I've just downloaded frozen heart and I'm already stuck!!
I've got to bring a password of some sort to some sort of undercover agents on rigel 4 or 5 but there never there!!

I messed up this mission the first time...it's very important to follow the mission instructions EXACTLY on this one. If I remember, you go to one planet first, go to the bar, and ONLY if no one responds, go to the other planet/other bar. Then ONLY give the password if you get the pass phrase.
Problem: I don't remember the sequence of which planet/bar to go to first. In frozen heart, it actually helps to take notes when you first get some missions. Good luck.
Well I think you can only land on Rigel VI at first, as the story line has them not liking you by then. When I did it, I got the continuation from the bar, but it was the wrong one - the mission computer gives you a mission to allow you to land on Rigel IV, where you can get the successful completion from the bar - I actually did both of the outcomes, but I'm not sure how much effect it had on the story :).
I only gave the password to the wrong person by a slip of my mouse once.. And like MartinZ here, I could see no major effect on the story.. shrugs

This mission is there to get the player thinking differently about the game -- typically in EV or EVO you can only 'fail' a mission by running out of time or getting destroyed or detected -- in other words, the things that set the fail bit.
In FH, you can 'fail' missions by making a wrong choice. As this is the first mission of its kind in the game, making the wrong choice doesn't damage the player. However, it's fatal for the poor people you've come to help.
Think of it as a kind of warning shot.
