"I'm up for a little danger, count me in," Thunder replied to Carnotaur with a smile. "When do we leave?"
------------------ Ad Astra Per Aspera - "A rough road leads to the stars"
Scorcher and Carnotaur walked through the halls of a special Federation testing facility on Kayia. Following them were Thunder and Rima. Soon they all entered a large room which had large amounts of odd looking machinery, equipment, and several strange chairs. Carnotaur turned to Thunder and Rima. Well have to sedate you in order to use the equipment. Dont worry, it wont be painful.
Thunder and Rima looked at each other and nodded. Two Federate scientists moved forward and then sedated all of them using special shot-giving devices...
-----------------------
Thunder suddenly awoke and looked around. He wasnt in the same room, he wasnt even in the same compound. He was really disoriented and dizzy, but finally got up and looked around. He was still on Kayia, or at least he thought so. As he continued to look around, suddenly, he spotted a city in the distance. As he wondered what Carnotaur could possibly be up to, Thunder started to walk towards the city, which he realized that the city was the capitol city on Kayia itself.
Walking towards the distant city, suddenly, Thunder spotted Rima wandering around near the bottom of the hill that he was on. Walking towards her, Rima looked quite bewhildered. Whats going on? Rima asked Thunder as he passed her.
No idea, but I intend to find out. Come on.
The two of them continued walking towards the city. Fifteen minutes later, the two of them finally reached the city. It was just like a normal city, except for one difference; there was no people. Absolutely no one. Thunder began to get worried, until he saw Scorcher and Nova6 apporaching him. Whats going on here, and how did Nova6 get here?
Scorcher looked up towards the top of one building. Ask Carnotaur.
But Scorcher... Rima started, and Scorcher raised his hand. Ask Carnotaur. He can explain and prove the whole thing better than I can.
Where is Carnotaur? Thunder asked.
Scorcher looked towards the top of the building again. Up there, he said, pointing towards the high sky scraper. But I can get you there faster. Scorcher then took out a communicator and talked into it. Bring them to the top of the building.
Roger that, a voice at the other end responded.
Suddenly there was a flash of light, and Thunder and Rima found themselves two miles above the city. But not for long. They werent just hovering up there, the two of them shot down towards the ground. Within a split second, the two of them found themselves on the top of the building. They hadnt been up in the air for more than one hundreth of a second, and it only really seemed to Thunder like they had just appeared on top of the building in the first place. However, there was something strange; they hadnt felt any wind rush against them. It was all strange, and Thunder knew something wasnt right.
As soon as the both of them got over the initial dizzyness and disorientation, Thunder saw someone several feet away looking at a nearby sky scraper. He had a long black leather overcoat, black glasses, black boots, black pants, black shirt, black everything. Suddenly, the person turned around and Thunder realized he was Carnotaur.
Moving forward, Thunder spoke. What is this place?
Carnotaur looked at him. Its called the network, a virtual reality of sorts. The idea was first concieved by Scorcher. He thought we needed a new system to conduct meetings between world leaders when we were all in different systems and unable to get to a specific spot fast enough to have an emergency meeting. This was the answer. No matter where you are, you can hook up to the network, and then, bam! Next thing you know, you think youre on Kayia.
Another good thing about the Network is that it happens at about twice the speed in the real world, saving time and allowing us to make quicker decisions.
However, the system has yet to be perfected. The places where people appear is at random, and your body gets really queezy, dizzy, disoriented, etc. whenever you either join the network or leave the network. Some people who tested it even fainted or threw up. Not very nice. Fortunately, weve been able to perfect it somewhat so that you dont get those systems, but it still isnt a completed project.
Is that how Nova got here? Rima asked, Is he still on Voinia using his own equipment?
Yes, we sent the equipmented needed to him a few days ago. It was part of the test to see if it would work over long distances.
How real is the network? For instance, can you get hurt in the network? And can you just do the normal things you always do, or can you do more? Thunder asked.
Carnotaur just looked at him. We can switch on and off whether or not you get hurt. He then turned to the other sky scraper. And yes, you can do much much more than you usually could.
How? Rima asked.
You have to let it all go. Fear, doubt. Free your mind.
Carnotaur immediately turned around and started running towards the edge of the building. As both of them gasped, Carnotaur leaped off the top of the building, flew far and high into the air, and then landed on the nearby sky scraper. He wasnt hurt, nothing was damaged. Carnotaur then turned around and grinned at Thunder and Rima. You can do that to. Just remember, it isnt real. It isnt real.
Thunder took a deep breath, remembering what Carnotaur said and repeating it in his head over and over again. Finally, he rushed forward, and jumped. At first it didnt feel like he was flying, but Thunder then remembered what Carnotaur said. Free your mind. It isnt real. Thunder suddenly found himself shooting through the air and landed on the second sky scraper, though a little harder than Carnotaur had, and Thunder struggled to maintain balance.
Rima then tried herself. Once again, she did pretty much the same thing as Thunder, though she actually fell once she landed. Carnotaur helped her up and smiled at Thunder. What do you think of the network?

