Someone crapped my data bits!
Oh man, shortly after getting the UE cloak for my ship, my pilot file went bonkers, and refused to save any more info to it. It claims that the file is not one that EV Nova recognizes, and may be corrupted. The file won't save anymore, it just keeps reloading to right after I got the cloak.
Help?
Nobody?
Try duplicating the pilot file, and loading the copy. It's helped me with this problem in the past.

Hrm, odd, but what the hell? Nothing to lose now.
Hrm, bad news. It didn't work. Although I did notice that my previous assumption was incorrect.. it's saying that the file is using parameters from a plug-in not currently loaded! Any idea how to combat this?
Did you use that pilot file with a plugin, then remove the plug? If so, either play with the plug, or start over?
Or, if Pilot File Editor works with Nova, just toggle off the last few missions, then save/dupe your pilot file, and continue playing.
Just some ideas, I have no idea if they will work, I haven't played a ported version of the game.
I'm using the windows EVO/N Converter, which turns the Win EVN into Mac EVO. This happened right after I got the cloak, so I figure it's a bad bit or something.
What's this pilot editor you speak of? I really want to fix this, because if I can't, it makes the UE string unplayable.
No worries mate! I had this problem before too, and nothing infuriated me more the having endless hours of game time played and earned ships and outfits go right out the window, so I feel your fustration. There is an update for Win EVN Override, that changes this and allows you to contiue your current pilot file. Sadly enough, I don't remember the link, I am truely sorry.
Would anyone else, perhaps, know the one I speak of?
Though I must warn you, I had several problems with the update, one being which that it made the game crash and become unplayabe unless I, ironicly, removed the added file labeled Update. Maybe someone could help with this too, no?
Whoa, if that isn't a topsy turvy fix, I don't know what is, but thanks a lot! We'll see if someone can't dig up the link, cuz I'm very much strapped for time right now.
What bits of advice have you already tried?
Go here to get Guy's updater:

My site (link in sig) also has an "outfits fix" that solves this problem, but Guy's plug also deals with a bunch of other issues.
Alas, my plug (and Guy's I expect) won't make the cloak reappear on your current ship -- if you want it you'll have to go back to an older saved pilot file, most likely.
Whoa, that link's out of date. Let me just fix it. ...Done
Spectral-Aphelion, this latest release will hopefully solve your problem.

On the Addons page for EVO. Don't know if it's compatible, sorry.

Thank you very much, Guy. Any idea on what would cause the crash? The game would work with the update's files that overrided the game's originals, "Nova Essentials.rez, Override Data 1.rez, and Override Data 2.rez, but not with the extra "Ľ Nova Override Update.rez" file. I had to delete it, though there were still noticeable changes throughout actual gameplay without the missing update file.
Okay, I know I posted here.. anyway, I can't find the file converter that the newer plugin says I need? O.o
