I once managed to capture a Voinian Frigate with an Arada-it had been mauled by two Emalgha Warships first, however. I went on to soup it up into a powerfulish warship. BTW,what does the term "Monty Python"mean?

You captured a Vonian Frigate with an Arada? Lucky you...But the fact that it was first attacked by two Emalgha Warships has nothing to do with capture percentages...
Although I've never seen the movie, the term "Monty Python" comes from the film "Monty Python and the Holy Grail." According to what I've read, the battlecry is "run away, run away," and thus the "good guys" win by using this amazing tactic. Since this is basically the same method for destroying or disabling large capital ships in EV and EVO, this has been titled the "Monty Python."

Captured a Turncoat with my brand new scoutship----- I could have fought better in a souped uo scoutship..... so I tried to go to South Tip Station and trade it in---- took me about 10 trys to reach the station--- all those damn pirates wasted me with phase cannons

Which is exactly why I got rid of the Turncoat I captured with my shuttle...It took six attempts for me to finally reach a shipyard in which to swap out with a Scoutship.
Yeah a Voiningle Frigate with an Arada is pretty cool, even if I do say so myself. Just goes to prove that 1% is still a chance. Or was it 5%? As for the Monty Python thing, using the Advance plug I was regularly taking down Cresent Warships in a souped-up Miranu Windrider.

Nah, it was 4.

Advance plug? I've never heard of it...

errm... it's not an issue of firepower or escorts... it's an issue of the low crew # in the Igazra trying to capture a high crew ship, like the V Cruiser. You got VERY lucky there! The most I can hope to capture are other crescent ships, like the Crescent Warship....

The action is thus: Flee your opponet, leaving enough room in between for you to hit them with (hopefully turrets) your lasers. Because you are moving forwards your blasts will go farther backwards, whereas theirs will not be able to reach you. This method will allow a tiny ship to defeat the largest of the large. Providing, of course, that you are faster. This is the best (easiest) way to defeat the dreadnought.
