Guys, this is getting ridiculous. We've already had 3 posts that were purely ooc, and we've just barely reached post 20. Therefore, I propose that this topic be used for purely ooc posts so as to keep the webstory clock stilling running correctly. As such, the first ooc thing in this topic shall be the following:
Thunder, Asriel, you guys have remembered to compose fleets and the like, right?
Thanks, everyone else. I hope this works out.
------------------ The Thunderhead Lance and Ion Cannon: Coming to an outfitter near you!
As I am still somewhat new to these boards, despite my fortunate vocation of writing the Shadows Dawning Miranu, I am unfamiliar with much of the jargon recently mentioned. Namely, 'OOC' and 'IC'. I am unaware as to what they stand for. If someone could clear this up for me, it would be greatly appreciated.

OOC : Out of character. This means that you are speaking not as whoever you are playing, but as you yourself. Often this is used when two players are debating something that needs to be resolved before in character posting can continue.
IC : In character. This is a normal post, as whoever you are playing. The most common type of post, most of what you will see is IC.
Often you see posts that are a combination of the two, with a short OOC section at the beginning or end and the bulk of the text being IC. I hope this has cleared things up.

I'm sorry for slipping there and making an OOC post. Very stupid of me, and not a little hypocritical. Thanks for making the topic, all OOC can occur here now.
Thunder: Enhancing phase cannons and phase turrets is seperate. IC, you mentioned phase cannons - I'd advise you switch it to the turrets, since you don't need the cannons.
Benden: Unfortunately, and somewhat restrictive for plots I'll confess, humans haven't left their own space. Joshua Lothja needs a revision, I'm afraid. I'm tempted to say that it's more possible than Carnotaur's idea (the problem there being that a society which shuns people for the slightest genetic impurity likely won't accept humans, among the other problem), but to be fair, I can't allow either. I'm sorry I need to ask you to revise such a small thing.
Ipvicus: the thermite rocket upgrade should take more in the way of 30 posts, unless the upgrade is very minor. I'd appreciate an idea on the % upgrade of it. 20%? 30%? 50%?
Asriel; if it's not too much trouble, I'd like to know the basic (doesn't have to be accurate) statistics for the phase burst cannon - I'm interested in the concept, but at the same time hope you don't make it massively powerful. <grins>
kauthor; the anti-matter beam is research , not a project. Please cut it from your Project Update, I'll Breakthrough it and tell you exactly what is made. : )
Solel; please, don't feel the need to have a "Secret Project." Anybody shown using OOC knowledge (knowledge that they should not know in the story) will be warned, have their post revoked, and if they continue...well, it's one of the few areas I actually do clamp down upon (don't take that silly ultimatum I mentioned in the sign-up thread seriously, I was joking about that.) I'd much prefer it if you made it clear what you were doing, so I don't have to moderate on anything after it's finished. I also think the ETC (estimated time of completion) is off, considering how soon it'll be completed.
About the Zachit - we agreed on 75% of your military production, current? That means you are building approximately 60 Crescent Fighters, 80 Zachit fighters, and 20 Zachit Aradas, Just an off the wall figure: if you have any problems with it, just ask, I'll change it. It's not as if it took a lot of maths. : )

Right, fixed those problems.
Kauthor....I request that you send some Zachit to Zeldair to support my stand against the North Tip Renegades. How many is for your discretion.
Thanks.
A little rule change only RMA and BattleDoctor will even notice, and neither should disapprove (it actually helps BattleDoctor in his attack on Zeldair, and probably will help RMA at some point.)
The movement of ships is no longer in post per anyone, but posts by that person.
Reason: When an opening battle-post is made, stalling a reply could mean having all ships in position to reinforce the system by the time the defender posts.
In addition, anyone not replying to a battle-post who I think is doing so to try and have a project finished, will...well, I'll think of something.
Okay. I will try and get that fixed at some point in the near future. Right now I am kinda tired, and would very much like to fall over and go to sleep.

I have my thermite upgrade taking so little time becuse I don't need to come up with any new tech to complete it. Basicly all that needs to be done is modifications to my Rocket assebly lines to use thermite warheads instead of high explosives. Since I can launch them from existing rocket launchers I don't actually need to do any refits to my ships.
That said, if you still want me to make it 30 posts I can.

