A plug-in idea. Tell me what you think.

Right now, I'm looking for Espi Sans font. After I get that, I'll read the "Bible" and the Beginner's Guide. If I get through that (a big if), I'll work on a mission-oriented plug. No new ships, 1 new gov., and a few changed systems. Here's as much of the plot as I can flesh out for now:

You are a captin of the Cresent and UE space. You have taken sides with the UE and the Miranu/Zachit. You are neutral in the strand wars.
One day you are approached by Paul Knight, a famous mercenary. He tells you he will be creating a collection of mercenary and trading tallent. It will be called the United Intependents, or UI (names are by no means final. I'm open to suggestions.). Knowing your combat prowness, he asks you to help him set up the UI. Etc......(too much would be given away/isn't finalized yet. if I gave you whole plot.)
Meanwhile, the UE, with the help of Crecent tech, has wiped out the human renegades. It wants to colonize in the crecent. You, with your UE contacts, have been chosen to work between the UE and UI to help the UE colonize the Crecent. This will contain many escort missions, as well as MANY other things.
Altranately, if you are a renegade, you can do the Renegade part of the plug. You will work for powerful Renegades, with the mission of undermining, and eventually destroying, the UI and UE. You will face stiff resistance, as the UE has created a new, cresent-oriented fleet that polices against renegade incursions.

This plug will (hopefully) contain-

-MANY missions, for the UI, UE, and Renegades.
-No new ships/Graphics/radicle races/invulnerable ships/etc. I want to keep the whole EVO feel, without making things really bizarre. Also, keeping the original ships lets you complete a plug without getting a "death-with-thrusters" type ship that, while necessary for completing the tough plug, will make you invulnerable in the normal universe. No one needs that. Ditto for outfits.
-My favorite ship, the Neon, as a character in some of the missions. This will be a Igazadra with legal upgrades (no 3000 shield boost, or anything like that. Also, it will have only enough weapons/outfits that it can carry in usual space). In my interest for self-preservation, if it dies, you will most likely fail the mission.
-Tougher missions (i.e.- You will need something stronger than an Azdara, unless you shamelessly use the Monty Python).

Please give me any feedback/suggestions. I might add ideas to the post later, so don't think this is it.

Your probably not going to like my suggestion, but it's what I think you should do.

Try mixing that plot line in with another plug. It's hard to say for all others, but in my opinion I wouldn't want to play it soley for the mission bit. Getting a couple of new upgrades and a ship or two would really help. Don't get me wrong, Your plot is very good. I just think that you need to add a bit more. Having more than one main plot I think would be nice. Good luck

From what it looks like right now, you could use this plud-in with any other. It would end a couple of planets, add a few ship types and fleets (for the AI), and ad a gov. You should be able to use it with other plug-ins. Still, what I'm saying is before I even started the plug-in. I haven't even finished the Beginner's guide yet. As for all these ideas, toime will tell, but I don't think there will be many compatibility probs. You should be able to, say, use a ship/outfit pack with it.

Thanks for the idea,
U-99

That is a bit of an oxymoron 😉

Hmm... Yes it is. I'm looking at United Traders, Allied Traders, Allied Independents (but the initails AI are taken), and Cresent Independents.

What would YOU call a group of merchants/traders/mercenaries who pool their talents against the renegades under one united front (for profit, of course)?

How about the Scavenger Alliance? Or the Usurpers?

suggest that yo include the prospect of working for the council in an attempt to unite the strand against a potential threat, could tie this in with a diplomatic mission for new government.
would require you to design at least three new ships ( alien transport, fighter, cruiser) and probably some more, better human/miranu/strand ones to counter new aliens. would be happy to help with any details for mission plots etc . my address is BrowningJ@greigm.co.uk 🙂 bye

I think it's a great idea. I think people realy to much on making the graphics look good etc. and they forget about the story, or they don't apreciate a good story unless it has graphics. I think you should continue to make this plug-in the way you want it to be. If it's well done, then people will like it. If you need any help or anything I'd be glad to offer you my advice, services, or anything along those lines. I think I would enjoy playing the plug-in you're making immensly.

P.S. would you like a webpage for it?
