Well, uh, Rigadaz said you were building jumpgates.
Hawk walked down the halls ofthe great building. As he walked, he admired the art and decorations that graced the walls. It was a miracle, as if it were a dream come true. Hawk had landed some hours ago on Kisan, the third planet. He had landed on a small island of the shore of the largest land mass. Here he had found a grand temple dedicated to the Fates, as if it had been built for them by an elder race long gone. He had been looking around for hours, just to admire the beauty of it all. This world reminded him so much of Kisal. Yet deep in his heart, the Kisani knew it would never be home.
He turned left and into an open great room devoid of light. Hawk drew his staff and with one shake, it grew. With a word, the tip of it started to glow white with light. As the light came to, there was a great thud from behind. Hawk turned to see twin massive doors slam shut; he ran towards the doors and tried to open them. There was no handle or swicth which would allow it. The Kisani stepped back a few steps and aimed his staff point first at the door. The Kiran staff was a tool of many aspects, able to be a light source, staff, or a blast weapon, capable of emiting a burst that could either stun or do as much damage as quantum field cannon. Before Hawk could employ its latter function however, a bright silver light suddenly burst into being in the center of the room.
The Kisani was momentarily blinded, but as the light dimmed, his vision adapted. He shortened the staff and sheated it. Thats when he heard the voice.
It was rich and melodious, like that of a Kisani womans. As it spoke, the light pulsed. Who are you to enter the Temple of the Fates? Hawk stood in silence, stunned by what he saw.
Who are you to enter the Temple of the Fates? The question was asked a second time, the voice patient. Hawk shook his head and cleared his mind.
I am Hawk Kael, first born twin of Jeseran and Emmet Kael of Kisal. I am follower of Seldarni, Fate of Wanderers, and Kiran warrior. I have come to this most holy of stars to seek aid.
The light faded to a dim for a minute before flaring up. Your bloodline is one of honor and pride, strong in knowledge and tradition. Your patron Fate is well chosen as you bear in you the soul of a wanderer. You do well in bearing the staff of the Kiran. You have proven your worth by seeking this system. Why do you seek out this holy star in seek of aid?
Lady Light, this galaxy is in dire danger. Over six years past, a race of conquerors swept into the Milky Way with technology beyond any known. Their numbers were great and their speed to act astonishing. In these last six years, many have either died, fled, or stayed and fought for their homes. Hawk went on to tell everything, from the events before the Ediens to their arrival all the way to the present. He also told of the civil wars of miliena past, of the fall of the Kisani race and their rise again under the leadership of Draven. He told of his own past as a renegade and a Kiran warrior and leader. Fianlly he finished.
The voice was silent for some time. Then it spoke once more, kindness and sadness and compassion mixed in. Over 8000 years ago, a man came before this place to ask for help. The Fates had sensed the coming of the Dark Ones and knew that his heart was true. He took with him ships to help fight them. Now 8000 years later, you face another challange; with the Kisani largely gone from this galaxy and the Fates having not sensed this evil, you stand little chance at winning. The Fates cannot see the future, but they know that if the Ediens win, there will be no hope for your galaxy. You, Hawk Kael are unlike any other Kisani ever known. You admit to once being a renegade and are proud of your past, yet you seek a second chance. You speak with a passion and a purpose that is selfless. Only two other spoke with such, Draven the Light Wielder and the general of 8000 years past. Draven never came here as this holy star had long been cut off, but his words reached even these hallowed walls.
The voice was silent for a moment more then spoke. The Fates have wacthed you, young Kisani. They have wacthed over many people who fight against this evil, though they know it not. You took the first step in coming here, but by first honouring a friends dying wish. You have chosen right in those to follow your steps. Once before, we gave the ships of Kisa to defend the Kisani people. Now we give them again, but not only that. Your fight seems to affect your galaxys every race. The Fates have chosen a role for you to walk and you did so willingly and free of will. You path is now your own. As a gift, we give you one thing, knowing you will use it well. A great burst of silver light filled the room, causing Hawk to shield his eyes. When it dimmed down to a pulse once more, Hawk saw an object floating; it looked like a blue stone the size of his palm attached to a leather thong. It floated from the center and quickly hung around Hawks neck.
