Is there any difference between
*Renegade Arada *Arada *Merchant Arada
I'd also like to know the difference between Merchant Helians and Helians.

Enhanced Arada is the best. Azdgari Arada is the second-best.

The only difference between the two is that there is a chance that the Merchant Helian will give you a mission when you hail it. Other than that, they are the same stat wise.
Merchant Arada has 10 more tons of cargo space and a trader rather than warship AI. Aside from that, the only differences I can quickly spot (in Guy's EVO nova port; I expect this matches the original game) are in the weapons and free space allotments.
Arada: 80 tons free, 4 phase cannons Merchant Arada: 52 tons free, 3 phase cannons, 2 rear phase cannons Renegade Arada: 30 tons free, 4 phase cannons, 2 Dispersal Rocket launchers w. 10 ammo.

Whoops. Left a rather critical word ("Renegade") out of the line in my last post that described... heh... the Renegade Arada. Fixed now.