BACKGROUND DEVELOPMENT
The swirling vortex of green and white that was the wormhole lay undisturbed. Its inhabbitits had seen much travel through the corridor in times past. Indeed whole civilizations had passed through, but eight thousand years ago it saw the last travelers before the wormhole became silent. The last to come were amazingly advanced, beyond doubt.
Many dozens massive ships, spanning miles in length and width, along with massive warships and swarms of fighters came through. They had been the majority of an ancient race and civilization called the Kisani. They had come through this wormhole and eventually bring them far beyond the Rim of known space into a vast, vast galaxy. There they would spread into five different groups: The Kisani Kingdoms, the Kaleb Trimutive, the Draet Sydicate, and the Kisani Commonwealth. The Commonwealth was the third oldest of the group and their technology would be on average around Edien level, yet their ships werent as heavy and were made of strong yet light material.
There had been three other major races in the galaxy they had landed in. One was commanded vast holdings in the south and commanded litterly billions of ships. Yet with the arrival of the Kisani, the other two races, who were peaceful but forced to fight, they held the border. The Kisani over time expanded into the vastly unexplored space in the eastern sector of the galaxy, and by the Earth year 2171 have in their command literly hundereds of thousands of systems and contless worlds, moons, stations, and even a few asteriod baces. These worlds have held many races, but they became part of the Kisanis new empire, and their cultures were intergrated into the various governments. Over these long years, the Kisanis population grew considerably as their birth rate was astounding for two thousand years before coming even to human birthrate. The Commonwealth alone held over 23 trillion Kisani alone, with many races besides. Their navy held millions of vessels and endless resources and held at their command over 2000 systems.
There had been trouble with pirates and the enemy called the Raseki. As the centuries passed, the latter withdrew from the borders of Kisani space, but there had been many a pirate uprising. Thus the need for warships and technology. The Commonwealth was set up as civilization to explore the unknown, scientific research, and peace and diplomacy. Their government was set up in a council and senate from which a represetive, regardless of race, was sent to meet thrice a year and on important issues. The head of the council and leader of the Commonwealth was the Chancelor. His word decided the finality should an issue become deadlocked.
Yes, the wormhole had been silent for 8000 years. Those who dwealt there slept in peace for such. This changed all of a sudden. There was a great stir in the wormhole as a busrt of light hurtled through the hole, and a few creatures stirred. They were ancient, amongst the first to come into being when this universe sprung to life. They cared nothing about the happenings in realspace, slipstream, or hyperspace and feared nothing for their safety as they could not die as mortals knew it. The wormhole would exist and cease to exist and it could not be destablized. Yet the blur intrested the creatures, and they saw something intresting. To the creatures objects that passed were seen as if a human could see a person running by.
The blur was five ships, two of them one and a half kilometers long; these two were colony ships, holding a quarter million people each. The other three were warships, one of which was a massive carrier; the other two were smaller and more along the lines of cruisers. The crusiers were but half a kilometers in lenght, and the carrier along the lines of 30 meteres longer. Had anyone seen these ships and then see the Saer before the ships destruction, they could see the resemblence. They were defentily Kisani in orgin.
The ships passed on and the creatures drifted back to sleep to dream whatever it was they dreamed. The ships continued on their course undetered, unbothered by the creatures.
Arik Kael ran down the corridors of the Dreden, a modified Commonwealth crusier. The Kisani was like the rest of his race, with a slight bronze skin tint and black hair and blue eyes. He stood six feet tall and was dressed in civillains clothings; at his side was a pulse blaster. But his rank was otherwise; he was a major and commander of the Dreden.
Arik was hurling to the main bridge of his ship, on deck three. They were near the point of entry of the wormhole, where the small fleet would exit into the Derakan system. There was a world habbital there and most likely uninhabbited. The major was exhilrated at the thought of returning to the home galaxy. At the age of 130 years, he was amongst the youngest people in the Kisani Commonwealth Navy to rise to the rank of Major, a high achievement indeed. He was always intrested in exploration, but had decided to go military to serve his people to a greater level. He was proud of his achievements and commanded one of the best known ships in the Commonwealth. Besides he also loved to fly and was a born pilot.
Arik came to the edge of a corridor and found a porthole leading down a few decks. Without hesitation, the Kisani jumped down into it and fell a great distance...to be slowed by an anti-grav belt. The belt turned off as it stopped its wearer a few feet from the ground; Arik landed on his feet and ran down the corridor leading from the exit porthole. He reached a massive door and it opened at his approach. It opened to reveal the main bridge of the ship, a massive area. The main screen of the bridge loomed ahead, showing the wormhole outside. The area about it was glowing green and black as is swarmed.
