With the joint station between the Horoth, the Kayans, and the RA complete, the new Arada ready to go, only awaiting the new missles from the RA, the system grid running perfectly, Horoth ships refitted to use the new technology aquired so far, things where indeed well. The Minefields had not had to be replenished since the new replication technology had come online. The resources saved from that where considerable....or they would have been had construction of mines in the normal manner been changed to replicators only. As it was the Horoth found the paperwork had been lost somewhere. So mines had been stacking up in military supplies. Luckily the Horoth now have a use for them. The new mine laying freighters would have ample supply. More resources could be diverted to other things. The extra subspace engines taken off most of the mines would also come in useful.

Once Carnotaur was finished talking with Commander Sisay, he then went back to the meeting. Before he entered the room, however, he was met first by admiral Johnson who pulled him away to look at a tactical display. "An Edien armada assaulted our fleet in Igadzra just yesterday. We took heavy losses but the Edien armada was destroyed with the help of another Voinian fleet.
"Quite frankly, this has spelled the doom for the Igadzra Section Edien Navy. With that big of a loss, the Ediens don't have enough ships left to make any more offensives against us, at least in the Igadzra section.
"This also leaves Notil heavily exposed. We still have a lot of ships, and so I say we try and invade and capture Notil while we still can. What do you say?"
Carnotaur thought for a moment. "Okay, then as soon as you're done I want some minefields placed around Notil to defend it while we build up for the final drive in Igadzra space."
"Just remember that a large portion of our availible mines were used up to mine the Notil/Igadzra Hyperlink," Johnson reminded.
"Even so, the mines we do have would provide an adequate defensive measure in case the Ediens did come in, they would be slightly damaged by the mines we put in there."
"Okay Mr. President," Johnson replied, and Carnotaur went back into the meeting room.

Kryptauros leaned back in his comfy, cosy, chair and relaxed. Now he had a new shipyard completed and the 4 stellars were colonized. The colonization would bring in new needed money for the Akrahd Empire. The shipyard would increase ship production a little more. The plasma upgrades would be done next post along with the new armor.......things couldn't get any better.
"Sir there's been an explosion in the laboratory! You need to come quickly!" Markolov screamed. When Kryptauros finally arrived at the laboratory it seemed that somebody was trying to sabotage (sp?) the place. "Who did this?!" Kryptauros yelled from the top and bottom of his lungs. "He did sir,"Markolov said as he pointed to a charred blackened body. "How did this happen?!" "We think that this is one of the remaining pirates that got away when you took over NSI-482. Our gun platforms missed him and he kamakazied into the laboratory thinking that this is where you might be. That is my best guess sir." "Where's Menslie?!" "He was out of the laboratory when this happened." "What about Galahad?!"
"He's over there sir, dead on the floor."

