I've totally re-done the homepage and other portions of Saber Studios, so pay a visit and tell me what you think. If you have a slow connection, the site will take roughly 23.7 years to load. I plan on moving the website to my dad's swift server soon, however, so that should fix the slow loading speed.

Good. You had me worried there for a second.

Using Netscape? Netscape doesn't seem to load it. Try IE if you must, or OmniWeb in OS X if you have it - I've successfully loaded the page in that.

Alright, I think EVula explained why Netscape is having problems with Saber Studios... The java coding for the rollovers is likely screwing Netscape, and it can't read it correctly. I'm going to try replacing the rollovers with plan graphics and see how Netscape likes that. Sound alright?

That'd be great! I like it so far, good job!

Thanks for reporting that, it helps answer my question. First, I'm going to try what I said before (removing the rollovers), then I'm going to pull the website over to my dad's server. Hopefully that will make Saber Studios compatible with more browsers than just Internet Explorer.
Thanks for the feedback.
I think it's the fact that you designed the interface inefficiently. When a given button rolls over, a whole new image has to be loaded just to light up a small part of the button. If you used one image for the button itself and another for the part that lights up, you can link all the variables to the lit/unlit files and drastically reduce the load time.
If you don't know how to do that, ignore my useless banter.

I have been designing websites for around five years now, so I certainly know that rollovers technically require twice the amount of time (compared to a single image) to load. This especially isn't helpful on a slow, f2s server...
looking good, and dont dare remove the rollovers

I'll consider that if they load properly on tmgmedia's server. Thanks for the advice.

It only has to take twice as long if you replace the entire button (which is completely unneccesary in this case, because only a small section of the button lights up).
Try this: Make one image for the text in the first button, and a completely different image for the black square that will light up upon rollover. Call them "name.ext" (with variables replaced accordingly) and "off.ext," respectively. Now, make an image the same size as off.ext, but with the little dot thing lit up. Name it "on.ext."
Now, put name.ext and a variable-source image (name.ext should be a constant) inside an "A" tag. Link the variable to a function controlled by the A tag (I'm making some assumptions about how Javascript works; correct me if I'm wrong) so that off.ext is replaced by on.ext, but name.ext is always name.ext.
This is called efficiency, and if you could help me implement it into my ability to explain things, you'd actually know what I was saying.

Nah, I understood what you were saying (for the most part ;)). I've just decided to take off those rollovers as soon as my graphic and web designing G3 is working again.
Thanks for the info.
Iron Eagle: Cough, cough (I just felt like annoying EVula ;)).
I saw your website w/Internet Explorer, Skyblade. Very cool. I especially like the UE Fighter - I cannot wait until the UE set is completed.
Speaking of graphics sets, what progress have you made on the Confederation set? The EV graphics you posted on this board looked great (we,, maybe not the Confed Cruiser) so the ones you're making are proably even better. Hopefully it shall come soon.
God bless,
UE Patriot

Thanks, glad to hear you finally saw it. I believe you're the only person who has reported noticing that UE Fighter in the top-right corner of the banner.
I'm sure the Override community would all love a UE set, so don't worry about it. I'll get around to finishing it sooner or later...

Actually, I currently haven't made any progress with the Confederation set. :frown: My G3 (which I do all my graphics and web designing on) has been down for the past few weeks, and probably won't be working again for a few days. My dad has been busy, so he hasn't had time to work on it yet...
But once the computer is again operating, the Confederation Expansion set will be underway. Thanks for the support...
