I'm not sure if I should post this here or at EVN. I'm really enjoying the ENV port of EVO, but the graphics are making my eyes bleed. Was the CF plug ever ported over? If not, would it be just a matter of a LOT of res-edit cutting and pasting?

Woops, never mind. I see that this has been discussed already. How goes the conversion, Captain Skyblade? Can someone with a PC and a Quadra 700 be of any assistance?
Cold Fusion for Nova was finished about a month ago. Unfortunately, my ISP (make that BellSouth) totally sucks and has deprived me of any opportunities to get the port online. Not to mention that school and matters IRL are about to push me over the deep end, but I'll do my best to get on the job sooner or later.

I can't seem to get it to work. I tried it in the regular Nova plug-ins folder and it didn't change anything. Then I put it in the actual Override Files folder, and nothing. Something I'm missing here?

Are you running Windows XP?

Hmmm, not sure what else to say. Not unless you're trying to use the Override release of Cold Fusion with the Nova engine, which several people seemed to be doing at the Nova forums.
That I am not (I had to chech though. I was almost worried I was that big of an idiot). I really don't understand what the problem could be. All six of the different plugs are in the Nova Plug-Ins folder, and yet they don't seem to have changed anything in the game. I thought that maybe I just had a problem with plug-ins in general, but every one that I've used for Nova itself has worked. Oh well...
I'm wracking my brains and not coming up with much. Just to eliminate the possibility of misunderstanding, does the Override universe show up (including the menu screen with the big flashing "Port Authority" logo stamped across it) as it should, or are you still running the standard EVN universe with the Federation, Aurorans, etc. etc.?
Also, do the CFN plug-ins have icons that look like those of other Nova plug-in (as they should), or are they blank? If that's it, Nova may not be recognizing the plugs as plugs.
What version of Stuffit Expander are you using? Maybe try a different one -- my Mac reports the original file to be a Stuffit 5 archive (per "Get Info"), but I might have produced it with DropStuff 7.0.3. Since no one had complained before now, I thought I had avoided the problems that some people have been having with Stuffed plugs.... Maybe not....
Lotsa maybes....

Well, it is running Override alright. Port Authority, cool Override intro screen, all that. The plug-in pictures all look like blank sheets of paper, which I figure is the problem. My version of Stuffit is 7.0, so, I'm not sure if that version has issues or what. It's okay if you can't solve the problem yourself. It won't be the end of the world. I appreciate the input though.
Simply, stuffit 7.0 sucks! update and all will be well.

Short and sweet. I liked it. Thanks, I shall try that.

Share you results ASAP. I need to know of anything to add for an updated Read-Me.
w00t! It worked. Ah praise the lord! Who says commiting sins goes against you. Stuffit 8.0 did the trick. The plug-in works fine (excellent work by the way). Thanks everyone who helped, you guys rock.
You GOT TO BE JOKING ME! 8.0?! :sighs: TO everyone is their own.

Heh, so Stuffit was indeed the problem. Good to hear - that might be the solution for all of the Windows users who have had trouble with CFN.
8.0? Geez, there's a new version every month it seems. I'm still stuck on 5.5 and love it since 6.0+ always corrupts my archives.
I don't know if the problems with Stuffit 7 have to do with using it to produce archives or with using it to unstuff them, but I've now replaced the CFN file on the E.S.W.P. with one newly compressed with Stuffit Deluxe 5.5.1. All the files inside are identical to the old version.
I hope that helps! If downloading troubles persist, let me know. I've had an experience or two that makes me wonder if Comcast's servers are really rock-solid.
BTW -- Skyblade, you know that the Cold Fusion link in your sig is broken, right? I expect you do know -- it's a side effect of your Dreamwave re-do. Age of Empires looks like a heck of a game, and almost of "professional" interest to me.... I'm sure I'd love it, but I've lost weeks and weeks playing Civ II in the past, and I don't know if I can afford a new addiction!

Aye, everything is broken right now. I should probably just upload the plug itself (no web page for the moment) so people can continue to download Cold Fusion. Or link to the Ambrosia server -- either will do. I didn't exactly want to demolish my entire server, but it turned out necessary. It was getting to the point where I couldn't browse through any of the directories without pulling hairs.
As for an Age of Empires II addiction, well... 'tis your destiny. I played the demo years ago (PC) but didn't buy the game -- including Conquerors -- until a month ago. Probably one of the best games I've ever played. My addiction only grows.
Cold Fusion adds so much to the game. Thanks very much.