SilverDragon sat calmly at the head seat of a long steel table. The room he sat in was plain grey, completely unadorned, with only the table, and a number of seats, in the entire room. This was the famed Council Chamber, in the Gateway, the name given to the seat of all Igadzra Union operations - generally a palace. The Gateway was huge, but unlike the rest of the planet it was on, the planet of Cerberus, it was empty. The entirety of the Gateway was plain. Grey walls, grey floors, and plain steel furniture. It represented the Igadzra perfectly, it showed that they were perfect purity, and that nothing could contaminate them. The Gateway was such because it was found that the contamination of ornaments clouded the minds of warriors and politicians, so such luxuries were vastly avoided under federal law.
The Gateway wasn't just the seat of the Igadzra Union, but a city in it's own right. It was also the largest shipyard in the Igadzra Union, and perhaps the largest in this galaxy, as the Gateway was over fifty kilometres across - fifty kilometres of underground facilities, large starports and scanner towers. A large amount of the Igadzra fleet was based there, and most operations in research would be, and have been, carried out within.
Thoughts of the majestic Gateway were not on SilverDragon's mind. Nor was the power of the Igadzra Union's Navy, which was seeming increasingly inadequate, especially with the Akrahd Union, a race of vicious creatures, only fifty or so light years from the facilities on Draco.
SilverDragon had called the meeting on that day not to discuss military, at least not directly, but politics. The Igadzra Union had no allies, and was, by ancient texts only, actually at war with many races. Those wars had long since been ignored, and nobody seemed to remember that the Igadzra Union were in a state of war with all Azdgari and Zidagar. Only the politicians, who sat around SilverDragon, seemed to care, and that annoyed him to no end.
"...with the Zidagar? Never!" one official complained heatedly, smashing his hand on the table. This reaction could be expected, as most Igadzra 'officials' were actually leading officers in combat.
One slightly more schooled 'official' decided to try and explain, in a sickeningly calm voice, the problems with siding with the Zidagar. "The Council specifically said that no alliances with other Crescent races should be allowed. And we must respect them..."
"The Council are old," SilverDragon replied, not letting him finish. His eyes shone in the light - determined eyes. SilverDragon would not let this opportunity pass. "And long since gone. We are no longer subject to them. We do our own wish, and surely you must understand that we need to survive."
"We must continue this. Any who seek to say that we bear no allegiance to them are heathens," the second official continued after letting SilverDragon speak. "We must follow our traditions, or we are not Igadzra."
SilverDragon shook his head. "The Zidagar are not who they used to be, nor are we what we used to be. We are not the Igadzra - not the warriors that we used to be - anymore. We are the Igadzra Union, and only the name is similar. Admit the change, and accept it. For otherwise we are doomed to see the Edien, and Akrahd, wrath. We cannot survive with only enemies. Even the most thickheaded of you should surely understand that."
Most of the officials seemed taken by SilverDragon's words. They had known him for a long time, and trusted him. Some had been in office longer than him, but they all recognised his abilities, and many of them considered him family. They know knew he wasn't a tool to be toyed with, but was a powerful leader, and they had to come to terms with that.
One of the officials - one who most opposed SilverDragon, as SilverDragon had only come to office nearly seventeen years after he had; he being a man named Olira Canjaur, who had many times run for President, and thus Canjaur was particularly jealous, to say the least, of a former squadron leader who had incredibly come to be President within a year -rose to speak, but SilverDragon stalled him with a calm hand.
"Take a vote. Who would wish us to send an emissary to Titan of the Miranu?" SilverDragon asked, his voice powerful. "Who here cares enough about the people , and less over the customs , to save our poor race?" SilverDragon made his words dance, and the effort was working. "Who will show the iron will to stand up against our true enemies, instead of fighting the pathetic races who are better suited as decoys?! Who will follow me? "
The officials, save Olira Canjaur, leapt into shouts to the affirmative, worked up over SilverDragon's voice, rather than his words. SilverDragon could have ended this earlier using his voice, a skill he had long since mastered, but he was waiting for a good reason not to ally with the Zidagar. He had not found one.
"Then so be it. Olira Canjaur, Head of Sanitary Operations and Captain of the I.U.S Soulwrath, you shall travel to the system of Titan and meet with the similarily named Titan of the Zidagar."
Canjaur was shivering in anger. "I'll get you for this....." he grated, the anger overflowing in his voice. Even the other officials were shocked by the pure hatred in the voice.
"I'd enjoy watching the Soulwrath, a pitiful Izaga, crush itself against my majestic vessel, the Heart of Steel, the most powerful new model Igazra the Igadzra Union command, Canjaur, but perhaps we should stick to more sensible courses of action," SilverDragon jested. "Get to Titan," he said, his voice suddenly much darker, "and go - now!"
Even SilverDragon was shocked when Canjaur scurried off - almost at a run - straight away. After a moment, SilverDragon turned to the others.
"I'm going personally to visit our friends the Miranu. We can't afford to use resources, so I'm going in an Izar. Keep the Heart of Steel well, everyone," SilverDragon stated, and then stood up to leave.
After saying goodbye to the odd official, and having to assure another he'd be fine, and he would take two Izar escorts, he finally got out and set off for Dock 1, Bay 2, where his smaller Izar rested. He had yet to name it, but perhaps he would soon enough.
A mere two hours later he was in space, with two Izars escorting him, as he had promised. With a final systems check, he set off on the short journey to Athena, to meet with Rima of the Miranu.....

The science team at the Gateway were busy on a project SilverDragon had earlier assigned them with. In fact, they'd just started, but it had been in the air a few days before they had begun.
The project was called Igazrada Project. To build the greatest vessel ever seen - an Igazra to an Igazra - a huge dreadnought, called the Igazrada. Although it would take some time, SilverDragon had requested the project be done, as the Igadzra Union needed a force that was not just respectable, but mighty.
Little did the galaxy know how much the Igadzra Union were now to act, after such a long silence to everyone else. Now they were here, and now they would begin their epic.
We are more than shells, we are more than minds. We are the Igadzra.

