Flashpoint - an EVO webstory

OCC: Thunder do the UE have the UE cruiser yet?

IC: Titan orders his fleet to remaine in Hinavar, also sending a 2 UE carriers and 3 more destroyer as reforcements, and orders a fleet to go to the Obron system, the fleet includes: 5 Carriers, 10 destroyers.

Message to Admiral Bendan: I need you to destroy the renagades, as long as they still live we cannot have all of our forces fighting the Voinians. end of message

Titan - No, you have not yet developed the UE cruiser. You can start research and then build it, though.

The UE helped us to complete the uprising at Hinavar, we can't betray their trust by stealing their secret plans! Besides, that won't be necessary. The UE fleet is remaining in Hinavar, and I've just recieved word that another UE fleet is on it's way to Obron. If they succeed in taking the system, our system will directly border UE space. That way we'll have the advantage of UE border patrols able to assist us if Hinavar comes under attack from the Voinians. And from there, retaking Gamur can be our next step. After all, a permanent alliance with the UE is far more valuable to us than a temporary one.

Thunder out.

<<End Message>>

Meanwhile, Thunder got word that construction the extra Voinian Cruiser as well as 3 Heavy fighters had been completed. These ships were launched and added to the fleet guarding Hinavar, bringing the total in orbit to 4 cruisers, 7 frigates, 18 heavy fighters, 5 UE fighters, plus the UE fleet. With a force this strong, Thunder decided to send a message to Titan.

<<Message to Titan, commander of the UE, highly encrypted>>

I have recieved word that your are preparing for an attack on Obron. If your fleet gets into trouble and you need quick reinforcements, don't hesitate to call your allies the Hinwar. We have a small but determined fleet of warships, all of Voinian design, and we could send a few of them to help out your fleet at Obron if necessary.

Thunder out.

<<End message>>

Out Of Character: It's not generally considered a good idea to control another government than the one you're working for. In other words, you can't invent a secret UE project unless you're a UE player.

After five more Turncoats and ten more Helians had been upgraded, and the Voinian ships had been upgraded with shields, Lord Gwydion makes his move. He and the fleet that had been constructed (on which many of the ships had many marines) attack the Hatuli system, but only enough to get through the system. The fleet takes minimal damage, and continues on toward Ariane. Upon arrival, they only find a couple UE Destroyers, one Carrier, and about five fighters. The battle begins with the Voinian ships firing four rockets each (thirty-six rockets total) and a huge barrage of Neutron bolts at their opponents.

alright.by the way, can we make ships pther than vonian types?
do we have the vonians on hinwar as slaves?
------------
all of a sudden in Ariane a massive fleet of hinwarian crusers and intercepters (we copied the vonians) come out of hyperspace. They start attacking the vonians.

Um, you have absolutely NO way of knowing that I would be in the Ariane system, grundulater. Radio transmissions don't go billions of lightyears instantly. And I'm pretty sure that the Hinwar don't have massive fleets that they can throw wherever they want yet.

MODERATION: I'm afraid Lord Gwydion is right, post revoked granadulater. You have command of your own ship, as well as a few Hinwar ships, but not a massive fleet. And as he mentioned, you would have no way of knowing that he was in Ariane.

(OOC: If you wait until the UE attack Obron, you'll have a chance to attack the Voinians soon enough. 🙂 )

In answer to your questions, no, we did not enslave the Voinians. Most of them fought to their deaths, and those that didn't have been or are awaiting transfer to UE space for trial. We can produce Voinian ships, and perhaps UE fighters, because we had 5 of them donated to us. Other than that, no, we can't make any other ships. Sorry.

The weally defended outpost Obren coms under attack as the UE fleet arrives and inagages the defense fleet. 30 mintutes of fighting, the UE are victorias! The UE lost: 4 Destroyer, and 2 Carriers.

Titan starts researching the UE cruiser.

MOD: Post revoked, Titan. You failed to give me time to respond, and being away
a single day didn't give me time to place my ships in place.

Considering the positioning of the Hinwar, I would have put extra defences on
Obron. I recognise that I did not post that - that was going to go on
my next post when I got back. However, I should still have some reinforcements
after you were scanned.

I would like to suggest to Thunder we make a balance of playing. If someone doesn't
post at all while an enemy is readying to attack, then the **combat is stalled
until that person returns **.

This truly is not fair. One time I was off I lose Gualon, and now I lose Obron
also? The first I will accept - the second I will not.

-------------------------------

The UE fleet leaps into the Obron system, with massive firepower. The Voinian fleet
they meet is depressingly small.

However, the Voinians fall back on the defences straight away. The UE come forth,
and a barrage of rockets from the stellar fires, causing huge damage. Obviously, the
Voinians are making a defensive, stalling manouevrer, and like this is would take
hours to take Obron down.

(not joking, with ships coming in for repairs, making raids, scattering defences
and such, it would take a long time to pull Obron time)

actually, in one of my posts i had more ships added to the defence fleets on the UE/Voinian/Emalgha boarder.