When the Commonwealth had learned that this wormhole would appear and would lead to the Home Galaxy, called the Milky Way, there was great awe. If calculations were right, the wormhole would be stable and stay at its location near the heart of Commonwealth territory for a thousand years. It would appear every 45 hours and lead to the one location, Derakan system. Funds were raised and volunteers, all Kisani, wre gathered. Five hundered thousand people, men women, childeren, all families, would be sent through on two colony ships. Three warships, a carrier and two Dael-class crusiers would accompany them for protection should the need become paramount. And this expedition would be under the command of Major Arik Kael, a Kisani whos record was great and his proud and ancient lienage dated back over a hundered thousand years to the old galaxy. He was in a word, perfect for the job.
Arik entered the bridge and took his command chair. All eyes turned to him and the crew went back to their jobs. An old Kisani stepped up next to him, his eyes speaking of many centuries of experince. His uniform showed him as the head of security for the ship. His name was Dran Makel, an officer of great service and a close friend to Arik. The major looked at Dran and saw a padd in hand. Whats the news, old friend? How far have we got until entry?
Dran looked at him and responed, We have about two arns left. Might actually do some good to see real stars instead of that damned wormhole. I tell you, Arik, that even though that thing brought us to our home ages ago, I still hate looking at it. He grew serious and handed the padd to Arik. Theres been another odd burst of reisdual eon energies, followed by an instantaneous life sign, but it might just be a malfunction says the tech. Ill be a bloody drake if hes right. Any idea?
Arik took a look at the padd and sighed. For the past twelve arns, there had been random bursts of eon energy that had come and gone in an instant. This followed by a secondary life sign, but was too fast to disapper to track. He was getting tired of this game, but after looking over the padd, handed it back to Dran. He put his hands agianst his head and sighed again. I dont have a clue, Dran. Eonology was never my field of specialty; archeology and alien cultures are. Just wish I knew what this blip was. And its not a malfunction or sensor ghost; I know the Dreden better then anyone else. I was there when she was built.
Dran nodded and went back to his station. For much of an arn, they sat there, doing there duties. Arik was growing anxious though; in an arn and a quarter they would be there. He wouldnt know what to do when he got there. That was when the sensor officer shouted. Arik was at her station in a second. The eon burst had come back again, but it was gone in the instant. The blip came next and Arik was about to return to his command chair when something weird happened. The blip stayed, in its exact postion, and for five minutes Arik stood. It didnt dissapper. With a determination and curiosty, the major turned and said, Dran, deck eighty-one. Sound intruder alert. The old Kisani nodded and left the bridge, right behind Arik. They were soon joined by a security team.
They quickly covered the decks via portholes and lifts. When the team neared the location, in the gardens court, Arik motioned for them to step back. With a motion to Dran, he entered the room with his friend behind him. The guards stood by to cover should fire be opened. Arik and Dran soon found their quarry and they pointed their pulse blasters at the figure. The quarry was lying on the floor, seemingling unconscious. Blaster in hand, Arik slowly approached the figure and when he saw for the first time in good light, the major stood agape. Dran was at his side in an instant, and he to looked down.
Arik snapped out of it and knealt down. The figure was Kisani, a male perhaps two centuries old or more. His face was covered in ash and grime and he wore a strange uniform that definitely resembled Kisani work. The clothing itself was torn and burned into some places. At the mans side was a holster with a strange rod-like object. Arik checked for a pulse and found one, very faint but steady and the Kisani was breathing. With careful ease, Arik took the rod from the holster and examined it; the rod bore a simple leaf design in the center, tinted green. He handed it to Dran and hit his wristcom. Major to medbay, weve got someone in bad conditionin the garden. Med team in three now!
Arkynesha System
A patrol was on duty fifteen light minutes from Kayia. They were in a word, bored. Nothing happened in their sector of patrol and longed for some action. They had not seen the Saer when it had jumped from slipstream some time ago, and they had not seen any other action. In all advents, the term they used was bad misfortune.
Their day was about to get better. As a fighter passed a spot, a bright light flashed outside his cockpit and the pilot let out a startling oath. When he turned about, he saw a huge green and black hole in space open up hugely and the pilot simply gapped. As the portal stablized, five objects jumped out in a blur and then the portal closed. The pilot turned his ship 230 degrees to veiw the five objects. They were ships, two of them massive and almost two kilos long bu lacked any weaponry. The other three were somewhat smaller, just over a kilo in length each. The pilot recognized the simialarites: they macthed similar in design to the Saer.
They were Kisani ships...
The pilot gulped and opened a channel to Kayia control. Uh, Kayia Control, weve got some company. I also think the Major Charlie should see this as well...
OOC: got permission from Carno to do this. Objections, compliements, and voodo curses email to me. Dead bodies mail to Carno. Thank you.

The energy armour is now complete. All Horoth ships are being fitted with it. This will take 1 more post. ------- Construction of a shipyard in Quo-Neth has begun, and will be completed quicker than normal, as normal cleanup operations are not taking place, since the system is empty, and the debris will bother no one. ------- The Horoth envoy in the Milky way, having seen the reports the the work with the federation on enhancing the mines, decides to go and talk to the Federation to find out more about this galaxy, and anything that may be of importance. ------- Horoth ships are congregatinggg in Bacreth, incase the Akrahd decide to invade, since they havent even done any raids in a long time.

