What language is EV written in.

You can never know too many programming languages 🙂

Enginners can actually hear machines talk to them. The rattle in the car's engine teases softly, "I'll bet you can't find me." The computer hums an approving tune when the enginner writes an expecially briliant peice of computer code. The toaster says "Not yet, not yet, not yet." untill the toast pops out. An enginner who is surrounded by machines is never lonly and never judged by apperance. These are friends.

Half right - I didn't have a decent C++ compiler when I started it, so EV is all written in straight C. I do now use CWPro like the rest of the sane people in the world, however. 🙂

It's not written in REALbasic, in case you were wondering, qazwer...

Oh yah, ha ha, real funny, nobody writes anything in REalBasic, I knew it was writting in CodeWarrior, I HAVE codewarrior.

Would you like to place bets on that? More software than you know is written in REALbasic.

How about QBasic? Only programming tool I know... 😉 :rolleyes:

Good ol' fasioned BASIC can kick all those. It dosn't have all those features, but it has STYLE. 😄

Oh yeah, especially that very nice, so non-object-oriented command, GOTO. Great style. Sure.

If it's style you're after, LISP is your bet.

But if I want to do something serious, I go for C. After all, the people using the programs rarely see the style of the programming language...

Yeah! C++ for higher-level stuff, though. C for the system-level stuff.

C++ is great when you're sure you're not going to be reaching the theoretical processing limit of the platform you're aiming for 🙂 That object oriented scheme has so many overhead hits...

C is much better for speed-sensitive programming, like games. You can take a lot of shortcuts in C that are considered bad form in C++ programming.

'Course...it usually comes down to some machine coding too. BLECH. Writing assembly for 68x machines wasn't bad, but writing it for a PPC makes me cry ;_;
