OK, here it is. I beat a few voinian missions on the string, but my shihp is a supply ship and they want me to destroy a convoy, which is like 2 destroyers and 3 carriers. I set my toe in that system and 20 missiles hit me, i go flying back and i dissinegrate. How car i get a frigate of a better ship? Or should i get a heavy fighter and fly circles around them so i dont die?

You could be a little evil and use a cheat plug.

You don't necessarily have to use a Voinian ship, y'know...

It does not take rocket science to figure out you need a bigger ship to live.I personally would recomend a cresent or a turncoat.

Er..you'd be better with a Crescent warship, by far.

Yes, that is true, but at that stage in the Voinian missions I doubt you'd have enough credits for something like that! I'd recommend an Arada if you're on a budget. Then you can run away from the missiles and all, especially with an afterburner. Maybe head up to Miranu space and do the diplomatic missions, and get an Arada while you're there :). Those Voinian missions do get quite difficult like that from quite early on, compared to the UE ones :)!
I would also suggest the Arada, with swivel canons so you can concentrate on riding your horse. While you are north, you can even start plumdering renegade ships to have fun... and to get more money to by a new UE passport to do the UE string after. Your worst enemies will be the destroyers with their hunters missiles.
Have fun,
Nelson

Ship advice aside, you'll fare a LOT better in battles against UE ships if you use asteroids as a shield against enemy hunter missiles.

Money, to be honest, is no probem whatsoever in EV:O. A simple Earth/First Century run, which safer than...safe things...can earn you, with enough patience, any ship in the game. Just a pointer.
An Arada, I'd agree, with swivel phases is the best bet, since UE ships post lesser threat than the constant stream of hunter missiles.

Yes, but those three words "with enough patience" are why I almost never trade commodities at all :). Plus of course it's much more of a challenge to do the missions in lesser ships and actually earn what you get. In a real life situation I'm sure they'd have rules of arbitrage set up between such close systems at least, to make such simple profits impossible. Either that or they'd assume noone would put that sort of time into something so dull :).
I found I made money pretty quickly by doing the Voinian cargo runs. I also used a plug* called Lightning Jump to help speed me on my way. With the Voinian cargo ship (or how about a Miranu Heavy Freighter?), you'll be able to do a whole lot of runs at once, so most likely a few circles around Voinian space will net you a bundle.
I saved enough to buy an Arada and the various engine upgrades, which I really needed to evade all the UE fighters. The swivel phase cannons, as someone mentioned, also helped a lot.
*It can be a cheat plug if you want it to be, but I just consider it a convenience if you use it just for cargo runs.