Scorcher rushed to the bridge of the U.F.S. Dragoon and looked out into space. "Report?"
The sensor lieutenant looked over the sensor readout consol. "Several unidentified alien vessels, sir. They look somewhat like Kisani in origin. They don't have their weapons powered, sir."
"Very good," Scorcher replied. "Alien vessels, this is Fleet Admiral Scorcher of the united Federation Alliance. We are a powerful government and have over 50,000 ships in this system alone. Please identify yourselves."
Arik looked puzzeled as he heard the message over and over. The language was unknown to him and the rest of the ships as well. It had been over an arn since the mysterious-looking Kisani had just appeared onboard, and that one had seemed very badly wonded on closer appearence. It had been a miracle that he even lived. The rod that the Kisani had carried had been discovered as a weapon that could turn into a staff and perform various functions. Right now the staff was at Ariks side, to use until the unknown intruder was awake.
The Major looked at Dran, who just shrugged his shoulders. What do the sensors say? What are we dealing with? This seemed to be a strange thing indeed. The science officer heard his commanders words and tossed Dran a padd.
Cacthing it defly, the security officer read it. After a moment he spoke with intrest in his voice. We seem to have a varity of races and ships in this system. Our databases have cross-examined them; there appears to be Miranu, Kayian, various Strands, a few Kisani, and...humans. Ariks eyes sparked with puzzlement; humans were a primitve race that shouldnt have been in space for another thousand years at least. Odd, so very odd. The sensors indicated primitive weaponry and ships along side that of technology similar to the Commonwealth, perhaps just below them.
Arik tapped his command console and activated the long dormant auto-translater. The Kisani Commonwealth had long prided itself on knowing many languages, and many people who didnt have the compactity to understand were injected with a nano-byte that allowed translation possible. The translation program had been installed on every ship inside the Commonwealth in case of something gone wrong however. When Arik listened to the message from this Scorcher, he spat out an oath.
He looked at Dran and the old Kisani nodded in agreement. It could very well be a threat as well as a communications attempt. He tapped his console again and opened a link to all the Commonwealth ships. All fighters launch now! Your only goal is to protect the colony ships from any threat. Warships bring weapons grid on full and bring weapons to bear. I want any ship that so much as makes a hostile move to be blown out of space. Dont fire otherwise unless on my mark. Major Kael out.
From space there could be seen many silvery fighters launching from both cruisers and the carrier. A few launched from the colony ships as well, and all came to postion themselves around the colony ships. Flares of blue light flashed up over all ships before dissapering, indacating their shield grids came online. Soon after weapons powered up, and that was the end of all action.
Arik tapped his console again, this time establishing a link to this Scorcher that had contacted him. His face appeared on the screen of the Admirals ship and the major started speaking. This is Major Arik Kael of the Kisani Commonwealth. Bear in mind, Admiral Scorcher as you say you are, that we are ready to defend ourselves. Your threat has been notified and decided upon: any of your ships that so much as makes a move on our colony ships or her fighters, or for that matter any of our ships, we will open fire. I hope we can come to a peaceful conclusion, and to answer the question of one thing: What the hell are you?
"The Matri- erm... I mean the network is impressive. I don't know how you managed to configure it to work with the physiology of so many different races - Kayan, Human, Strand, Miranu, but it works flawlessly, save the somewhat undignified entrance."
"As I said, we're working on that."
"Of course. Any new technology takes time to perfect. It's impressive as it is. Flying and jumping from building to building is quite fun, though I can't help but wonder - are we just here for a demonstration, or is there some other reason as well?"
-----
Several of the Kayan vessels in orbit of Kayia watched the Kisani ships launch their fighters and activate their shield grids.
"Who are they?" a Gunship commander asked.
"We can't identify them positively, but their transponders identify them as Kisani."
"Kisani? That's a name I haven't heard in a while..." the commander mused.
"Who are the Kisani?" his comm officer asked, curiously.
"We don't know for sure. With the exception of the few we've met since our return to Kayia, they existed only in legends, stories from a long time past. It's been so long... any other record of their existance must have been lost over time. There hasn't been much contact between our two races, but all the information we do have describes them as an advanced and ancient civilization, predating even the strands. In the three hundred years since Kayan interstellar travel began, we've met with little but rumors and stories, but none portray the Kisani as hostile. And those we've met since returning through the portal certainly haven't been hostile. Why would these Kisani act so aggressively?"
"Perhaps it was something the Federation said," the tactical officer ventured. "Maybe we should make it clear our ships mean no harm?"
"It's a good precaution," the commander replied. "We don't want an intergalactic incident here. Hail their lead vessel, and I'll try and make our intentions clear."
