I'm doing the Igadzra missions, and I got the Plasma Siphon. I keep destroyng Azdgari Warships, but it isn't working! Is there some kind of special ship, because if there is I can't find it. Please help, I've been stuck for months!

Yeah, it tells you to hunt A.S.S. Blisters or Delusions or Lazer Funk or something similar, so you have to find the one by that name. And Silver is right: it is in an uninhabited system, but more in Southeast Igadzra space as northeast is the Azdgari and it's not so close to their main systems! For some reason this one stumps most people, myself included. I gave up working for the Igadzra 3 times before I managed it. Good luck.
Anyway, the plasma siphon just happens to be the best secondary weapon in the game IMO. I'm currently doing another 'crew of one challenge' in a shuttle, and it's pretty much essential for that - saves the need for a fuel scoop and kicks azdaras, crescent fighters, kraits, you name it!

Tell me about it. That thing barely manages to halt fighters, as long as you keep it on them constantly. It eats fuel quickly, too.

It's pretty powerful, but a big ship can't turn fast enough to hit Azdaras with it

Alright... maybe it's just the best one for the crew of one :). It takes no space which is great, and I've found it a great help - plus of course it restores the fuel it uses, and uses it much slower than the beam.
Like everything in the game, there are times when it has its uses. When you can't be bothered to fire missiles because the nearest place where you can restock is many jumps away... when you're close to your destination and still have lots of fuel... or when you just want to swat crescent fighters or kraits without bothering to engage them properly.
I almost always end up with an Igazra with a plasma siphon. It suits my sense of overkill. I know it's a poor weapon, but when fired in addition to five turrets, it does tend to settle arguments very fast.
