Some of you may know about "Moderation", a plugin package I'll be releasing soon. What it does is "fix" small things all around the EV galaxy, from making the neutron cannon a primary weapon (thus making it not quite as useless) to allowing you to finally buy the bulk freighter (at full price, however). Little things to make the game "better", but still fair, and each plug-in can be played by themselves (so if you DON'T want the neutron cannon as a primary weapon, but DO want the bulk freighter, you can do that).
However, I'm at a loss when it comes to what should be done for an EVO version. If you could, post here what could be different (please refrain from stupid stuff, like "make the dreadnought have 1 shields" etc.; also, don't mention making bays for each ship, I don't want to add, merely modify), and to be extra helpful, what exactly needs to change to make this happen. All current bays that aren't sellable(Azdara bay,Krait bay) should be sellable. Zidagar phase disruptors should not drain fuel,and should be sellable. Igdazra(sp?) vessels should be hailable. That's everything I can think of right now,as I know the argument against making faction Aradas availiable to the public. As for the "make the Dreadnaught have 1 shields" thing,it's not the Dreadnaught's puny 100 shields that matter,it's the 1,500 armour.But hek,it's fine the way it is. Have a nice day!

Perhaps making the Mass Expansions and Cargo Expansions sellable. I mean, if they can convert your ship, I'd hope they'd be able to change it back,

Well, the cool thing about Moderation is that it is a collection of many plug-ins that do different things (and are all independent of each other), so the people who want one thing, but not the other, can get it.

Actually, I think that is just a limitation of the engine; as I recall, those outfit types are "you-can-buy-only-once" type things. I could create two "undo" outfits, that give you a bit of your money back, but 1) I don't want to add anything to the universe, merely modify (hence "Moderation"), and 2) a negative cash value is just begging to be exploited by people who are about to trade in their ship (ie: load up on as many "undo" type outfits right before you buy a new ship to get even more cash). Sorry.
Although I know its not really relevant,all this "undo" outfit stuff reminded me of an idea I had a while ago;fuel space to weapons space! Make a fuel tank with a fuel capacity value of -100,and a weapons space size of -15 or so,and you get an outfit which converts fuel space to weapons space!Should work nicely on Miranu Couriers. But if you are planning on making factional warships availiable,then I want EVERY SINGLE FACTION ARADA purchaseable(after the correct missions,of course). And the Azdgari warship.

Also, make the Azdgari Warship purchasable. I always got annoyed when I could buy Azdaras as my own ship, but not the main warship of the Azdgari Navy. Of course, I'm always content with an Azdara, but just a suggestion.
You could make the player be able to buy and sell a UE Fighter bay once he does the mission (maybe after the Voinian mission. I've got just the grahpic for it!

I think it would be kind of cool to get access to the Igadzra turretted beam (the one that appears in the Zidagar mission string), but I don't see how it could be done without screwing up the storyline, since it never appears when the player is helping the Igadzra. It might be better to simply leave that one out rather than try to work it in somehow. I just thought I'd mention it.
Other than that, I think most of the big corrections have been mentioned already, I'll be sure to post any other ideas if I think of any.

Hmm... You could get it in the Zidigar string, by simply changing the "Assasinate Igadzra Scientist" to "Capture Igadzra Scientist". Maybe even change the scientist to be Anna Baloshova to add an interesting twist.
Hmm... I've always wanted to sell my fighter bay off of my UE cruiser.. That reminds me! You could make the Dreadnought buyable... could make the Heavy Fighter bay and/or Interceptor bay buyable.. I know this is adding, but the Emalgha Warship really should be buyable... along with an Emalgha Bay that has 2 fighters. Oh well, that's adding..
How about adding (oops.. there's that word again) armor to ships that dont have any? I'm not talking unfair... It would be better if you could capture azdaras for your azdara bay.. or crescent fighters or zidigar fighters for your bay. (2-4 points armor would be tasty- extremely hard to disable w/o destroying, but still possible) You could also set it so that the fighters couldn't be captured to pilot, just for bays. I know there's a way to do that, it's just not used. I know it wouldn't be too hard to give UE frontier vessels an Emalgha turret or two, and the Emalgha warships a blaze turret or two. Just about everyone has played that string before so no one will care whether or not they've played a mission for it. what else... Oh, why dont you make it so you can buy more than one layer of armor? And make it so you can sell armor? I always thought shield capacitators were too weak.. you can add to their strength, can't ya? Emalgha turret and cannon desc.'s say that they are explosive shells.. shouldn't they detonate at a distance like flak-type weapons? Their damage wouldn't have to increase, just their blast radius by a few points. Hmmm.. make the Phased Turret sellable. Would it be extremely hard to get variation in the ships used by bounty hunters? I get sick of destroying all those CW's... Maybe the occasional upgraded Lazira? (400% shields, more ammo?)

I third the motion to make the Azdgari warship purchaseable. Also, if you could increase the range and accuracy of the blaze cannon and turret just a little , that would be great. I know it was supposed to be rushed into production and therefore inferior, but come ON!

i think there was a plug for this before but perhpas you could make it so that you can buy as many guns as it says in youre ships gunslot and the same for turrets as well

You would have to supply 100x100 comm dialog PICTs for the Igazra and Igadzra Arada, and remove the can't hail flag from the Igadzra government resource. I don't remember offhand which flag that is, but (url="http://"http://davidarthur.evula.net")MissionComputer(/url) 1.1.0 will be able to do it.

I don't have Infini-D, but I thought the EV Override models package included the camera angles pre-set in the scene files or something like that. I think it's mentioned in the package's readme file.

Probably true. Now that I think of it, all the models are complete with the needed camera angles...
I'm using a set of small plugins that do a lot of what is being suggested here. I've got the Krait fighter bay sellable; the cloaking device goes with you to new ships; the SAD/SAE modules don't flash oddly; the graphic on Luna is the one with Earth in the background; the Phased beams can be sold; the gambling icons are the ones from EV instead; there are Igadzra ship comm pics so you can see them when you have them as escorts; and also the Strange asteroid is a coke machine as apparently intended. On top of this I have gone through and fixed a few spelling / grammar errors in the various missions and put that in the file too.
I didn't keep the ones that allow UE / Voinian, etc. bays to be sold, mainly because the pics they supplied were not quite upto it.. but if all this will help out, or just speed this up, I could upload the file with it all. I'm using Basilisk II and only emulating a mac, but the file should transfer just the same.
One thing that I still don't understand is why I still have issues with the larger ships not displaying correctly, in the 270-360 degree directions.. I used to think it was from using a really slow computer, but it shouldn't be that now. And the fact that the Magma ships didn't have the same problem confuses me. Maybe something to slightly shrink-but-still-make-look-good those ships.. that's anything 'bigger' than a UE Freighter :).
And one more thing... if you're feeling like making some missions - a small string for the South Tip Renegades would be cool. Sort of the style of the other Renegade strings - maybe it could start on one of those otherwise unused Strandless systems in the south... in fact while at it, they really need a string too as it's sad to waste all that space. I was thinking the Renegade one could have them set up a new base in the Siqwe system - the only proper named but uninhabited one down there - and the Strandless one could have them lose a settlement to the ST renegades, just as the human renegades do.. just a thought, but I'd rather not have it involve new ships / outfits.
