I know this sounds stupid bu here goes: I finally started to fight the human renegades in my dospect armoured Lazira which has the agility of a UE fighter. I've gotten the order to kill everything in Pariah with a couple of fellow destroyers. After that I'm gonna free Huron and rescue Anna B. That was the plan. Now, why can it I kill all the kraits carrried by the turncoats in Pariah? In 1.0.0 I remeber my blazegun freight-courrier could take em all but now I just get swarmed and shot down. How can I handle all those kraits with my Lazira without specila things like cloak/plasma siphon/... ?
------------------ What do I put in here?
The ships in EVO 1.0.2 have afterburners. You can't escape them.
EVO 1.0.2 is harder, and more unfair. I don't know why.......
------------------ Fear not the dragon, Fear not the wolf, Fear not the warship, Fear my Crescent Fighter.
I know its stupid but for that mission I had to use space mines to get the kraits away but what I recommend is the easier solution, get an azdara with a shield generator and 4 shield compacators and blaze cannons, or what all of my other files do... Get a voinian dreadnought! also forklifts wont help, you'll die before the second failed launch.
------------------ its not kids in the backseat that cause accidents, its accidents in the backseat that cause kids. y'all come in here and check this out before I flush it. computers let us do stupid things faster.
I forgot to mention I've got an afterburner too. Anyway I figured it out. There's a button wich autotargets the nearest enemy vessel. 3 phase turrets, hold space bar and keep pushing r. Thx anyway.
Ah, the closest target button :). Mine is set to keypad 0, and I find it the most important button in such battles, or second only to shooting. It certainly helps out with Kraits, as long as you have turrets.
I use a monty python sort of way by running(this spreads them out) turning around to face them and holding a and repeatitively pushing r.
------------------ --The Eye is Upon you-- If you look long enough the Sun isn't that bright.
Phase turrets are the best thing for kraits. And VE! You like Azdara's too? They really suck in the new EVO. They get kiled so easily by damn well dispies. The best thing to do is give it some voinian armour, you can fit it too.

Stupid question 2: I've entered the next stage of the game and I've got the same problem only worse. Every renegade near the rock (North-tip) must be destroyed. It's a mission in the gunshipmissionstring. I'm in a UE cruiser with RCS, speed, accel, phase turrets, cloak, afterburner, dospect, 4 shield enhancers. I get killed by crescent fighters and after a while also by aradas, laziras and the warships. How can I complete this mission? Should I capture enough escorts to saturate the system or what? Should I cloak to second I get in the system and loose 360 shield? Anyway, I need help again.
This is pretty much my solution to everything: get the plug that gives you a shield drainer! Fighters are dead in 2 seconds If you don't want to cheat, my advice would be to hire lots of escorts that have fighters (eg. Crescant Warship), send out all your UE fighters and let them take care of the small fry while you concentrate on the bigger ships.

Trust me, this mission is HARD (and I use 1.0.0!). Until you have enough money to get LOTS of warship escorts and a very good ship, I wouldn't bother (then again, I'm a horrible pilot). If you haven't sided with any of the strands yet, I'd go for the Azdgari and get the Enhanced Arada (heh heh heh), which is REALLY cheap.
Hope you have a better life than me.

Naturally. that makes it EASY.
------------------ Is the answer to this question 'no'? Chaos to the enemies of the Azdgari
Errr........ You can get the Enhanced Arada?

No, you can't.

Didn't think so. I've pretty much checked every planet after every mission string....
for this you could use space mines or a forklift. space mines would probably destroy a handful of fighters, though UE will make you pay a fine. forklift is very powerful, and the blast doesn't hurt you. or you could get evedit and destroy the stats of every ship in the game figuring out how to use it.

Pfft! Hiring warship escorts?! Just capture a bunch of Strand ships (preferably Adzgari) for either of the Strands that you are not allied with. Then, either keep your distance or cloak while they take out most of the fighters, then take out whatever's left.
One advantage of 1.0.2 is that the computer AI is better. Though this lets them slaughter you much more easily, it also increases your escorts' effectiveness.
If this doesn't work, you can also try messing around with the game-speed slider. Doing so will alter the speed of the ships but will not affect the firing rate of your guns (hehe). It does drastically reduce your weapons' range, but it also gives you a long time to smash the kraits with your phase cannons while they futily attempt to get within blaze range.

Forklifts? Editing ship stats? No way... cheating spoils the game.
Go for two (preferably three) dispersal rocket launchers and as many missiles as you can carry. This makes for a nice, fast reload time. Fly away from the Krait swarm, turn and let rip with pursuit missiles. Kraits have no armour, and it's one shot, one kill. Few enemy fleets can stand up to a barrage like that. Fire turrets as well of course. Just keep your cool and make those rockets count.

Eh, who needs any of that. The most definitely funnest way to kill a Krait is to release a space bomb into a swarm of them while they're following you. Of course, otherwise, use Voinian Ambassadors tactic.
I never had any trouble with Kraits. I was either in a ship that could outmanuever and then take them out, or I was in a ship that could level a ton of them quite quickly before they fired on me.

Good point. Pursuing fighters tend to bunch up. Charge at them, but turn once they're committed to the pass, and fly about 4" wide of the pack. Repeat this kind of pass, and you should see Kraits obsessively flying in a weird, ineffectual 'J' shaped path. It is the afterburner-boosted speed of the Krait which works against it.
When you learn to judge it right, you should find that the Kraits spend all their time trying to dump their excess speed and get after you again. AIs usually fire wide of the mark if you're both changing your vector, so all you have to do is pick off the singletons that manage to stay close to you.

that's why it's good to use space mines, they could blow up about 10 kraits or more with 1 mine.
