I know this has been asked before, but I'm asking information of the fertilizer run because my EVO nature is not a "peaceful little trader". I dunno anything special about trading, no great routes. So please help!
------------------ End Of Transmission
If you can withstand renegade bombardment, the Miser's Run in the Hatuli system is a good bet. Just go back and forth trading equipment (gah, I know that's spelled wrong) and metal.
------------------ You don't have to do this! Life is too precious! Good, good, slowly, everything will be OK. Now, put the trout down...
I deny your rights to claim a mispelling! The (url="http://"http://www.dictionary.com/cgi-bin/dict.pl?term=equipment")dictionary(/url) does not lie!

Yes. You spelt it right.
So you cant claym a misspelling point!
------------------ Great webboard: http://pub18.ezboard.com/baradapilotsboard
The only profitable trading I've spent much time on was Duios<->Tibidat, down in the South Tip Strandless area. It has several benefits: a shipyard with nice crescent ships right there when you've made enough money. The odd Renegade Arada or Crescent Fighter to make easy prey. The odd Defence and Hunt Renegade Warship missions to give that little extra cash. The chance to explore and spend time in an area that is almost completely neglected in the normal run of things. Helpful militia vessels to make the job safer for smaller craft :).
Is there anybody out there who actually is just a peaceful trader? I mean everybody I know who plays has an Ultimate combat rating, and is overlord of at least 3 worlds. Is there anybody who has no interest in combat and simply goes around trading?

Look, if you need some extra cash every once and a while, conquer Sumer. It's defence fleet is one Krait. I forget how much money you get, but it's still nice to have the extra cash every once and a while

The Thehir-Gribn thingy?, yes...profitable.

I have ultimate, but I'm not the "Overlord" type person so, um, usually no conquered planets. I tried it in EV, but everyone got mad at me (well, maybe not the rebels, but still).
Hey just a sec! No-one answered my original question
Thanks for the answers!
I believe that Jude is a peaceful trader. I've tried that approach myself, but I always find someone who makes me mad... and I end up earning more from counter-piracy than I do from hauling cargo.
The fertiliser run involves:
Loading up on metals at Earth or Luna in the Sol system.
Going one jump 'east' - I forget the name of the place.
Landing on the space station near the gas giant.
Selling the metals and loading up on fertiliser.
Flying north to Saalia, but don't bother landing.
Flying west to Alpha Centauri.
Land and sell the fertiliser. Buy foodstuffs.
Fly south, returning to Sol. Land on Earth and sell Foodstuffs.
You can program your hyperspace computer many jumps ahead, and repeat this route as often as you like. Sometimes the food at Alpha will be cheap, which is a bonus. Add escorts (shuttles first, maybe transporters later) when your finances allow. This will boost the rate at which you earn credits... but take care that you can always cover the escorts' wage bill or they'll desert with a share of your cargo.
------------------ I'm sorry my karma ran over your dogma. (url="http://"http://www.geocities.com/evodude2001/home.html")New & Improved: Cerberus Station!(/url) I got this .sig file at insanely_great.com - don't even think about taunting me!
Thank you VoinianAmbassador. Now I know, so forget this topic
Once you've earned enough to get hold of a reasonably robust ship, you could consider a more profitable route, such as equipment to Pax, crassworms to Omm, medical goods to Telnan (repeat). Or check out Jamie's advice for traders at (url="http://"http://www.grybs.com")www.grybs.com(/url) , which is a pretty good resource.
VoinianAmbassador, if you don't mind, I put the fertilizer run into the (url="http://"http://www.andrew.cmu.edu/~dsghosh/evosite/missionsjunk.html#junk")commodity trading section of my web site(/url). I gave you credit for it, but if for some reason you want me to take it off, I will. Also, I couldn't find any trading routes on (url="http://"http://www.grybs.com")www.grybs.com(/url) Could you tell me how to find them? Thanks.
------------------ Visit my EVO web site at (url="http://"http://www.evoverride.com")http://www.evoverride.com(/url)! Badminton Overhead Clear: Get under and slightly behind the falling birdie. Have racket ready in backswing position. Extend racket toward sky and contact shuttle at highest point. The racket face should be open. Snap wrist forward on contact. Shuttle should fly to your opponent's backcourt. -- shayborg's tip of the week
Sorry Shayborg,
It looks as if Jamie is reworking his website... The EVO pages, 'Invalid Directory' seem to be absent now. Rats, that was a good site. Perhaps it'll reappear in the fullness of time.
Regarding the fertiliser run strategy, I think anyone who's ever flown a shuttle has used it... wouldn't you say? I don't think anyone really discovered it 'first'. It's like the Monty Python maneuver; we all did it before we knew about the webboard.
I never heard of the fertilizer run!
My tactic is:
1. Do rush missions. 2. Do basic UE missions. 3. Buy a Scoutship. 4. Buy a UE fighter and beat the Dreadnought 5. Do the Miser's Run (trading and training :)) Use speed to evade opponents while escorts take the goods (RUNNING a trade route ;)) 7. Do the Miser's Run. 8. Do the Miser's Run. 9. Have enough money to buy a freight-courier, but instead stick with the fighter. 10. Go to the Crescent. Get me'self a Crescent warship. 11. Do Miranu trading missions. 12. Do the rest of the missions. 13. Either by an Igazra (playing as Igadzra or anyone else :)) Zidara (playing as a Zidagar, never capture) Crescent fighter (playing as Azdara - hate the Azdara) UE Cruiser, or Voinian Cruiser (always stolen if ever). Or, of course, a lovely Arada, usually Zachit Arada.
