No. Read the FAQ and the Bible.

The 32x32 picts for ships and outfits are stored altogether in PICTs 5100 and 6100, respectively. To patch in new ships and outfits, use pict ID# = 5101+ shďp index# for the ship, and pict ID# = 6101 + oütf index# for the outfit.

As WickedDyno said, read the FAQ and the bible. They will tell you all you need. If you have already rendered the pic for the shipyard description (the 100 by 100 one) then open it in a graphics program and scale it by 32%.

If not select the isometic view and render a pic of the ship from there at a size of 100 buy 100. You may need to rotate the ship round 180 degrees so that you can see the front of the ship in the pic. Then render the same view again at a size of 32 by 32 pixels and that will be the shipyard icon.

Now get (url="http://"http://www.ambrosiasw.com/cgi-bin/vftp/dl-redirect.pl?path=evo/utilities&file;=shipwrite118.hqx")Shipwrite(/url) and open your plug-in with that. Select the ship or create it and put the pics in the right place. Whatever you do, dont use EV-Edit. It is one of the worst programs for destroying plug-ins. And remember always work on a copy so that you have a recent backup it the worst should happen and your plug-in gets corrupted.

Good luck soldier!

As per other posts, make a 100x100 and a 32x32.

Save them, and then use EV-Edit's import pict function. I think you can also cut, copy and paste.

If using EV-Edit, make sure you back up your file regularly.

No, don't say that. Please, you shouldn't always diss EV-Edit. Someone put a lot of work into that program and it's bloody good, actually. Apart from a few bugs, it's really time saving, and if you work on a copy and check it occaisionally with Res-Edit, it can be really helpful. At least just say that he shouldn't use EV-Edit, that it has a high rate of crashing or whatever. Have abit of tact. And also, apart from some very minor problems, I've never experienced any trouble with EV-Edit.

Yes, someone put a lot of time into EV-Edit, but they didnt seem to want to fix the bugs (incorrect PICT id assignments, spins miswritten...) that occur in larger plugins. Maybe if those were fixed then EV-Edit would be the tool of choice.

Anyway, EV Nova is comming out with its own set of (tested) editing tools, and I have heard that there will be a version of the Developers Map for it. For now, I find that ResEdit and the EVO Developers Map are sufficient, but there are other free editing tools out there.