"Channel open, sir"
Looking at the image of the silver ships on his viewscreen, the commander spoke. "This is the commander of the Kayan Gunship K.A.S. Luminary speaking. I don't know why you've powered up your weapons systems, or assumed such an agressive posture. I can't speak for the other races present, but I want to make it clear that the intentions of all Kayan vessels and people here are peaceful. As far as we know, the Federation has no hostile intentions either. I realize it may mean little since the Federation controls the Akrayhek system, but on behalf of the Kayan race, welcome in peace to our former homeworld of Kayia."
The comm officer closed the channel, and the commander waited and watched the viewscreen. "Hopefully that will be enough to prevent a misunderstanding or an attack..." he thought.

Rima grimaces around at the surroundings. This was dangerous. What if they hadn't made the jump? what if a....Rima shakes herself and stops with the what ifs. She looks around. It was a good place for meetings since no one could spy on them here. She looked up when Thunder asked his question."Any news we haven't heard yet? Battles? or is this just a little test?" Mixed feelings about that. Battles could be good or bad. ah well. She awaits an answer.

OOC: Sorry, I've been really busy and distracted lately with me getting Starcraft. But I hope that GH will speed up soon. I just wish more people would post more often...
Carnotaur shrugged. "This is mainly just a test. I hadn't really thought up anything for it." Then he looked at Rima, noticing that she looked a tad nervous. "And just in case, if you hadn't made that jump, you would have fallen to the ground. Fortunately, you would have only felt like you had keeled over and had not fallen 50 floors. It's all part of the programming and stuff that makes up the network. Now, any questions?"
Meanwhile, on the ground, Scorcher disappeared in a flash of light and went back to the real world...
OOC: I had to put that in, seeing that Scorcher can't be on the bridge of his flagship and in the network at the same time.
Scorcher looked around at the new arrivals and thought about the situation. He had obviously acted a little too aggressively, like he often did in times like these. He hailed the Kisani fleet again. "This is Admiral Scorcher. I apologize for my aggression towards you, it's a thing I often forget to keep in check. I can assure you that we mean no hostile intentions, unless you are allied with the Edien Empire."
Arik and Dran both eyed each other and shrugged. They had no idea who the Ediens were and the Commonwealth had never encountered a race bearing the name. When the Major listened to message from the Kayian vessel, he looked at his friend and said, Odd things should be expected, eh? Maybe we should get down with things now. Get my fighter ready for prelaunch. Also look in on our guest; chances are he wont be waking up for a very long time. Dran nodded and went back to his station to order the things taken care of. Dran was first officer as well as security officer.
Arik hit his command console and opened a link to both the Admirals vessel and the Kayian who had hailed him. Kayian ship, rest assured we will not attack you. We just make sure that none will get a shot in towards our colony ships. Admiral Scorcher, I will stand down alert on my warships, but the fighters stay; the Commonwealth trained me well in that matter. In the mean time, Im coming down planetside; weve much to discuss. Major Kael out.
The link went dead and Arik rose from his command chair. As he went, Dran tossed him a very small metal object, which was caught. The major placed it in the palm of his hand and it suddenly burrowed painlessly into the blood system. It would desolve and eventually work its way throuhout his system. It was a nanite which allowed translation of lauguages to be understood. As Arik walked down the corridors of his ship and jumped from deck to deck via portholes, he checked his pulse blaster to make sure it was loaded. He stopped by a weapons locker to grab another blaster and holstered it to his other hip. Grabbing a few extra energy clips, we was ready.
He reached the bay and in a moments time a silvery fighter launched from the crusier. It flew with amazing grace and speed towards Kayia. It was fast, not as fast as Federation azdara, but it was fast. As Arik engaged auto-pilot, he fingered a data crystal which contained data on the entire Commonwealth histroy, of its races and the systems they controled. The Kisani Commonwealth had one purpose when they started this journey: recolonize their home galaxy. Looked like they werent going to be able to that now.

The Rarkyl commando looked at the unconscious Grathon. "Still can't believe it was that easy..." another commando next to him said.
"Believe it. These Ediens get rather cockey about their security, and besides, they'd never suspect that we would do what we did; they were too worried about being attacked by imperial Edien forces."
Grathon stirred and slowly opened his eyes. "Where am I? What am I doing here?" he asked.
"Well, right now you should be sleeping," The Rarkyl said, grinning, "Because you'll need as much energy as you can get when we reach Rarkyl Prime."
---------------
Scorcher turned to his friend, Captain Firebird. "Kael? Wasn't that the last name of Hawk Kael? The Kiran leader?"
"Guess so, but really, I can never keep track of all these names," Firebird replied, shrugging.
Scorcher shrugged off the thought and turn to his security lieutenant. "Make sure there are a lot of guards ready when Major Kael lands. Meanwhile, helm, set us down on Kayia. I want to meet with Major."

A Federation captain approached the Horoth representative on Kayia. The Horoth turned away from looking at the horizon, and smiled at the Federate officer. "Yes?" he asked.
