think it's a good modeling package myself, your best bet is to try demos of apps and finds what's best for you.

No you dont. Pleanty can be accomplished with that program if you are willing to just spens a little time and figure stuff out. Here are some things I have made in the program (Strata 3D 3.0.2 - the free version) recently:
Station:
Current Project (Incomplete):
Firehawk Fighter:
All I am saying is give it a chance and you can accomplish quite a lot. You just need to figure out some of the program's little quirks and anomalies. I found Cinema 4D extremely hard to use when I bought it (and I got XL), so I promtly sold it and am back with Strata. Great program.

C4D isnt hard to use, it's just different. Imagine a Mechanisto user dumped into lightwave, they'd find it hard to use too.
Don't get me wrong, Jules. Strata is a great program and I have done some nice stuff with it too, but it does have its limitations. I'm still going to use it but C4D is more powerful.