This is the Vearnis, which will help you in your fight. It contains the written, oral, and art works of the Kisani race and the other Five Elder Races, those who had long passed from this plane of existence. In it holds the knowledge of ships, weaponry, and most of all, the wisdom of ages past. Be warned that not all will be revealed at once. It will take time to unlock. Remember also that the Vearnis is by right now yours; it will be bound to you by spirit and will. Where ever you go, so will this. It cannot be taken from you by force or deceit. Only your will shall allow it otherwise. The Fates love you deeply, Hawk Kael. They shall travel with you in spirt and heart. The light faded and the doors opened, leaving an awed Hawk in silence.
The next thing he did was knell in a prayer of thanks....

OOC: Not really, RMA. The Federation can send messages to the New Galaxy whenever they want, but the New Galaxy really can't respond unless they built their own transmittion device, which they currently cannot.
The battle in Igadzra continued on, with the Federation slowly getting beaten back but with the Ediens suffering major casualties as well. Suddenly, a massive fleet jumped into the system directly inside the outer corners of the Edien fleet.
It was the Voinians.
Earlier when Norhis had been attacked the Federation had requested Voinian reinforcements. These were them; late for the strike on Norhis but just in time to fight the Ediens in Igadzra. The Ediens, completely surprised by the appearance of the Voinians, went into utter chaos as the massive Voinian warships poured fire into the Edien fleet. The Ediens were beaten back, then surrounded, as Federation and Voinian warships closed in.
Then, five frieghters, loaded with warheads and explosives, slipstreamed in (escorted by a small Federation strike fleet) and then charged into the midst of the Edien fleet. Suddenly, they exploded, destroying countless Edien destroyers and fighters and severely damaging the remaining Edien warships. Soon, the Federation closed in, and the remnants of the Edien fleet barely escaped back to Notil...

BATTLE STATS: Ediens Losses: 1600 fighters, 3400 destroyers, 2700 BCs Remaining: 200 fighters, 600 destroyers, 300 BCs
Federation Losses: 1000 Azdaras, 200 Patrol Boats, 700 frigates, 100 Light Cruisers, 100 Battlecruisers Remaining: 1400 Azdaras, 800 Patrol Boats, 2300 frigates, 700 Light Cruisers, 700 Battlecruisers
Voinians Losses: 50 Heavy Fighters, 50 Interceptors, 10 Destroyers, 10 HVDs, 5 Cruisers Remaining: 800 Heavy Fighters, 700 Interceptors, 350 destroyers, 250 HVDs, 200 Cruisers
Kryptauros and his fleet hypered into NSI-482. They were greeted by a few measley pirate intercepters and then they charged in towards the planet. Kryptauros commed the main station. "Watch out! Here I come!" And with that the fighting began. The planet started sending up all the available ships it could. Even some merchant vessels were being bribed to fight. The fleet then dismounted and flew off in all kinds of directions to confuse the pirate fleet. Akrahd missles were flying everywhere. Plasma Cannons were knocking pirates everywhere. You couldn't count how fast some of the ships were being destroyed. Kryptauros charged up his Plasma beam and told his fleet to move out of the way. The fleet backed off and Kryptauros rode forward. His beam was reaching critital temp. when he finally fired it towards the planet. When it entered the atmosphere the clouds around were vaporizing (hehe inside joke) and disappearing. Then you could see a quite large explosion on the surface. His beam was still pulsating out and finally you could see small stations out of nowhere start blowing up. "I told that Markolov that we could defeat this small army. What pathetic fools they are. Fleet Alpha 1, 2, Beta 5, and 8 prepare to land on the planet and destroy and ripple you see, sign of pirate life. We are colonizing this planet." "Sir there are also 2 habitable planets and 1 station revolving around this planet," one of the science officers comms." "Fleet Alpha 3, 4, take over the station. Myself and Fleets Beta 1, 2, and 3 will take over the moons. Fleets Beta 4, 6, and 7, make sure this area around the planet is safe. Everyone move out!"
Soon after the (relatively small) planet and the moons and the station was taken over within hours. "Alright everyone lets get back to the main base. I want to have a colinization fleet en route to this planet. And since I am the Emporer here, I name the planet Carnage, the two moons Delphis and Centrax, and the station..........Station Operu." *To:Krypaturos *From:Menslie *We have finally constructed a military outpost as you have requested. It is now in orbit of Akrahd. The scientist Galahad has come up with some very interesting possibilities with plasma technology. Ship production is increasing quite dramatically but if you would like to create more ships in a small amount of time then I suggest that you build some new shipyards. *Done
*To:Menslie *From:IFF Kryptauros *We have just successfully taken over the planet here in NSI-482. There wasn't much of a fleet and they were smashed into the ground. We have destroyed many of the outposts on the planet and the 2 moons and on the station. We need a conlonization fleet en route to these 4 stellars immediately. Three Kayan Militia officials arrived at the joint station and proceeded to the research division.
