Okay, I noticed one thing on the gallery, the pictures with cool backgrounds(stars, nebula etc.) always get more views than ones that are just black, like mine. Where can I get cool backgrounds like this???

Well in general we make them. If you have photoshop or a similar program that can handle photoshop 3 plug-ins (eg fireworks, color-it, or even just graphic convertor i think does it) then all you need to do is download (url="http://"http://www.flamingpear.com/glitterato.html")Glitterato(/url) by Flaming Pear Software. This allows you to quickly and easily make nebulas and starfields and if you want to put a planet in too, FP also do (url="http://"http://www.flamingpear.com/lunarcell.html")Lunar Cell(/url) which allows lets you make really cool looking planets. FP have even made one that creates stars called (url="http://"http://www.flamingpear.com/solarcell.html")Solar Cell(/url).
Me thinks someone at Flaming Pear plays EV a lot
Hope this helps, ewan

Unfortunately not all of us can afford lightwave. I could probably do it in Strata but I havent really tried. I will give it a go and see what I can do.

I Use C4D's starfield and cloud shaders to produce a nebula but if i remember correctly there was a program that all it did was create starfields. I forgot the name though. I think it was something like starfield creator or something simple.

Well, if you don't have Strata 3D, the free version of it is at (url="http://"http://shop.strata.com/Product.cfm?Item=59")http://shop.strata.c...uct.cfm?Item=59(/url). It's over 19 mbs, but is well worth it. I have version 1.3 or something like that, because I only have dialup and haven't talked myself into downloading a new version.

The one I have allows animation, and I got it at (url="http://"http://www.download.com")www.download.com(/url).
There is something called Starfield Creator, but it was a bit buggy on my machine: (url="http://"http://versiontracker.com/moreinfo.fcgi?id=4226&db;=mac")http://versiontracke...?id=4226&db=mac(/url)

If you do decide for anything more, these threads will help you get the best and/or the lowest price. A few don't start out that way, but drift into the topic. The last are more concerned with price: (url="http://"http://www.AmbrosiaSW.com/webboard/Forum9/HTML/002017.html")http://www.AmbrosiaS...TML/002017.html(/url) (url="http://"http://www.AmbrosiaSW.com/webboard/Forum9/HTML/002000.html")http://www.AmbrosiaS...TML/002000.html(/url) (url="http://"http://www.AmbrosiaSW.com/webboard/Forum9/HTML/002011.html")http://www.AmbrosiaS...TML/002011.html(/url) (url="http://"http://www.AmbrosiaSW.com/webboard/Forum9/HTML/002046.html")http://www.AmbrosiaS...TML/002046.html(/url) (url="http://"http://www.AmbrosiaSW.com/webboard/Forum9/HTML/002026.html")http://www.AmbrosiaS...TML/002026.html(/url)
Get a photoshop demo. Get Glitterato or paint your own nebulae. Take a screengrab. I didn't tell you this.

You can make a nebula with Strata using starfeild plugin.
or you can do it your self in Photoshop, like (url="http://"http://www.adventuredog.f2s.com/images/nebula.jpg")this.(/url)
that wouldn't really suit a background, but it just proves that good nebulas can be done in PS w/o plug-ins. (plus, I like to show off)