15 Aradas, 5 equipped with thoron beams, 8 with mine launchers, and 2 with anti-plasma blasters, jumped into the NSI-5553, along with 5 Freighters and 30 Patrol ships.
Already in the system was a small patrol fleet of Akrahd ships. 8 Destroyers, 6 Gunships, and 6 Fighters. They saw the small Horoth fleet enter the system, and changed course to intercept. The Horoth fleet sligbhtly outnumbered and outpowered the Akrahd fleet, but the Freighters would be easy prey.
The Gunships headed for the Freighters, intent on taking them out quickly. Surprisingly the freighters headed straight for the gunships as well. The Aradas and Patrol Boats headed for the Destroyers.
The Gunships closed in on the freighters, ready with primary weapons to gut them, when debris suddenly spat of the freighters. Large holes where suddenly visible. Seconds later the Gunships where nothing but debris, blown apart by Horoth space mines launched from the freighters.
The Destroyer captains had just been passed by the Aradas at high speed, exchaning fire, while the Patrol boats had already slowed and where ahead of the destroyers. The sudden destruction of the Gunships startled them, but they did not have long to consider. The Aradas had flipped in place, and fired off 10 mines. One destroyer blew up completely, while the rest all had damage from the splash damage. The Aradas closed again, firing the mines all the while, damaging each ship. Thoron beams fired, melting the armour of the Akrahd ships. The Anti-Plasma Blasters fired, disabling a destroyer. The Destroyers seeing that they could not win, changed to kamikaze tactics. An Arada went up quickly, as did 2 Patrol boats. But then the Freighters had closed in and shot their mines off. The remaing Destroyers went up, but another Patrol boat, and the 2 Aradas tractoring the disabled destroyer away went up as well, along with the disabled destroyer.
5 minutes later, 20 more Freighters jumped in system, glad the system was clear, along with 20 Destroyers, 40 Fighters, and 40 Interceptors jumped in.. The new mine launchers had worked a treat. And the only signal the Akrahd had got out was a signal saying a Horoth fleet had jumped in and atatcked. No one else knew what had happened.
The Freighters went to firing as many large mines at th jumpoing leading the Akrahd space, since they did not have long. With less than a day till Akrahd reinforcements jumped in, they did not have long.
20 Hours later, the Freighters retreated, still firing mines as long as possible, all with order to move to the jump point. The Field would be small, but it would damage any Akrahd ships that came through. The rest of the ships followed.

"It's time we took matters into our own hands," Captain Lakayre thought to himself, as he hurled through hyperspace aboard his Kayan Gunship. Pirate activity around Kayan space was never too big of a deal, but the Kayans lost enough trading vessels and the occasional civilian craft to force them into action. The Horoth and RA had declined to respond on a possible joint offensive against the pirates, but pirate activity in northern Kayan systems had been dwendling over the last few weeks, suggesting a weakness in their forces. That's when the decision was made to go forward with an offensive against the pirate world of NS-8219. Plus it would give them a chance to test the new Enhanced Arada in battle.
Without warning, around sixty Kayan Gunships, Laziras, and Aradas (including two of the new enhanced Aradas) dissolved out of hyperspace into the system of NS-8219. They were met by about twenty pirate vessels. "This is Captain Lakayre of the Kayan Militia," a voice came over the pirates' comm systems. "Your attacks against Kayan vessels are intolerable. You will surrender this system and yourselves into Kayan custody. You're outnumbered, outgunned, and as a race peaceful by nature, we'd prefer to do this without having to blow up all your ships if at all possible. We await your response." Lakayre didn't have to wait long for his response, a response of gunfire. "Stubborn pirates... I should've known it would come to this." Lakayre fumbled as his ship was rocked by cannon fire, but managed to open a channel to the fleet, "Lakayre to all vessels - fire at will."
In unison the ten Kayan gunships present opened their docking bays, launching a swarm of 30 Kayan Fireflies into the fray. As a wave of Aradas and Fireflies surged forward, the pirates found themselves reeling, outnumbered nearly five to one. Immediately the fireflies commenced attack runs against the slower renegade fighters, while the aradas strafed enemy warships. Support fire in the form of pursit missiles and defense mines was supplied in generous amounts by the Laziras and Gunships that were close behind. Together, the two enhanced aradas combined their strength to rip an enemy Lazira apart.
The battle was quick and decisive. The pirate fleet was decimated, and the few surviving vessels limped away, probably to Barah. The Kayans were left alone, in full control of the system. Captain Lakayre looked on with satisfaction as several Laziras and Aradas made their way toward the pirate base, which too would be under Kayan control soon, as soon the troops on board the Kayan ships could secure it.
Battle stats - Kayans: Ships present - 60 Losses - 3 Fireflies, 5 Aradas.
Pirates: Ships present - 19 Losses - 4 Crescent Fighters, 5 Aradas, 3 Laziras, 1 Crescent Warship -- All the rest fled the system