"Sir, Fleet Admiral Scorcher told me to give this to you. It's the latest report from our intellegence section. Several weeks ago, the Voinians invaded the forward Edien defense line surrounding Miranu space. During the battle, an Edien Battlecruiser was disabled when it collided with a frigate coming out of hyperspace. The battlecruiser is being analyzed as we speak, and already some information was retrieved. The Voinian Secret Service relayed the information back to our intellegence network. Here is what they found," the captain said, handing the alien a data pad.
The Horoth nervously looked at the data pad. It read;
"Message to: Edien 3th Grand Fleet Commander From: Edien Battlecruiser Terra Khala Text: Grand Admiral Vochec. Recent reports from the 2nd Grand Fleet Command states that the Rarkyl Navy has not attacked as much recently, and seems to be trying to recover from some of the blows we delt to them a few weeks ago at the Battle of Takar and the Battle of Navogkak. This means that ships from the 2nd Grand Fleet will be able to be diverted to your group, meaning you can increase your attacks on the Horosk Communism. Grand Admiral Natang would have sent this message to you directly, but an ion storm has prevented them from doing so, making us a relay until the storm ends. -Captain Den Char
The next piece of information was:
Edien Species Information Database Species Name: Horosk Height: 5' 0" Description: Grey, human like skin, a head which is similar to that of a skink, and are able to hide themselves from sensors and even partially camoflage themselves with their surroundings using their chameleon like skin. They also seem to "Hover" using some unknown method and actually fly through the air, but not nearly as high as a bird. The Horosk use this ability when they board other vessels, and thus have earned themselves a name for "Infecting" ships as well as being pirates and ghosts. The Horosk have fairly small but sharp teeth and have excellent nocturnal vision. They also have extremely large hands, arms, and fingers. Of course, they only have four fingers, three of which have large claws and are used for grabbing prey. Classification: Defensive/Resistant Proto-Biped Species Status: Resisting Edien Attacks Directive: Attack and Destroy at all costs
The finale piece of information was:
Edien Species Information Database Species Name: Horoth Height: 5' 2" (Estimate) Description: Unknown, Relative of Horosk Classification: Defensive/Resistant Proto-Biped Species Status: Unknown Directive: Seek Out and Counqer
OOC: RMA, you can write the response of the Horoth representative. Just note that before now, the Horoth had no idea whether or not the Horosk existed, or that the Ediens knew about the Horoth.
Admiral Tach'usd awoke from a terrifying nightmare and sat straight up. She tried to calm herself down as she looked around at the surroundings. She was in her cell on S-570, and she was still a prisoner. She layed down again, exhausted. The Federation had treated her nicer than what the Voinians were probably treating Admiral Ly'rak. As the Edien admiral thought of what was going on in the rest of the galaxy, what was happening to Grathon and Ly'rak, and how the war was going, suddenly, the door opened and several heavily armed Federation soldiers entered. They were followed by a Federate Major who was carrying a black breifcase. The major looked at the soldiers. "Strap her into the chair."
The soldiers quickly tied Tach'usd to a chair in the center of the cell as the major opened his breifcase. Inside were several needles filled with all sorts of chemicles. He took up one and approached Tach'usd. "You know what this is?" he asked.
The Edien shook her head.
"Sodium Penathol (sp?). It's a truth syrum. Once we inject you with it, you will tell us all we need to know. And don't worry, we know it works on Ediens."
Tach'usd clenched her teeth as the major injected her with the needle. He back off and put the needle back in its place. "Now, we will wait for 15 minutes to let the drug take effect."

Ariks fighter flew with amazing skill and manuverability when it reached the atmosphere. It was like a brillant flash of silver as it went down. Commonwealth fighters were designed to work well in space as well as to glide in atmospheres, as if to work in dual roles. The sport of air-gliding was also a popular sport as the ships engines would provide enough heat for the currents to let the ship glide before having to turn back on. Thus, who-ever could stay aloft the longest would win.
The fighter closed in on the landing spot it had been designated to. As Arik Kael got up, he hit the final commands. He moved to grab a few things, among them a small wooden box that held a data crystal and as the ship completed landing sequence, he unholstered his pulse blaster to check one last time; it was fully charged. Holstering it again he hit the hacht pad and as the door opened and the small plankway lowered. Walking down he saw Admiral Scorcher and headed towards the federation officer. With in a few feet he stopped and placed his right forearm across his chest in salute before lowering it. With a calm manner coming from years of commanding a crusier he spoke.
Greetings, Admiral Scorcher. I am Major Arik Kael of the Third Fleet. In the name of the Kisani Commonwealth I greet you and your people. He lifted and held out his right hand to present the wooden box. This box holds a data crystal of our Commonwealths history ever since our arrival to the Kajen Galaxy nearly 8000 years ago. We offer this knowledge to you in a hope of peace.
After reading the information given to him by the Federation officer, the Horoth representative looked up to reply: "My people went to what you call the Megellanic Galaxy to escape from the Ediens. We thought our people would be overrun by the Ediens quickly. It appears they have managed to live, and even retain their hold on the space we inhabited. If you could transmit this information through the wormhole between our galaxies, so that my people knew this information, I would be grateful. While they will not be able to reply until the next opening, they will at least know.