"We're here to pick up the plans to the Enhanced Arada."
"May I see your clearance?" the Horoth scientist in charge asked. The Kayans complied, and soon left with the design schematics in hand. They returned to the docked fleet of ships which had just completed with retrofitting. Thanking the engineers who had done the retrofitting, some Kayans, some Horoth, and some human, the Kayans boarded their ships and entered orbit. All but five of the retrofitted ships left for Kayan space, the plans on board. Five retrofitted Kayan aradas remained behind at the station, patrolling the system and running routine scans.

"We're going to need an additional shipyard to increase our production to include the enhanced arada if we're going to keep producing our other vessels at the same rate. We should construct one - perhaps in one of our eastern systems," Militia Commander Lasin said, having just heard the news that the retrofitted vessels were on their way back.
"Aye sir. As soon as we get permission from the senate we will commence construction. Expect it to take about a week to get permission and to complete construction (3 posts)."
Message to Horoth Command and RA Command, high band encryption active Point of origin - Office of Militia Commander Lasin - South Tip Station
We are glad the production of the enhanced arada has gone so well. We hope we can collaberate on future projects. Also, as you most likely know, the pirates have several bases to the north of our space. Once we have a sufficient number of enhanced aradas complete, if we work together, we could probably deal a serious blow to the pirates, possibly even eliminating their threat. We Kayans are not known for aggressive action, but the RA has an illustrious military history, and the Horoth are amazing strategists. Combine that with our advanced science and we have a winning combonation. Would you be interested in a joint offensive?

Hawk walked down the corridors of the massive ship, impressed with its raw power. Here was a ship that could be put to use, a ship two kilometers long with an impressive array of weapons and shielding. It held room for improvement and was in good condtion. The Kisani had docked with a ship after breaking orbit, his head full of overwhelming thoughts. He had need of one ship, and he had seen it clearly. The stone that hung from his neck would be enough help, but until he could figure out how to retrive the information, he needed a warship.
As the Kisani walked down the large corridors, trying to find a lift, he saw that perhaps at least a thousand people could work and live here. He found a lift and ordered for the bridge. The lift shot upwards, and reached the bridge in some seconds. The bridge amazed him, so big and spacious. He could see it in the days to come, full of life. He headed to the helm area. After a bit, Hawk managed to get ship free of dry dock and far enough from the gravity well. He would return here some day, after the Ediens were gone, and see that all links were established. Until then, it would seem that only his slipfighter could jump through, though it would be heavily damaged. All routes were cut from it but not out of Kisa. After about an hour a jump point opened, and the massive ship, dubbed the Nisim in memory of his old ship, disapered.
Sisay sat straight up, awake in sweat. He had been sleeping in his quarters when he had dreamnt of meeting with people on Kayia. It then had turned into a place of nightmares and such. He saw his home on Mira, shrouded in darkness and girme. He shook his head and got up. They had indeed arrived at Kayia some time, but he had never went down. Instead he had stayed in orbit until such time he felt nessasary to do otherwise. As he ordered some black coffee from the sythasyer, he looked out the window and saw stars. It never crossed his mind to pray. Instead he thought on what the Kiran's next move would be.
Sisay was a warship captain, had been so over 2 decades. He had no time for prayers, as his days now were consumed with battle reports and tactial plannings. His only solace had been destroyed when Mira had been devtating. he had remembered coming back to his world to aid in the battle..when he was too late. He could but wonder when the Federation would plan a risky venture to strike at the heart of the Edien prescense in this galaxy. If the Ediens could pull every ship back to the Azdgari system and the Voinians and Federation could flank it, it might work.
As Sisay took a drink of his coffee, an idea hit him upside the head. Sisay thought on it some, and it seemed risky, but it could prove useful. He set his coffee down on his desk and said, "Revearence, open a comlink to Carnotaur, Gold Channel. Tell him it's urgent and it's from me."
"Request under way, Captain. Link is being established." Sisay ignored the computer, his idea taking control over his thoughts...
Carnotaur, in the meeting room, was then approached by a Fed lieutenant which reported that a message had arrived for Carnotaur. Carnotaur excused himself from the meeting and went quickly to an office. Look at the viewscreen, Carnotaur was met by the sight of Sisay on the bridge of his ship. "Hello again Captain Sisay," Carnotaur said. "What did you want to talk to me about?"
