EVO Azdgari Mission from South Tip

I got the Azdgari mission in South Tip Station to get some cargo from a disabled Arada and take it to Outpost Rei. However, my ship (Crescent Warship) isn't fast enough to make it. And if I land and purchase a faster ship (i.e. a Lazira or something), it takes just enough time that I miss the deadline by one day.

I really want to ally myself with the Azdgari, and not screw up this mission. Last time I played, I ended up with an Igazra, so I don't want to go there again.

I opened up the Override data 2 file with EV-Edit and found the appropriate mission, changing the time limit to -1. But it seems the mission completion date is stored in the saved game, or something, because it still dies on that last day.

Any ideas?

Thanks..

Welcome to the boards! 🙂

My suggestion is to download the excellent Pilot File Editor and use it to place yourself in the destination system.

A ship with a one-day-jump is highly recommended. An Arada works well for this. I do not recommend cheating for this, as the Azdgari eventually pay you so well that it doesnt matter that you traded in your warship. Also, it is good to learn to play in a small ship such as the Arada, though you don't have to. I did all of the Azdgari shield missions in a Voinian Fighter, so it can be done. My suggestion, therefore, is to try the mission with an Arada, as it has a one-day-jump.

Good luck, and glad to be of help.

Oh yeah, welcome to the boards.

I have played quite a bit in an Arada. I'm rather enjoying the Crescent Warship--as I recall, last time I played through I went scoutship->Arada->Igazra. This time I tried scoutship->Freighter-Courier->Crescent Warship. And because I'm rather meticulous (read: slow), I had enough money by the time I bought it to get all of the purchasable upgrades, so it handles admirably.

As far as one-day-jump , yeah, it's nice. But for 99% of the missions I do, it makes little or no difference. And like I said, I'm enjoying the Crescent Warship. This is the first mission I've encountered that was impossible with this ship. It's not even that I begrudge it the ship--I'd gladly downgrade to an Arada or Lazira (which also seems to be one-day-jump ) and then buy my old ship back from component parts later on (I have the money)--it's just that since I didn't think to try that right when I got the mission, the save file is after leaving the planet and I have to land again to get the different ship, which takes 5 days. (!?) And those five days are just enough to make it impossible even with one-day-jumping. Alas.

Somehow, I've also managed to piss off the Agadzari home planet. The rest of their planets like me, but I'm an offender there. Hopefully, if I do enough missions, I can get that up to the point where I can land there. Yet another reason I need this mission.

Well, now I'm just rambling. So I'll stop. 🙂

Beeblebrox, I was searching for "EVO saved game editor"s earlier, to no avail. Mayhaps I'll see if I can find that one you mentioned.

Thanks for the help, guys. And for the welcome to the board.

Edit: My previous problem was fixed. But, I have another slight one. I just finished the "Destroy Zidagar Patrol" mission in Stror, and nothing else came up. What's the next mission?

Think your sig is quoteworthy? E-mail me your quoteworthy message to the world and I'll put it in my AIM profile! If I like it, that is. Ok, yeah, I'm desperate, big deal. Just gimme some quotes.

This is the third time I have been brought to help the Stror problem. Cool. I can be helpful now!

Ok, with Stror, here's the deal. You must do the following missions and take the following steps to continue with the Azdgari string and start the Shield Generator Missions.

1. You land on Stror until you get the 'Destroy Zidagar Photographer" misson.

2. You let the Zidagar Photographer escape. Yes, let him go. Commander Eniret gives you a mission to start Stror's evacuation. (I think you have to scout and destroy some Zidagar warships.)

3. You have Escorted the Evacuees from Stror to safety.

4. You then returned to Stror and defended the system.

5. You then truly evacuated Stror, and the system reverted to uninhabited on the galactic map.

If you have done all of the above, you should be able to proceed to the next step:

6. You went to Xarnes (in the Azdgari system) after doing all of the above, and you met with the shield scientist (I think his name is Mirrifo.)

Glad to be of help.
