How long before "Newbie" status expires?

actually considering 9 books i think there's more.Each is at least 500 I think.

So am I a newbie?

I have about 15 posts. I've been posting on the ASW boards for not very long. But I know nearly all there is to know about EVO, I had it since end '98, I think, and I was a regular on the old boards.

I'd say I'm more of an oldie really. But I'm a newbie here. If any of you came and posted on the Alt board, you'd be newbies, even with 10,000 ASW posts. (Obviously exceptions, such as Soviet mikee, but the majority of you are UBB born & bred).

Actually, I think that newbieness is a state of mind. If you're always asking stupid questions, generally fairly irritating and just have an all-round 'newbie' air, you're a newbie. If, on t'other hand, you're sensible, mature, you don't put your foot in your mouth (or even your foot and mouth) then you're not a newbie...although you're not an oldie either.

Actually, it doesnt' really matter. After a certain stage, when you're no longer a newbie, how long you've been around, how many posts you have, etc cease to matter.

Don't worry, I was scared of that place when I was a newbie.

JG, some people will consider you a Newbie, some people won't.

This is why I don't use the term "newbie." I find that the length of time someone has been on the board has no correlation with whether or not they are an immature time-waster or not.

JG, seeing as all the oldies know you, i wont call you a newbie, but until I get to know your personality, i will consider you a newbie at heart. If you dont get the underlying message, POST MORE!. It's always good to have someone return

what have I become, my sweetest friend. Everyone I know goes away, in the end

JG is what we call an oldie, as he was once a regular poster a while back, but has stopped and now few people know who he is.

I, however, consider myself a regular as I have been visiting these boards on a regular basis for quite a while now, even before this EVO board was created. And I actually remember the old site when it was just an EV site....

sigh .....memories 🙂

Aye, memories of 800K animated Gifs and midi files in your posts. Ugh. I hated having analog then.

Jess, I can easily cope with that. Have you read Robert Jordan's Wheel of Time? 4000 pages, tiny
writing, and also distressing.

Ohhh..come on..the books are long, yes..but not THAT long! 🙂 What was the latest one, 800 pages?

Those books are way too long btw.

---Zelda

I think you know I didn't mean that!

I said "Wheel of Time", not "a book in the Wheel of Time". I was referring to the
total length, and they are only seperated into different books because of that
length.

Let's see.... 600-800 pages each, and nine books. I think I underestimated when
I spoke before.

I've never even heard of them, are they good?

Hi SilverDragon 😄
You know I could register this name...

Grr......

In fact, it wouldn't be in the least believable for 2 reasons.

1. I hate SilverDragon. No way would I expand on that title.
2. Whoever you are, I doubt you could imitate me perfectly.