MOD: grundulator, your post can't happen because the battle in Igadzra ended a while ago because you failed to make you fleet do a defensive move in time. However, I will accept that your transports did land on Igadzra, they did kill a lot of people and damage a lot of stuff, but you couldn't have gotten away with escaping because the people on the planet would call in for ships from the battle to move in and kill the transports, not to mention there would have been ships on the other side of the planet anyway. Not all of them left.
-------------
A large fleet in Igadzra had been assembled and was now ready to depart. About 9,000 vessels had been assembled, and another 2,500 would come later to aid them. The Federation fleet jumpged into Slipstream....
The Federation fleet blasted into the Notil at high slipstream velocity and immediately pounced on the rather weak Edien forces in the system. The Ediens were still recovering from their attack and were caught off guard by the Federation. Federation warships sped forward, firing all their weapons, and creating a massive barrage of weapons fire which careened into the Edien fleet, causing mass destruction.

A patrol of three fighters were on patrol some ten minutes from Kayia. They formed a standard outer patrol and saw little action behind scanning and such. Their day was just as boring as any other ship patrol. That is until sensors picked up a massive jump point opening.
A massive ship jumped into realspace, engines hot. One pilot let out a rather explisive oath as he saw the size of it. Two kilometers long, it moved faster then its size appeared; and it was moving straight for Kayia. The patrol leader opened a com channel to the planet. This had just turned into one hell of a day...
Ryan stood on the bridge of his ship, a modified Zidara. He had taken off from Norhis to meet up with a fleet of forty Kiran ships fleet ships, mostly Aradas and Lazrias, which waited in hyperspace. Ryan was one whose home and family had been destroyed by the Ediens, and the human wanted revenge. Typical for someone who had suffered as badly as he. Ryan had wachted helplessly as an Edien fleet tore into Mira and destroyed it. His family and his life had been destroyed.
The fleet around him was loyal to him personally. They would follow him and attack the Ediens directly. It was time to prove that the Kiran was strong and could strike hard and fast. People like Hawk Kael and Sisay were either too slow or growing old. Sisay was a great leader but he was an old fosil. Time to strike now, hard and fast. Chak was their target.
The fleet jumped into the Chak system, weapons firing at full power. Before the Ediens knew it two destroyers and five fighters were flaming debris. Ryan opened a signal to the Edien ships and colony and said, "This is Commander Ryan of the Kiran battlefleet Echo. I come in the name of Draven the Wise to destroy all that you stand for. You destroyed my homeworld and kill my family, so its time to pay for your crimes. Pray to whatever gods who hold holy, for I am death incarnate and I'm here to send you straight to hell!"

Captain Lakayre sat on the bridge of his Kayan Gunship, closely moinitoring reports of the securing of the base on the planetoid below. There were two small Pirate bases there, a small settlement/outpost, and a larger fortified bunker including a small shipyard. The small settlement was already secured, and the remaining pirates in the bunker had been flushed out of most areas, now cornered in a basement area, trapped in three rooms, closed off behind a heavy iron door. They could choose surrender or starvation, though Lakayre hoped for the former, not wanting to cause any more death than necessary. It was one of the highest tenets of Kayan battle, one that all Militia members were trained to obey from their first day in training - "No matter who the enemy is, kill only when there is no other option, use non-leathal force whenever possible." The Kayans loathed killing, but were highly protective of their people, ships, and worlds - the defense of their own people from pirate attacks drove them to take action.
"We've secured the compound," a soldier said over the intercom, "We've got about seven pirate soldiers locked down in an empty basement storeroom, and we've posted fifteen guards in well-defended positions outside the door. The pirates should pose little threat, it's just a matter of time until they realize their situation is hopeless."
"What's the status of the base itself?" Lakayre asked.
"It... um... varies," the soldier replied. "The barracks, the weapons lockers, the kitchen, and the docking bay are all pretty much intact. The shipyard and the science lab are another matter - it seems the pirates had enough time to ransack them pretty thoroughly before they evacuated. It'll take at least five days (2 posts realtime) to make full repairs."
"Well, get right on it," Lakayre ordered. "We'll leave a sizable fleet in orbit, say 45 ships. That should be enough to repulse any pirates who attempt a reprisal, though I doubt we'll see any sort of counter-attack. Most reports indicate the pirates could hardly be said to have enough ships to defend their remaining bases, let alone launch any kind of offensive."
***NOTE TO CARNO - The maps are outdated. NS-8219 should be Kayan now, and I believe the Akrahd have captured one if not two Pirate systems. The system 2 jumps east of Gatagnu should be colonized by a joint Kayan-RA-Horoth station. Also, I believe there have been some changes to the Milky Way side that aren't reflected in the maps either. Since up-to-date maps are important in a story like this, could you please take a few minutes to update them when you find the time? Thanks!

