Voinia???

Is it possible to take it over? I've been attacking it for about 45 mins, 225% speed and capslock (heheheh scw escorts) and they keep coming. grrrr

Some planets have thousands of ships.
Here's what you do: Get a ship with a fighter bay, find a ship with those fighters, disable the ship really fast, board it, and then capture the fighters, continue to do this until you have 30 fighters.

Then when you have them all out, demand tribute to a planet and they'll only send out 1 ship.

You make it sound as if you can have 30 escorts when in reality you can have only 6 maximum. Maybe I think you mean is disable about 30 Voinian Heavy fighters that get launched out of Voinian cruisers and any other ships that happen to be in the system that is NOT part of the defense fleet.

No,you can only have 6 escorts, but you can have dozens of fighters. For example,if you have a UE cruiser, disable UE carriers, disable the fighters they deploy, use a tractor beam to bring the fighters back to the carrier(they will go inside),then board the carrier and capture ammo. This allows you to go over the store limit on fighters.Flood the system till you cant deploy anymore and the planet you demand tribute from will send one ship to fight you,and usually only 3 or 4 waves(of 1 ship each).

Dont forget that a system can only hold 32 (?) ships. Therefore make sure that you only have less than that number of ships escorting (escort & on-board ships). Otherwise no defense ship will come out from the planet or station.

However, this mean is considerated as a cheating mechanism by the N-D-J Court and is punished by full life sentence.

Even if there's only one ship at a time coming out of the base, there's going to be a couple gazillion waves ... He has six (url="http://"http://www.andrew.cmu.edu/~dsghosh/evosite/scw.html")SCW(/url) escorts, I don't think defeating 20 Voinians is much of a problem. 😉

However good your ship is, conquering Voinia takes a whole lot of patience. I've actually never managed to do it, because I get bored after about fifteen minutes, but those who have done it have reportedly taken nearly an hour to do so.

I believe that EVO's engine doesn't support that anymore, unless you're talking about an older version, I don't know. At least EVC is able to let you do that.

The current version of EVO, you can only swipe ammo from a disabled ship only if you have the weapons for it. For example, turreted rockets wont show up in the swag dialog box if you disable a Voinian warship unless you have the rocket turret weapon that fires them.

Besides even if flew around in a UE carrier and happen to disable a UE cruiser or another carrier, I would still not be able to swipe fighters from it though I have the fighter bay for it. If you ask me, I think that ability should of been preserved in the 1.0.2 version of EVO.

Back when I played EVO, you could capture as many fighters (in your bay) as you like.
I usually had 30 or so UE fighters, and I could dominate each system that I came to. I didnt even know that that newer versions dont allow that.

EVO 1.0.2 allows the capacity to take on-board a lot of fighters, while not docked.

Just wondering if it was possible. Jeez, an hour, how boring.

Or you could go to the planet on the other side of Voinia and dominate that one instead. It doesn't pay as well, but is sure as heck easer. 😉

I've got it. I cheated, but it took forever. Too many damn ships. If you do it in small amounts, you should be fine.