"I know my people would want to contact our cousins, and a new arrival in your galaxy would appear to be the answer. Your news services have reported a race appearing in Voinian space, and they apparently arrived from another galaxy, using self generated wormholes. If you could put us into contact with this race, we might be able to take the battle to the Ediens home galaxy. Recontacting the Horosk would mean a great deal to my people.
"The fact the Ediens know we escaped their clutches is worrying however. A single battlefleet of theirs could overrun every race and government in our galaxy should they attack suddenly. Our mines would provide some defence, but a concentrated attack would be able to get through. Contacting the Horosk would allow us more options.
"Thank you."
Scorcher looked around for a quick second at the surrounding heavily armed guards, then turned back to Major Kael. "Thank you Major," he replied, taking the box. "As I have stated, I am Fleet Admiral Scorcher, third-in-command of the entire Federation Alliance. The leader of the Federation is President Carnotaur. We have been fighting the Ediens, a massively powerful alien race from another galaxy. As for which galaxy, we're pretty sure that it's Andromeda, though we could be incorrect. Their navy numbers in the millions, and though only a small portion of it has been detached to our galaxy, it is still nearly impossible to destroy them."
Scorcher took out a data crystal and handed it to Kael. "And in gratitude, here is the history of our government, as well as the entire recorded history of this galaxy. I hope you will find it interesting."
As Psack awaken, the life of the 6 millions of Sladereis was enjoyable. The only fact the they knew they were not alone in the dark again. For the higher rank of the Solidarity, the hamster in their heads were running crazy. They had nothing to base their future. The older ones knew that the situation would end in a less darker way than what the newbies thought. Nelson Psack convoqued all members of the concil to discuse about a new schedule.
Pria evoqued the posibility of an sedentarisation in a remote point of the Milkyway. Some disagree, the Sladerei Solidarity could not hide themselves like they did earlier for too long. After a chaotic reunion, Psack calmed everyone, raised himself and started his speech that was also transmitted to all Sladerei ears:
- As you know, expansion is are future. I guaranty you a better world in a few year. We will not be as catatonic as we had been for a few years. Our nation will grow on a quadratic way, we might suffer during the first days of this new sedentarian journey, our from our faces falls opf sweat, but in the end, our kids will build on a stronger foundation. They will be able to aqmeliorate the Sladerei's philosophy, architecture, etc. When I will have closed to communication chanels, I will be on my way to encounter the Voinians's chief to analyse with him the Milkyway map to find a new homeworld. On this, I wish you a good afternoon, salutation to our children. Click.
Psack entered Nova6's office followed by his assisitants: Pria, Yulsrua and Plyst. The 16 eyes analysed each aspects of the room: the desk was empty, clean of any matter; the data emmiter was warm: either it was receiving infos or Nova6 had used it a few minutes ago. The disposition of the Voinians heros had changed: Nova6 had a portrait more alive, his eyes were dimed by a light unpresent on other pictures. The six men realised that those eye were cameras lenses reflecting light. They knew it by the emmission of IR waves of the microchip. They sat. They stayed there for three minutes immoble as a rock. When Nova6 appeared, he sat comfortably on his leather cathedra, looked at every Sladerei in their four eyes. Then, something special occured to the attentive eye of Plyst the youngest man in the room. He saw Nova6's fingernail glitter. It wasn't Nova6. Psack, Yusrua and Pria realized rapidly that they were fooled. The data emmitter was in reality receiving the data for the holographer or something. Psack raised himselfe and said:
- We are here for another matter that does not seem to awake an old reflexe: cannibalism. Your situation of lion and our position of mosquito is the worst thing. If you permit me to be less gentel, could I suggest you to let my assistants have a drink of that pecular alcool. Nelson walked towards Nova6, knowing that he couldn't open the drawer, he touched the fake hand, opened the drawer picked up the bottle and walked towards his ship, followed by his men. An offence the the Sladerei nation had been committed.
A lie is death.
The Sladerei would be ending towards another destination by themselfes or escorted by another government, not Voinian.

OOC: Even though the Voinians probably wouldn't do such a thing, I'll go along with it.
-------------
Nova was contacted via his lieutenant that something had happened at the palace, and thus was forced to leave the Network for the time being. He walked into his office to find two heavily armed guards, a Voinian lieutenant, and another Voinian sergent.
"What happened?" Nova asked.
The lieutenant turned to him. "The sergent heard that the Sladerei wanted to meet you. So, he had the genius idea of creating a hologram of you to stand in. Unfortunately, the Sladerei learned out about it, got really angry, and left." The lieutenant then gave an angry glance at the sergent.
"Take him out of here," Nova ordered and the sergent was taken away. Then he called in Admiral Nahar, who had recently returned from the Miranu front. "Yes my emporer?" he asked.
"I want you to prevent the Sladerei from leaving Voinian space. Explain what happened, and ask for their forgiveness. If they fire, fire back. We're much stronger than they are, so don't worry about getting beat up that much. However, if they refuse, just let themg go. There isn't much we can do about it."