Rima was walking around. She knew it was probably useless but she sent one or two ships on patrol on the edge of the system every once in awhile. It stopped them from wondering too much and it let them do something. The ship would be done in a few weeks and soon she'd have the skimatics(sp?) on it. Thoughtfully she wondered if asteroids had any special materials in them. Perhaps that would keep her peoples mind on something. She could send them off to study asteriods. Perhaps there'd be a material that they could make better weapons out of. She shook herself out of her plans as someone slipped in and put something on her desk. They slipped out again and she saw it was the about the ship. Miranu Warship Shields: 300 Armor: 50 Weapons: 4 Phase Turrets 4 SAD Launchers - 40 SADs 1 Dispy Rocket Launcher - 20 Dispersal Rockets it read. She studied it for a few minutes. It looked good. It would be done soon but they needed somewhere to produce it. She sighed got up and went to find Carnotaur and ask him if she could use a ship building facility.
------------------ The earth is burning up and were all going to die. are lungs burn for fresh air as we smother in ash
Sisay turned at the sound of Carnotauar's voice and said, "Mr. President, it's great to see you're not busy. I'm uploading to your databases standard Edien fleet movements and postions gained by Kiran scoutships. I'm sure you have these records as well, but there is more. As well, I'm also uploading my plan as well."
Sisay sat down and continued. "Edien sensors are as good as any others, but for all their advances, they are still sensors. I have some very good people who are sensor and communications experts aboard my ship. What I have to say is let us make an attempt to make an assault on former Azdgari space, or make it look like it. The combined forces of both the Federation and Voinian navies totals over one million. Kiran ships total a number of five hundred, and when your shipyards finish building them, perhaps more. We have currently begun building ships thanks to your gift of Racet Base, we could have enough ships to pull something major off. Let's try and make the Ediens afraid. Should I go on?"
Carnotaur shook his head. "Sorry, but until the Igadzra Offensive and Miranu Offensive is finished and we've built more ships, we can't attempt it. However, we will try to conduct it, just not now. But yes, overral I think it's a good plan."
New Research project: Building on the armour enhancing technology, Horoth scientists are now researching a more powerful version. The fiber network will be below the armour and project an energy field between the hull and the shields. The total damage it can absorb will be low, but it will have a fast recharge, effectively reducing the damage weapons do to armour, allowing ships to be more durable in battle. When Kryptauros arrived back into Akrahd he went to Head Scientist Menslie. "Menslie!" A few minutes later Menslie comes through the door. "How are we doing on our plasma technology?" "2 more posts sir." "What about the sub-space whatchamacalit?!" "4 posts sir. Also our first shipyard will be done in 1 more post." "What about colonizing the stellars? How long will that take?" "1 more post sir." "What about armor!" "We are making it lighter and more durable. 2 posts sir." "How is Galahad holding up?" "He is doing well sir. He is a very much needed addition to the team. Our plasma damage is predicted to be triple the power they used to be on armor but on shields they will only double." "How did this man know so much about plasma weapons?" Kryptauros said to Menslie. "Well sir," Menslie replies,"he says that he has a plasma cannon in his personal laboratory at his residence. He says he studied the piece of crap like no other. Then he destroyed the prototype when the Horoth discovered it without them knowing. He also says that he has read books by Hernavio Vestera on plasma technology." "Well does he know anything else?"
"Yes in fact he does. He knows about the Horoth Mines."

I dont see the Horoth letting anyone have access to weapons technology outside the military. I also dont see a single person outdoing an entire civilisation on a weapon said civilisation has already back-engineered.
Horoth mines are not left lying about for anyone to get at. There is no way he could know anything about them. The only thing known in general is they do a lot of damage, not how they work or anything else. People higher up in the military might know more about them, but it would be on a need-to-know basis, and not availible to anyone who got high enough, so this scientist wouldnt know anything.
He wouldnt know anything of what you've said actually. You cant just go out and buy this stuff. Making high powered weapons availible to your normal citizen isnt too clever. Any weapons really.

Don't worry. I talked with Kryptauros and worked this out. Kryptauros now knows about the thing with Plasma Technology, as well as the fact that the scientists doesn't know a ton about plasma tech. He knows almost nothing about Horoth Mines except for the fact that they can replicate and hide in different levels of sub-space.