I would like to point out to specops that his post is number 21, not 23. I think.

Thanks for pointing that out, but I'm certain that you discounted CC's and asriel's posts. However, since I was told by Esponer to count his pure ooc post as a post, I decided to do the same thing with theirs. It is more simple to count the number of replies and say that is what post we're on than counting the number of replies and then subtracting two. Also, it won't hurt anyone. Thanks for point that out though, Benden.

Could you explain this rule a little more, please? I wasn't aware that any rule was even in effect regarding ship movements, as long as they were reasonable. Thanks in advance.
Kauthor, I appreciate how you sent 5 Zachit Aradas to my people's aid...but considering BattleDoctor's fleet specs (there are roughly 85 vessels to start out with) they wont be too much more than a nuisance to the renegades.
If at all possible, try to send a few more support ships. Your efforts would be appreciated.
Thank you.
Don't know if this is appropriate, but our President provided me with a great new quote that I just had to add to my sig. I also just had to test it on the web board as soon as possible.

Solel, I have a few issues with your post about the defense of Zeldair.
For one thing, asteroids provide no sensor cover. They stop me from directly seeing your fighters but seeing asCrescent ships have no windows anyway that really doesn't hurt me. Also, you controlled my forces by saying that they pursued your fighters, which is something that is not allowed in these sorts of stories, unless Esponer is taking a freakish and unprecedented departure from one of the cardinal rules of webstories. Lastly, you wouldn't have been able to isolate my ships like that; I made it fairly clear that my ships were staying in a tight formation, giving each other supporting fire, and that as soon as you came within range I would open up on you with Dispersal Rockets.
I will talk to Esponer about this and then we'll see what to do about this. As it is I am afraid that I cannot accept your post.
Some ships would inevitably get separated or they would quite simply have to waste their fire on asteroids to avoid being hit by them.
However, he did control your ships.
But is that to say that he's not even allowed to say that BattleDoctor's ships even targeted the fighters? Why is he allowed to say that? Because it's a logical assumption. And, given what information the Warships in Zeldair possessed, chasing a minor sortie is logical too. And, BattleDoctor, how would your ships know that the Crescent Fighters were there? In my understanding, they followed the asteroids in all the way, so there wasn't any chance of detection. This isn't like EV:O where you can hide behind asteroids but still be seen. Given the fact that Zeldair rates an 8 out of 9 maximum on the density of asteroids scale, there would probably be some rather large asteroids out there. Therefore, it makes sense that they would be completely disguised behind it.
I'm not sure what your rationale is for saying that the ships would get separated... Yes, some fire would be wasted on asteroids, but I have enough firpower to destroy his fleet many times over. Looking at stats in the actual game, dispersal rockets alone do just under the amount of damage that it takes to completely waste a Crescent Fighter, and they have a decent amount of splash damage (I think). He has around 75 fighters... I have 200 rockets in the Renegade Aradas alone. That's not counting the rockets on the Laziras, the SADs on the Laziras and Crescent Warships, and the extremely high count of Phase Cannons/Turrets in my fleet. Suffice it to say that Solel's ships would not exactly last very long.
specops, he is allowed to say that I targeted the fighters, but he is not allowed to describe what specific actions other than that that my ships take unless I tell him what they are, either by saying so in my post or by some other means. I also maintain that asteroids do not block sensors.

Current space based systems cannot see through a spatial object such as a planet. If you want to send a message from satellite A to satellite B, but spatial object A is directly in between them, you would need satellite C to relay the message around spatial object A.
So, replace satellite A with 'Renegade Fleet', satellite B with 'Miranu Ships', spatial object A with 'Asteroid' and you have our situation. If you can find yourself a satellite C then you can see behind the asteroid.

This phrase makes the entirety of your post meaningless (don't worry, I did take the time to read it all anyway). EVO takes place over a hundred years in the future, and we're talking about Strand tech anyway. Besides, in EVO, asteroids do not cause any sensor interference. This is an EVO story. It follows that asteroids would not cause interference.
Because its alien technology it can automatically see through solid objects?