Also, I am currently researching, Carnotaur, the Igazrada, so my income is depleted. I would also like to point out that perhaps the Edien's 30 million aren't moving much against the Federation's 650,000, which is unrealistic.
Okay, well, thank you for reading, I'll get on with my post. Oh, and, most of my posts will be novel style, as you might have guessed.
The unnamed Izar, escorted by two of the best Izar pilots in the Igadzra Union, finally reaches the remarkably beautiful planet of Athena.
"Only the Miranu could travel far to live here," SilverDragon noted to himself, as he was the only person in the Izar, which normally had a crew of three.
As SilverDragon brought his ship down to Athena, he received a hailing signal - quite a polite one - from the Miranu asking to know what business he had. He had gone through this the whole way here, but apparently little could outrun a Izar, or little had need to. Either that, or it was just custom.
"I am SilverDragon of the Igadzra Union, come to discuss alliance prospects with Rima of the Miranu," SilverDragon stated over the communications link. Silence ensued.....
Meanwhile, work on the Igazrada is continuing. It is said to take around 12 weeks (posts) to complete.
An officer in control of messages shifted on hid feet "I'm sorry to tell you sir, that Rima is not here. She went through the rift." He looked anxiously around. "Perhaps we can have a message to send to her when we can?" --------------------------------------------------- Rima was up and about. She had forestalled asking for shipyards to work with and was instead exploring around. She found that if she hid her face and didn't say exactly who she was most people just dismissed her as a Miranu crewperson. She found this enlightening. She heard a lot of gossip this way.

That was the first battle the Horoth have had, so I dont see how it comes out being invincible. I asked about what I could do in it first. The Akrahd would be surprised since the Aradas are new, as are the mines being launched from ships. It is very reasonable since you dont normally expect weapons of mass destruction from freighters.
Please stop seeing things where nothing is.
As for Reign of Choas, I seem to rememeber everyone getting super weapons very quickly. IA actually got stuff which mainly branched off from what was already availible, till everyone started getting super techs nonstop.

OOC: Just need to say, I haven't read up in GH, but I've heard that you're making yourself invincible. That's all. Anyway, why would peaceful Horoth attack? That's not starting anything violent, really, to ask that.
Hawk paced the expansive bridge of the ship. Around his neck was the amulet given to him by the Lady Light. He hadn't had time to look at it as he had been busy exploring this vessel. The slipstream drive on this ship, unlike the modified drive on the Saer, was normal, so he had some time to explore. Right now the Nisim was on autopilot quickly heading for Kayia.
As the planet grew closer, Hawk tapped his comlink and opened a line to the planet, and to Carnotaur. "Kayia Command, this is Hawk Kael of the Nisim. President Carnotaur, there's something I think you should see..."
Ryan shouted out an order to the fleet as another destroyer burst into flames. "Ships Thrust, Hesit, and Gideo, blast through the interferecne and deliver the package!"
Two Aradas and a Lazria veered off from the fleet and battle and dodged past enemy ships. They reached Chak's atmosphere and rushed downwards towards the planet's main command and shipyards. The aradas stopped some distance upwards...and their bottom cargobay doors opened and several objects fell to the surface. The aradas then fliped upwards and thrusted maximum burn to space again. As they did so, many massive explosives came to veiw. Chak's command and primary shipyards had been bombed and blown sky high.
Admiral Benden sat in his quarters aboard the Silver Talon, unhappy that the ship was nearly dead in space. During the Battle of Norhis, the engines had been knocked out of alignment, and had burned through the Dura-Tritanium armour plating. Now, if the ships had her engines on and took even the slightest damage to the engines, she would be toast. The shuttle bay was being cleaned up, as several Azdaras had pratically crash landed in there, destroying the captains gig and crew transports. They had been able to limp back to Kayia, and were now in orbit. There were many technicians and engineers outside in worksuits patching up the hull. Now, all of the ecologists, poloticians, and idiots had cought up to him and wanted him to do something. They always said they had wanted to talk to him, and when they did they wanted to know why he wasn't out doing something. Now, Admiral Benden was drawing up plans for a new ship. He wasn't exactly qualified to design a new ship, but he was writing out some basic idea's for the ship. The Voinians had a Dreadnought, and recent intelligence reports talked about something big for the Ediens. They needed a Dreadnought. They way the battle had been going, it was very clear that Federation shields were underpowered, though their weapons were great. They needed a new shield technology for the new ship, and a way to make the weapons better. He had what was needed for the new design, so he decided that it was time to see of they Kayans thought it was worth anything.