Kokoney walked up to Korane,
"Mission completed. I stole sufficient data form Emalgha, and we have a defector willing to give us passcodes and info on the goings on in the Emalgha space. Also," Kokoney said with a grin, "We have found a weakness to Emalgha ships. The hulls of their ships consist of wood, so if we were to use a blaze cannon on each ship on the Emalgha border the cannons would burn the wood. The Emalgha don't have much defence in kelmaeon, so if we were to send a special ops team of marines on their base we could use gas bombs and smoke them out. Then we could control the space traffic, and have a task force find a way to Kelmaeon around Emalgha, or just cut right through before the ships engage."

OOC: there is also no way the Hinwar could have interceptors. The Voinians have just created them, thus you would have no knowledge because they haven't even been used yet.

Admiral Benden uses government funds to hire three transporters. He then had the Fourty Third armed battalion loaded onto them. Admiral Benden then left five UE fighters to escort them. The Purple Sector Fleet jumped into the Riomor system, with the Transporters timed to come in system 90 minutes after them.

OOC: I believe we should soon make a conitunuance(sp?) for this webstory.

Kokoney stands there, waiting for Korane's reply.

MODERATION: Remember, you may only control your own government. You can interact with characters of other governments, or insert spies into rival governments, but you can't control NPC's of another government than your own. In other words, Redchigh or Battledoctor will decide on the actions of the Emalgha captain who was captured by the Voinians, Ultimate Rebel, you can't simply assume she'll give you all the info you want.

Also, whoever mentioned it is right, the Hinwar do NOT have access to Voinian Interceptors, only Heavy fighters, UE fighters, Voinian frigaates, and Voinian Cruisers.

The Battle of Ariane is NOT over until either Titan or Admiral Benden posts a UE response. Admiral Benden has already posted did not respond (he may still, so if Titan does not respond in his next post, then you can consider the renegades the winner.

Thermonuclear weapons are allowed, but they can be shot down by planetary defenses or enemy ships (so they only work if a system has been occupied by an enemy force), and if successful will render whatever planet you attack uninhabitable for the remainder of the RPG, result in massive civilian casualties, and will result in massive trade embargoes against your government for it's atrocities. This basically means you'll have less cash to build ships and do research. (Does this sound fair, Dragoon?) And DON'T even try to launch them from system to system... any post like that will be revoked.

MOD: I fully support that, Thunder. Also, I'll try and read up today, and post
soon. Yes, we could do with a continuation, but so little has happened it doesn't
deserve a different name.

"Like I said, I'm awfully sorry for killing you, but the voices were insistant."

ESPilot's fighter, the Nightspirit, jumps into the Hinavar system, cloaks, and lands at the new capital where (I presume) Thunder is. The fighter lands undetected at the smallest and least-guarded spaceport in the city, and ESPilot disembarks. Later, he arrives at the headquarters for the Hinwar rebellion. He slips undetected into Thunder's office and says "I hear you need help for more slaves of your kind in Gamur. I could be of great use as a spy, since my ship is small and armed with a cloaking device, along with several other essential items." He waits for a reply....

A little bit surprised that an independent pilot could enter his office without him noticing, replied. "We do indeed need help to free the Hinwar enslaved on Gamur, but what we really need is for somebody to clear the system of Voinian ships. They have enough assult rifles and weaponry to mount a good fight if they rebel, but if the Voinians have ships in the system, the Hinwar rebels will be wiped out by rockets and neutron fire from space before they even get started."

"What if they had ships of their own?" another Hinwar official asked.

"I hadn't thought of that," Thunder said, turning to ESPilot. "If you could land undetected and smuggle a bomb into the Voinian military headquarters on Gamur, our operatives on the surface could move in and take control of the planet's defense fleet, and launch it to fight any Voinians in orbit! Of course, for it to work, we'll have to move quickly, and have everything ready and in place; we'll only get one shot at this. ESPilot, I won't lie to you, this is an extremely dangerous mission, but if you pull it off you'll be a hero among the Hinwar people. We'll also see to it that your pay reflects the dangerous nature of the mission, should you choose to accept it. We can provide you with a high yield nitro-warhead and as many Hinwar commandoes as you need. Will you take the mission?"

OOC: Yes. Read "Just a Quick Note" - mainly the first five or so posts and the
last three. And before you do that, try and gather everything you know about me
so you can judge me at the end. It seems that somehow or other, not
only does someone have my password, but their IP address is so near to being
identical that he know thinks it's me pulling a scam.

However, since email address and such remain the same, I am not entirely certain
that IP address changes when another person does it. If so, then we can
narrow our search to someone who lives near me, but I give you my word it wasn't
me.

Also, I'll have to post in game later today or tomorrow.

"Like I said, I'm awfully sorry for killing you, but the voices were insistant."

Its quite obvious, given the ips that it was you impersonating yourself. You are not the first person to have this "brilliant" idea. Every time it has always been a person saying some one got ahold of their account. It happens in online games and everything. Its the oldest trick in the book. So why don't you stop playing on people's ignorance and just tell the truth.

Chamrin

<sighs> Because it's not the truth, Chamrin. I didn't send those posts, but let's
just forget it. We're not getting anywhere here - I can't supply any proof as such.

It is upsetting to have the moderators suspect me like this, but I'm not going
to drive it into the ground.