Nahar noded. "I can have 1,000 vessels ready almost immediately." He then saluted and walked out towards his ship...
----------------
Admiral Ly'rak was awoken as light flooded into his pitch black cell as the door opened. Several heavily armed Voinian guards stepped in, followed by a Voinian lieutenant. "Hello 'Emporer' Ly'rak. We're taking you to see the interrogator. It'll be one of your last chances to tell us what we want till we send you to the Federation."
Ly'rak grinned. "And? It's common knowledge the Feds don't have very extreme torture."
The lieutenant just laughed. "That's what YOU think. I'm sure your friend Admiral Tach'usd would agree."
As Ly'rak lay stunned at the news of Tach'usd's capture so quickly, the Voinian guards moved forward and dragged him away to the interrogator...

Arik took the data-crystal in hand and placed it into his PDA. He tapped the device and soon it was whirling at great speeds as the major assimalted the information. Early on in his military service, Arik Kael had been given a choice to serve the Commonwealth by expanding his abilities, which he accepted without hesitation. A group of scientists had implanted him with a sort of cyber virus that expanded his mind beyond the norm of any Kisani or any other Commonwealth race. It allowed him to relive his memories and allowed him greater clarity of sense and memory recall and information assimilation. After a few moments, the data stopped and Arik removed the data crystal and placed it along with his PDA into its holder.
The recent events in this galaxy worried the Commonwealth major; a powerful race with technology equal to the Commonwealth had invaded, and they held jump gates similar to those the Kingdoms held in times long past. Mira had been decimated and those Kisani who still remianed were all but slauthered. It seemed like hope was still posible however; it seemed this Fedearation and the Voinian Empire, which had somewhat evolved beyond barbairsism, held the ground. It appeared also that a group called the Kiran played a few small key roles in this situation, it their history did date back to Kisani beginnings. Arik was however a Commonwealth Major and could not take part in such things unless under certain situations.
He turned to Scorcher and said, "It seems you are at a crucial point in history, Admiral. You face slavery and annihalation yet you fight with bravery. My ancestors were right in that the 'lesser races' could one day prove good. Personally, other races are just as equal as Kisani. We have a situation in our home galaxy akin to yours and we did over 8000 years ago. We fought off great enemies, and the one at present has remained quiet for more then three hundered years. The Commonwealth is not weak, Admiral, for we have technology akin to the Ediens, except for these 'interdimesional' jumpgates. We had jumpgate technology at one time, but it belongs to our allies now. On this Kiran group, I would like to meet this Hawk Kael, he seems intresting and may be of my clan."
He took a break from talking before continuing. "Admiral Scorcher, as a high-ranked individual, you must know that powerful governments don't trade in weapons or ship technologies. The Commonwealth has a strict non-interference policy that I as a Major must follow. Thus this threat you name the Ediens is none of our concern until it either attacks us or proves to compromise our plans. We however, do aid friends and allies who are trustworthy. And with this jumpgate tech, they could enter our Homeguard Galaxy and threaten Commonwealth territory."
"Tell me, Admiral. Do you need any help from the Commonwealth, as officaly, I do recongnize you as an ally..."
Scorcher shook his head. "Sorry, but Hawk Kael died in the battle of Mark not long ago, and that battle is only now in fact being finished up. He was on his command ship when it was forced to self-destruct when numerous Edien warships surrounded it. He died with honor serving his people, the Kisani, and his government, the Kiran. Too bad that we had to loose such a leader. His second-in-command, Commander Sisay, has taken command."
Scorcher showed Arik a picture of Hawk Kael on a datapad, and then chuckled a bit. "Heh, it's interesting, isn't it? That you and Hawk have the same last names that is."
Admiral Johnson looked at the assembled fleet and then at his objectives for getting it ready. "I think now would be a good time for some "Seal Trials" as you might call them. We've never really tried an actual battle with so many vessels. Give an order to the fleet; we're moving out to the Mavs system to conduct space trials for the fleet. Tell part of the defense fleet to come along to, we could use them to simulate the enemy fleet."
A lieutenant turned to him. "But won't this make Akreyhek a little vulnerable with half its defense fleet gone?"
"Don't worry lieutenant. The systems far too heavily guarded by other systems to let any Edien warfleet get past."
Carnotaur then turned to Rima. "Actually, there was one thing I did want to speak to you about, though it has nothing to do with the network really. I just thought I might as well tell you now. For the last few weeks some of my engineers have been working on constructing over 180 different atmospheric converters. Their purpose; to be part of the terraforming effort on Mira. Of course, they are, for the moment, just to allow us to land on the planet and gather some information about what it'll take to terraform Mira back to its original state.
"We've been working with the Voinians for a while, and soon we're going to both going to each send a fleet to Mira and work on setting up for the terraforming effort. Of course, we would appreciate it if you yourself came with your own fleet to Mira as well. We're were planning on looking at the main capitol, Kenra, first before we did anything else. What do you think?"
